Happy New Year.  Looks like we got some rain rather than all snow in our Nor'easter.  Pastor Mark and the team must have been singing, 'There's a Nor'easter blowing.'  I think the storm can be a test to see if we will either complain about the rain or thank God for our roof.  Complaining seems to come natural but praise and thanksgiving seems strange to flow out of us.  We did say that we are going to try harder to be more thankful and give God thanks so enjoy the day.  I truly believe until we learn to give thanks where we are we will not advance any farther and enjoy life any better.  So risk an AMEN!
It's our first Family Sunday of 2018, to think that we started Family Sunday back in 2012.  It's so wonderful to say, 'look what the Lord has started by us working together.'  Each one of you as a church family will receive an eternal reward for your labour that you invested into this event.  We start at 10:15 with food and fellowship followed by the morning service  This Sunday morning I will be sharing on, 'Willing and Obedient.'  We are willing to receive from God but are we willing to obey the One who we are willing to receive from?
All of the weekly Bible Studies are back up and running this week.  There are 2 men's Bible Studies, 1 ladies Bible Study, 2 house Bible Studies, and our mid week church Bible Study in Sydney River.  Youth also meet on Saturday evening at our church location.
Our new life class that was set to start next week from 9:30 to 10:15 will be put on hold due to sickness.  A later date will be set and we will let you know.
Its winter time and we could have some cancelations.  Please let us know how to contact you encase we do have to cancel sometime.  We will have cancelation on our web site, our face book, and we'll send out an email.  You could also call us or send us an email if you have any questions.
Continue to pray for all those in need, lots of love, looking forward to seeing you soon, Pastor Kevin and Alice.

Since I've been saved the end of the year always causes me to think forward into the coming year.  What will the Lord be doing in my life in 2018?  Who will come into the church, hear the gospel, and be saved?  Will it be one of your children or one of your friends?  Who in bondage will declare freedom and what sick person will declare that they have been healed?  What past promises from God will be fulfilled in 2018?  The Lord does great things every year but who will receive this year?  Who in God's calendar will this coming year be their season for increase?  Psalm 37:3-5 "Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass."
This will be a great NEW Year for us as we see a great increase in signs and wonders and miracles.
This Sunday will be the last day of 2017 and we will have both a 10:30 morning service and a 7-9 evening watch night service.  The evening service will have worship and praise, testimonies of past victories and future hopes and dreams.  There will also be a fellowship time with coffee and tea and if everyone could brings some sweets for us all to share.
A call to fast.  As I was praying about having a united time of fasting for the New Year I felt impressed by the Holy Spirit to ask you to join with me in a 40 hour fast.  Not 40 hours straight but starting Tuesday Jan 2nd and ending Friday Jan 5th.  Each day 10 am till 8 pm (10 hours) Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.  In a time of fasting we don't eat any food but you may have liquids.
Next Sunday Jan. 7 is the first Family Sunday for the New Year and our Bible Studies will begin the following week with a new 10 week Bible Study in Glace Bay at the home of Cathy Sams.  Dave Forrester will be teaching a 10 week course on the book of Romans.

It's almost Christmas, the day of our Savior's birth.  I wonder what our Lord thought when He opened His human eyes for the first time.  The wonder of Him having a huge Divine plan and to find Himself wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.  The plans of Heaven meeting the prayers of the saints, unfolded that first Christmas morning.  God in flesh appeared but He didn't come in a giant package but a tiny baby.  He delights to start things that are going to grow and become big with small seeds.  Hiding His greatness in lowliest of places.  Adam in the Garden of Eden had to tend to the Garden, tend to grow the things that God put in his garden.  We also are reminded that Jesus has come into our heart and now we are to tend to our garden and grow in us His seeds of love, faith, and unity.  To share His message of hope and peace to all mankind.  My confidence in you is He will continue to grow in you and your best days are just ahead.
This Sunday is Christmas Eve and we are looking forward to an exciting exalting morning service.  There will be special music, communion, and I'll be sharing, 'Finding God In Strange Places.'  I was going to call the message, finding God in strange people.
We won't be having a Christmas Eve evening service but we will have a New Years Eve evening service to testify about the goodness of God in 2017 and our faith in God for 2018
Continue to pray for all those in need, looking forward to seeing you soon, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice from our home to yours Merry Christmas.

Everything we do is done by a choice and everything that we become is done after we make a decision and declare it by faith into our world.  I know that's a deep statement right?  Deuteronomy 30:19 "I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live."   Joshua said in chapter 24:15 "And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
Whatever seems right to you, so it's just as easy to choose to be mean as it is to be kind, to love as it is to hate, to care as it is not to care, to give as it is to be greedy but what you choose to do will have different outcomes in the world around you.  Often we depart into doing wrong things when we no longer trust God to bring about the right thing.
If you go to the Mall shopping you can complain about the busyness or you can say with this many people I will likely see someone I can talk to about God.  I can complain about all the traffic or thank God I have something to drive.  It's a choice so choose wisely today and live large in the Lord Jesus so your future will be good.  My confidence in you is high as you are highly favored and greatly blessed.
Last evening at the Mayflower Mall Aroma Worship gave the shopping audience some wonderful Christmas music.  Due to scheduling Aroma Worship will not be singing at the Mall on Saturday evening as previously announced.
Tomorrow, Saturday, the Sunday School will be having a full rehearsal for the Children's Christmas Presentation.  The children of the church are always so pleased to minister to the adults and it prepares them for a future of ministry.
Sunday morning is the Sunday School's Children's Christmas Presentation.

Have you ever seen a one man band?  The person may be gifted to play several instruments but they would never make as great a sound as several gifted musicians playing together.  Also a one man band would be limited to what the one man could do.  It's true that you can do things that I can't do and I can do things that you can't do but the greater truth is together we can do far more wonderful things than neither one of us could do along.  God is really big on us being a loving working together family.  Ecclesiastes 4:12 "Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken."
The second picture is a large orchestra, which picture do you think looks more like the true church?  I believe as we come together in love and unity we shall make a sound that calls Heaven to come and join with us.  Each new person helps us to grow in the grace and the knowledge of the Lord.  In 2018 we can expect greater things because Jesus said if two of you on earth shall agree as touching anything it shall be done for them.  My confidence in you is high as we march together into the future we shall declare, to God be the glory for the great things He has done.
Tomorrow @6 is our annual Christmas banquet.  We are looking forward to hosting our largest crowd even and we have opened another area to place more tables so everyone will have a place.  Aroma Worship has their first CD ready for the Banquet and it will be for sale on Sunday for $15 per CD.  They will also be singing Christmas music at the Mayflower Mall @7pm on the 14th and 16 on this month.
Sunday morning I will be sharing, 'Having The Right Hope.'  There are many places for people to put their hope but wherever you invest your life you expect to receive your hope.
Our children's Christmas Concert is next Sunday the 17th of Dec.  There will be a rehearsal for the concert on Saturday Dec. 16.
There will be no Wednesday midweek Bible Study until the new year,
Continue to pray for all those in need.  We're looking forward to seeing you soon, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

God is good all the time.  Being a part of the local church is an awesome thing.  As we join together we are called the body of Christ, the family of God, even a holy nation.  1 Peter 2:9 "But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light."  I remember when I first came to church I was like a man reaching out and grabbing hold of something.  I was holding onto them but I didn't feel that there was anyone there reaching out to me.  What made me feel connected and welcome was when some people in the church started to reach out an held onto me.  Let me say it this way; picture a husband and wife walking together and one needs help so they grab a hold of the other person for support.  Then picture the husband and wife walking together, hand in hand lovingly supporting each other.  Which picture is the church?  I thank God for our growing church as I see you offering your hand of love and support to others.  It's then that we together can proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
There will be no breakfast served this Sunday but we will return to having Family Sunday on Jan. 7th 2018
This Sunday I will be sharing, 'We Are All Filled With Stuff.'  What's in you as a person is what you draw from to cope with life.  If you don't have the right stuff in you then you end up drawing from the wrong stuff and going in the wrong direction.
This Wednesday is the last mid week Bible Study until the New Year.  It will be part two of how to build loving relationships.
Next Saturday Dec. 9th @ 6pm is our annual Christmas Banquet.  It's a time of eating and fellowship but it's also a time when we as a church express our love towards different groups in our community that help to make our community a better place to live.
Aroma Worship plan to have their first CD ready for the Banquet and they will be singing Christmas music at the Mayflower Mall later in the month.
Our children's Christmas Concert is Sunday the 17th of Dec.  There will be a rehearsal for the concert on Saturday Dec. 16.
Starting on the 14th of Jan there will be a New Life class, from 9:30 till 10:15 (before the morning service).  These classes are for anyone who is new to the church and would like to learn more about some of the basic reasons for us placing our faith in Jesus.  Charlene Petrie will be the instructor, Charlene comes as a career teacher from our educational system and a great woman of faith.  She is looking forward to helping you reach higher heights in the Lord.

Friday, November 24th, 2017

Good morning, and let me say that you are going to have a great day.  There are some people who have made it their mission in life to be nasty.  They go through the day complaining and when there's nothing to complain about, they take out their magnifying glass of darkness and look for something to complain about.  For us who believe we are reminder in Psalm 118:24 "This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it."  As Christians we should go about today looking for good and should a dark cloud pass by, we are to be looking for the silver lining.  John 10:10 "The thief does not come (everyday) except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come (everyday) that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."  We are examples of who we follow and we are making examples of those who are following us.  This day is waiting for you to arrive, my confidence in you is high that you will be a blessing and receive a blessing everywhere you go.
This Sunday I will be sharing, 'Stumbling Or Stepping Stones.'  As we do life we are all passed stones that offend us.  The stone itself is not the problem but it's what we do with the stone that changes our life.
We have cancelled the breakfast time for the first Sunday in Dec but we are looking forward to starting the New Year with Family Sunday.
Our mid week Bible Study has just finished a study with Pastor Robert Morris and for the next two Bible Study's I will be sharing on, 'Building Loving Relationships.'
Our annual Christmas Banquet tickets are now for sale.  The banquet is Saturday Dec. 9th @ 6pm.  We have a limited amount of seating so please pick up your tickets as soon as possible.
Aroma Worship plan to have their first CD ready for you on Dec. 9th.
Our children's Christmas Concert is Sunday the 17th of Dec.  There will be a rehearsal for the concert on Saturday Dec. 16.
Starting on the 2nd Sunday in the New Year, from 9:30 till 10:15 (before the morning service) there will be an 8 to 10 week New Life Class.

Psalm 91:1-2 "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”  There is a secret place that the Lord has for you to live in and in that place you will have divine protection.  I believe only Heaven will truly reveal all the times that the Lord has protected you from evil.  His shadow protected and blessed you for acting Godly when you had a choice to act another way.  His shadow covered you for staying in faith rather than straying from the Word of the Lord and acting ungodly.  I have found that His protection is like an umbrellaThe umbrella doesn't stop the rain from falling but it keeps you dry while others who walk in the same circumstances get wet.  I pray that you hold high your umbrella of faith in Jesus today.  Hold high His peace that passes all understanding, His love that bares us up in every season of life, His grace that covers all of our sin, and His mercy that's new every morning.  I believe that our best days are yet to come.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing, 'I Can See Clearly Now.'  For those who want to follow the Lord we must keep our eyes fixed on Him who is the author and finisher of our faith.
This is the last Sunday for your Christmas Shoe Box to be returned.
Our annual Christmas Banquet tickets are for sale.
I want to thank all those who help bring our CBU students to church each week.  They are doing a great job as we see more and more and more students come to the Fellowship.
All of the weekly Bible Study groups are reporting that good things are happening.
We are still 6 weeks away from 2018 and yet the Lord has been whispering in my heart that we are going to see great and mighty things coming our way

1 Peter 5:8 "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour."  As believers we are to be peacemakers who walk in love but there are some people who did not come our way to befriend us or to be kind to us but they have come to devour and destroy us.  John 10:10 "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. (Jesus speaking) I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."  How do we enjoy abundant living while walking among those that are out to get us?  Galatians 5:22-23 "the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law."  The work of Adam in the Garden of Eden was to tend the Garden and grow things.  Our work as Christians is to grow the fruit of the Holy Spirit.  I believe as we work to grow the works of God in our lives we will have the wisdom to give no place to the devil.  We will be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might and the roaring lion will not be able to destroy us.  You cannot be the devil's friend nor can you stop him from roaring at you but you can... "submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you." James 4:7
This Sunday morning I will be sharing, "Investing Before You Begin."  The Holy Spirit gave me a Word about how we can become overwhelmed, grow weary, and lose our joy.  It has to do with our commitment before we begin rather than the problems that we encounter along the way.
Last Sunday was Family Sunday and we had 280 plus people in the service.  Thank you all for making Family Sunday such a success.
Tickets for the Christmas Banquet (6 pm Dec. 9th) are on sale at the church.  Its $15 per person and for a family of 4 or more it's $50 total.  There are only 300 tickets available and other years we have had a full house.  Please buy your tickets as soon as possible so you are not disappointed.
Don't forget to bring in your Christmas Shoe Boxes this Sunday.

We all get to go through life but how we go through life, our outlook and attitude is up to us.  The person who begins their day with prayer, walks through their day by faith, will end their day with praise.  I have discovered that the hard things that we go through remind us to strengthen ourselves in the inner person so we might walk outwardly upright.  We are like a caterpillar who struggles to get past the problem in the cocoon to come out with the strength to fly as a butterfly.  The struggle to escape the cocoon was a gift from God to empower them to do well at the next level.  Proverbs 24:5 "The wise prevail through great power, and those who have knowledge muster their strength."  The knowledge that we are moving forward, advancing to the next level, and going beyond where we've been causes us to muster, stir, and be provoked for our victory is just ahead.  My confidence in you is high so press on, your gaining ground and receiving your wings to fly higher than ever before.
Wait for it.....its Family SundayWe start at 10:15 with food and fellowship followed by the morning service.  We have a special guest, Pastor Bruce Morrison and his wife Marlene.  Pastor Bruce was my Pastor in the New Glasgow Fellowship Church before we moved here to Sydney in 1990.  He was the main influence both here are around the Maritimes to raise support to help our fellowship church receive a rebirth.  He is still the senior Pastor in New Glasgow and has a strong vision to help churches find success.  In 2001 at 9/11 in New York City he rushed to ground zero to work as a chaplain to comfort those who were hurting after the terrorist attack.  He delivers the Word of the Lord with a strong conviction to see the Word become life and the power change your world.
Don't forget to fill your shoe box and bring them back to church.  Thank you all for allowing the Lord to use you and as we work together may we advance His Kingdom in our church and divinely touch our community.

Last Sunday evening the worship was outstanding and we rejoice to see the goodness of God in the land of the LivingThank You Holy Spirit for your anointing.
Around the world the most looked up verses in the Bible are found in Psalm 23.  In verse 3 of Psalm 23 we read, "He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake."  In order to restore our soul (mind, will, and emotions) He leads us and we follow.  He tells us that His paths are righteous and that doesn't always mean that it's easy.  What we need to remember is the reward of following His path is personal restoration.  We should never become too happy or comfortable in a sad and uncomfortable place.  If we find pleasure staying in the wrong place it will hinder us from moving forward to the right place.  Why should we trust the Lord and follow?  His vision sees what and where we can't see.  His power can deliver us from enemies that we can't defeat.  His wisdom tells us things that no one else can tell us.  The light of His love will guard us through dark places and bring us safely to the other side.  Jesus said to His first disciples, 'Follow Me and I will make you...'  Take a moment and ask the Lord to guide you today and may you be restored to the glory of God in every area of your life.
This Sunday I will be sharing, 'Step By Step.'  He leads all of us from where we are to where He wants us to be.  We are not all in the same place in the beginning but we all must step from where we are towards Him.

Often as we are following God we will need His advice about how we should advance in a certain direction.   For me, I have heard the Holy Spirit give me three different answers.  The first one is the one I was hoping to hear, 'The Lord says, 'Yes, Now is the time.'  This is great news as I feel that I have the full support of Heaven.  The second answer that I have been given is, 'no, you are not ready.'  It's not that my direction is wrong but His answer means that I'm not mature enough yet to handle the issues that will arise from the direction that I'm going to take.  I have not been denied but I will be delayed until I am prepared.  His third answer is, 'Wait, now is the wrong time.'  This answer is the hardest to accept because we can't see into the future and thus we can't see what He is protecting us from.  As we all are His present day disciples we don't get to pick which answer we like but we are to accept and obey each answer He gives.  May we all grow stronger in every area of life and be able to give thanks for all things.  My confidence in you is high as the Lord is pleased to release greater and greater blessings to you and your house.
This Sunday morning Dr. Ann Gillies will be sharing with us the word of the Lord.  Ann has helped many people recover from many forms of trauma and dysfunction.  Sunday evening 7:30 Aroma, which is a part of our church worship team will be ministering songs of praise and worship that they have been anointed by the Lord to write.  This will be professionally recorded by Little House of Faith Productions.  All are welcome to attend this history making event.

Jesus said in Luke 15:1 "...It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come!"   An offense is more often the result of the way something has been said rather than the facts of what has been said.  Ephesians 4:15 "speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head Christ."  The bare truth can be blunt, harsh, abrasive, and sting like a bee.  Many of the hurts that occur in our personal relationships are the result of facts spoken without love.  Later when we are trying to deal with the hurts we can miss the fact that feelings have been wounded.  Jesus died for our sins which are a fact, but the underlining truth about God is, God is love.  No matter how He deals with us about what we need to fix, we know He loves us.  1 Peter 4:8 "above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.”  We say the truth shall set you free but freeing truth is divinely connected to love.  John 13:35 Jesus said, "By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”  Go into today with a loving heart for people, whenever and wherever you meet them.
This is Thanksgiving Sunday, I will be sharing on, 'Keeping Thankful.'  It's one thing to give thanks for something that you received and it's another thing to keep in thanks to God for all things that come your way each day.
Next Sunday we have a special guest in the morning, Dr. Ann Gillies.  She is a national leader with the Franklin Graham disaster relief foundation.  She has been here in Cape Breton several times dealing with the flood we experienced last year and the follow up connected with the flood.
Wait for it....Oct 15th Sunday evening @7:30 members from our church worship team (Aroma) will be holding a live concert to record songs that they have written to worship and praise the Lord.  Other churches have also been invited and as our praises go up may His glory come down and may many people receive a fresh touch from the Holy Spirit.

When we speak our words contain power and we release that power into the world around us.  Proverbs 18:21 "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit."  The trouble is it doesn't say that 'life and life' are in the power of the tongue but it declares that death and life are in the power of our tongue.  We have the ability to choose what words we will speak but once we speak, our words have the power to fulfill their assignment.  Isaiah 55:11 "So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it."  Life words will bring light and light has the power to dispel the darkness.  Death words will bring darkness and darkness is the realm where our enemy works.  Our assignment and prayer for today Psalm 141:3 "Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips.  Hebrews 13:15 "Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name."   My confidence in you is high to speak wisely and have a blessed day.
This Sunday is Family Sunday and the Holy Spirit has been using this event to draw many people to the Kingdom of God.  Please invite a friend and bring some food as we start at 10:15 with Food and Fellowship followed by the morning service.  We provide name tags for everyone to help us all get to know each other better.  Thank you for being a part of our growing church.  Our last Family Sunday we had around 270 people in the service and I have been praying that we will soon reach 300.

The Lord often reveals things to us that are a long way off in our future.  What He expects from us has never changed, it's to faithfully follow His direction to arrive at the His Divine destination.  We seldom ever reach anything great with one giant leap of faith but it's rather the continual smaller steps of a righteous person that are ordered of the Lord.   It's the love, joy, and peace in our heart today that work to lead us into a greater place of blessing tomorrow.  We learn to come together as a people, who willingly walk together as a family, who learn how to keep together to receive protection from our enemies, and continue to work together to reach divine successGod has designed the journey in such a way that you can't make it alone.  Someone may rub you the wrong way but together the Lord will lead us all in the right direction.  I have seen many things that the Lord put in my future come to pass and it has always been connected to who I am connected to.  Last Sunday a young lady came to me after the service and said that she had accepted Jesus as her Savior and Lord.  I said, 'welcome to the great and glorious Family of God.'  I thank God for all of you and my confidence is high that your blessed days and your best days are forever unfolding in your future.
Saturday evening there's Youth 7-9
This Sunday I will be sharing, 'Acts Of Your Age.'  We often tell people to act their age not knowing that your natural age may have very little to do with how mature you act.  God is love and love is the key that opens the door to reveal our level of maturity.
Next Sunday Alice and I will be away.  I am the Atlantic Canada director for the fellowship of churches that our church connects with across Canada. (CFCM)  It is this group that will be hosting this leadership event in St. John's Newfoundland.
The following Sunday will bring us into Oct. 1st and that's Family Sunday.  Invite someone now to join you then.  Also in Oct. we are planning another evening of Worship.  This event will be to open to the public and will be professionally recorded to offer people original music that's been given to our Worship Team through the Holy Spirit.  To God be the glory great things He has done.

I have always tried to see the church as a family.  What a healthy church should look like is what you would see in a healthy home.  Early this morning as I was praying I thought about us having unity among us, in order to learn to work in harmony together, that we might create a sound within us, that flows out from among us, that would reach Heaven and change earth.  If we live outside the room of unity, then we are outside the reach of personal inward change.  Without the willingness to change us to fit in with those that are around us there will never be the unity that we seek, to create the harmony that we need, to gain the results that we long for.  My confidence in you is high that we are in the process of seeing great things happen at our Church and in all the churches that proclaim Jesus as Lord.  Psalm 133:1&4 "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! ....For there the Lord commanded the blessing— Life forevermore."  And in that place of unity among the people, the Lord commanded the blessing.  We are learning how to become that place.
We have with us this weekend the musical family, "Double Portion."  They will be doing a concert in Glace Bay at Bethel Family Church Saturday @7 and will be joining with us Sunday morning.
This for us is our Family Sunday.  We start at 10:15 with food and fellowship followed by the morning service.  Bring food and friends and I will be sharing a word, "Action Calls For Reaction."  When others treat you badly they may not be the source of your problems.  Let's go deeper together that we might be healed by the power of the Lord Jesus

God made us as a three part being.  One part is the outer shell that we call the body, the inner part is called our soul, (our mind, will, and emotions) and the third part is our spirit.  God has put each person in charge over all three parts of who they are.  We are to look after our body, to renew our mind, and to follow our spirit.  When God speaks to us He considered all three parts of who we are and thus when He speaks, He speaks to the whole person.  When we speak to others we can make the mistake of only addressing one area of who they are because that area has received our attention.  Wisdom from God would be to follow His example and look deeper, look beyond the surface of the current problem that has captured our attention and consider the whole person.  How are you doing today... physically, mentally, and spiritually?  When you look at others the way God sees you, you'll be able to speak to others the way God speaks to you.  My confidence in you is high.
This Saturday, tomorrow evening 7-9 at the school (our church) the Youth are invited for an evening of fun and fellowships and making friends.
Sunday morning I'll be sharing, 'Why Me Lord?'  Why do we go through things that conflict with our faith?  That little voice in our mind that accuses us, 'I thought you were a Christian?'
It's now September and a lot of our church programs are starting up.  Join in where you can and go deeper in the things of the Lord.  Some people have asked about being Baptised, please let Pastor Bruce know if you are wanting to do that.  Also if you have recently renewed your faith and have accepted Jesus and would like to learn more, there will be New Life classes offered

A pain is said to be anything that causes us upset, agony, turmoil, irritation, discomfort, misery, hurt, strain, or torment.  In life when we have a pain we should pray and believe God for healing.  When pain persist we can also see a doctor and hope for a cure.  If a pain is caused by something we're doing then we will avoid doing it.  What happens when the pain is caused by a person or a person is the source of your pain?  Well, if the person is a pain we will avoid being around them.  The key to having friends is learning how to handle the pain that's around you without becoming the pain yourself.  In marriage if people are avoiding each other, someone is seen as the source of pain.  As Christians we need to learn how to have on the inside an abundance of love, joy, and peace if we are going to be the source of those things to others.  Isaiah 58:8 "Then your light shall break forth like the morning, your healing shall spring forth speedily, and your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard."  My confidence in you is high that you are closer now than ever before to receiving His abundant blessing.
This Sunday we are having a baby dedication and we will be also having special prayer for the sick.  I'll be sharing, "Your Path Reveals Your Heart."  Jesus said, 'follow Me.'  Where I see you and when I see you reveals to me the condition of your heart.
Next Sunday is Family Sunday with special music, food, fellowship, and word.  So bring some food and invite some friends and let's celebrate together our love for Jesus.

What did you dream last night?  God can give you a dream in the night season that gives you direction during the day.  Like the wise men that came to see baby Jesus.  Matthew 2:12 "And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route."  God could have sent an Angel to tell them or just another person to warn them but He spoke to them in a dream.  Joseph, the boy with the coat of many colours spent his entire life, living the dream.  We have been created by God and He gave us the ability to dream.  In both an Old Testament and a New Testament this doorway was used by God to speak to us.  God uses many ways to bring us His love and grace and I pray for you that the Lord speaks to you today.  My Confidence is high for you to walk in the favor of the Lord.
Today our Youth are heading for their Youth Weekend at the Rock Church.  Pray for them to all receive a touch from Heaven.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing the Word of the Lord with you.  Come expecting and bring a friend.
We are 2 weeks away from Family Sunday Sept 3rd and we are planning to have special guest in music, 'Double Portion.'

Psalm 119:14 "I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, as much as in all riches."  There is nothing wrong with having riches and enjoying the good things that this world can provide.  The Psalmist is saying that his rejoicing over the personal internal goodness of God is equal to having great provision around him.  We shouldn't need to receive a new house or drive a new car to rejoice when we remember what the Lord has done for us.  My testimony is one of being greatly lost and then wonderfully found, totally blind but now I can marvellously see.  I was dead in my sins but now am alive, praise the Lord!  I declare that it's no longer I that lives but Christ lives in me.
When we forget our profound testimony we may need another reason to rejoice but when we remember what the Lord has done for us we need no other reason to rejoice.  Confidence in you is high that you will go into today will a smile on your face and a song in your heart for what the Lord has done for you.  (And yes amen....the Lord has not forgotten His promise towards you.)
There will be a bonfire tonight for the youth, 7:30pm to 9:30pm at Mark and Amy’s home ( 171 Curry street, Howie Centre ).

Also if you are attending Youth Shiloh weekend, please send Amy an email to confirm your spot in a vehicle and a place to stay.
Hope to see you tonight !!
This Sunday morning I will be sharing, 'Life Storms.'  Storms are a part of life and the Lord gives us promises to help us rise above them.  Would you like to rise above?
We are moving on through summer and soon it will be time for Family SundayIt's Sept. 3rd so start thinking about what you plan to bring and who will plan to invite.  I thank the Lord for His presence in the church and the wonderful people that come together each Sunday to worship Him.

It's amazing what you'll have to say once you have mastered the art of listening.  James 1:9 "So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath."  James uses the word swift to describe how we should listen.  Then to be slow when it comes to talking and slow to get angry.  Doing something slowly or quickly is a decision that's made in your mind.  To run or walk in a choice.  James is saying that you need to make a decision about hearing, talking, and anger management.  You can talk, talk, talk but your abundance of words does not mean anyone is listening.  A good listener is not listening to judge what you have to say or even learn from what you're saying but they are listening in love to know what to say when it's time to speak.  It's by us listening to the Holy Spirit who is our God given guide that we are led into greater levels of ministry and truth.  May we all hear inwardly from Heaven today that we may have the wisdom to change the world around us.
This Sunday I'll be sharing, 'All Roads Go Somewhere.'  You can go down the wrong road or be on the right road but every road you travel brings you somewhere.
I will be away the following two Sundays.  Pastor Mark and Pastor Bruce will be sharing the word of the Lord.
We are planning a Special Fellowship Sunday on our church property Aug. 6th.  The service would start @10:30 with a fellowship time to follow.  If it rains we would have our service back at the church, 500 Terrace St.

I have said before that our memory is attached to our feelings.  The greater the feelings that we had in a past event, the greater our memory will be of that event.  At a wedding one person may remember every detail while another person remembers very little.  They were both there but one was more emotionally there than the other person.  When a person comes to church they may not remember the message that I spoke or the music that was sung but they will remember how everyone made them feel.  You will meet people today and talk to them, after you leave them, they may not remember what you said but they will remember how you made them feel.   1 Thessalonians 5:11 "Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing."  Ask yourself, 'How do people feel after they meet me?'  Jesus said in Matthew 5:16 'Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.'  Leaving a lasting impression will not be done with the wisest words that you can speak but it will be done with your works of love as people give glory to God.  Go into today and ask the Holy Spirit to help you to encourage and make others feel the love that comes from a good God.  My confidence in you is high.
This Sunday I will be sharing, 'What Drains You? What Fills You?'  We all know what it's like to feel drained but what happened to drain us?  We all have the promise of fullness of life so how do we find fullness?
Continue to pray for all those in need.  Looking forward to seeing you soon, lots of love, have a blessed day, Pastor Kevin and Alice

I try to send this email out each Friday; if you no longer want to receive this email please let me know.  If there is someone new to the church and they would like to be added to my list please let me know.  Thank you so much....

Galatians 22:-23 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law."  Spiritual fruit grows in us by us following spiritual truth found in God's word.  There are inward responses of the heart that help us develop and harvest the outward expression of these fruit.  Romans 10:17 "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."  When we want to grow good faith we must be hearing God's word.  The more of the word we hear the better the faith we grow.  John 7:38 "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”  As we believe in Jesus and grow in all things there is a river in us that flows to those around us and has the power to change everything.  As we grow together in all things my confidence is high that you are a world changer and a history maker.
This Sunday I want to share on, 'Your Decree Is Your Life.'  Job 25:28 "Thou shall also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.”  Speak the right thing and walk in the right direction.
Don't forget that Family Sunday starts again in the fall.  (No need to bring food this Sunday.)  Service time on Sunday is 10:30 am

1 Corinthians 4:15 "For though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers..."  It's almost as if you are very fortunate to have a good spiritual father in our life.  According to the verse there are far more men in our world who are willing to give you advice than there are fathers who are willing to live according to the advice that they give.  Proverbs 20:7 "The righteous man walks in his integrity; His children are blessed after him."  We as the children of God are blessed by our Heavenly Father and a righteous father on earth is a blessing to his children.  Our Heavenly Father is all that He is ever going to be while we must strive to become all that we are going to be.  We press towards the mark or work on ourselves to obtain all the qualities of being a good father.  Confidence is high in our spiritual men that we are becoming more loving, kind, honest, truthful, trustworthy, and faithful with strong moral principles.  Bless you dad's and be a plus to someone you meet today.
This Sunday is Father's Day and I will be sharing, "What Were You Thinking?"  We live according to what we think and we can only think according to what we know.  We often need to know more to no more repeat past mistakes.

In life we all have things that happen that make us happy and things that make us sad.  At times it's been the sad events that make us really appreciate the happy events.   It's the times that we cried that help us to enjoy a good laugh.  It's like those cold winter days that make us really enjoy a warm day like yesterday.  The trouble is there are some people who don't like either cold or hot days and will find something to complain about in everyday.  The strength or the energy that we use to complain, worry, and be fearful could go to better use when we declare that goodness, mercy, love, joy, and peace shall follow me all the days of my life.  It's been said that things turn out best for people who make the best out of the way things turn outPsalm 118:24 "This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it."  Learn to enjoy the moment you're in, to love the family and friends you have, to rejoice and be glad in the day that the Lord has made for you.  Confidence is high that you are wiser than you used to be and your best days are yet to come.
Last Family Sunday was wonderful and three hands were raised to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior.  Our God keeps good books and I thank Him for so many people who work in the church to make us who we are.
This Sunday I will be sharing, 'Looking Back or Looking Next.'  The past can be good and have things in it that give us a sense of comfort and peace.  What's next?  In God next can be totally different than the past, are you ready for what's next?

Friday, June 2nd, 2017

On the day of Pentecost the disciples were in the upper room in one accord and the Holy Spirit came and filled them with power to witness.  They had recently been through some things together that could have divided them but through it all they became more unified than ever.  What the devil tried to do to divide them happened at the cross, but God used the resurrection to reunite them back together.  We need to always remember that when one door closes God always opens another one.  The trouble is we can look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the new door that God has opened before us.   Our fellowship (fellows together on a ship) is tested when there is hardship. (problems on a ship)  Jesus endured the cross (the hardship) for the joy that was set before Him. (our sweet fellowship)  Look beyond your past problems and look into your bright future, for your best days are yet to come.  I have great confidence in you that God will bless your words and the work of your hands today.
Tomorrow evening @7 Lumber River Quartet will be giving a live concert at Bethel Family Church in Glace Bay.  Everyone is invited so plan to attend.
Get ready, get ready, get ready....it's Family Sunday at the Fellowship.  We gather at 10:15 for food and fellowship and thank you for wearing a name tag on Family Sunday as it really helps us to get to know each other better.  Special guest on Sunday is the Lumber River Quartet and I will be sharing, 'What's Your Motive?'  Why do we do what we do and how does the devil fool us into doing what we shouldn't be doing?  Make lots of food and bring a friend and lets believe for miracles to happen.  Let me thank you for the willing loving work that you do to make our church what God wants us to be.

In a world where you are encouraged to become anything you want to become, try becoming more kind, nice, helpful, hopeful, loving, giving, and friendly.  Being friendly means being happy to meet others and then it means being a good listener.  A good listener is someone who can be trusted to keep private information private.  A good listener can hear you when you are upset and not be upset with you.  Jesus is our example of a true friend and He is always happy to see you coming to talk with Him and He is a good listener.  1 Peter 5:7 "casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you."  As you learn to grow in faith, take a moment to talk to God about your needs, and then go into today being more like Jesus to others.  My confidence is high that this will be a great day of blessing for you.
This Sunday I will be sharing, "Through Stuff."  We all go through stuff but do we all allow what we go through to help us to become strong and fruitful?
We would like to have your picture.  We are working on an on-line photo album of the friends and family at the Fellowship Church.  This will be a great way for all of us to get to know each other better.
Next Sunday June 4th is FAMILY SUNDAY!!!  Food, fun, friendship, and fellowship with special music by the Lumber River Quartet.  These guys are a great Southern Gospel group that love the Lord Jesus so invite your friends and bring lots of food.  Let's celebrate Jesus as we lift Him higher and we expect to see miracles, signs, and wonders.
