We all need to plan each day to be who you want to become.  Each day is filled with different decisions that offer different directions that lead us to different places.  It's good to know before you start the day where you want to be by the end of the day.  Psalm 113:3 "From the rising of the sun to its going down The Lord’s name is to be praised." If we start the day in praise and end the day in praise we have had a good day.  May each new day be a day overflowing with the blessing of God for you and your family.
The Ladies Conference starts tonight at the Sydney Pentecostal Church.  This Sunday in the morning service Pastor Mark will be sharing the Word of the Lord and in the evening Evangelist Eileen Mills who is the guest speaker at the Ladies Conference will be bringing the Word.  It's going to be a great Sunday in the house of the Lord.
Next Wednesday evening at 7 is an hour of prayer with the other churches in our community.  It's at the Spanish River community center.  Come to rejoice, pray, and believe for a mighty move of God.  Next Sunday is our Family Sunday and it's going to be good.
Continue to pray for all those in need of a miracle.  Lots of love, looking forward to seeing you, Pastor Kevin and Alice

It's great to start everyday with the Lord as a brand new day.  Lamentations 3:22-23 "Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not.  They are new every morning." Psalm 113:3 "From the rising of the sun to its going down The Lord’s name is to be praised."  Psalm 69:19 Blessed be the Lord, Who daily loads us with benefits, The God of our salvation! Selah."
To arise every day and know that it's a new day and that the Lord can do something great today in the land of the living.  Yesterday is passed beyond our ability to change it, tomorrow will arrive packed with its own needs but today is the now and our God loves to move in the now.  I pray that this day, today, right now will be a wonderful day for you and your family.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing on, 'I Saw The Lord.'  Everything changes when you see the Lord for who He really is for in that moment He reveals to you who you really are.  Sunday evening, 'Moving Forward.'  If Jesus is still building His Church then He has not completed His Church yet so we as members together are always advancing to the next stage of the building project.  Working as it were till the job is done and the trumpet sounds or the whistle blows.
Coming up on Wednesday April 29 at 7 there will be an hour of prayer at the Spanish River Hall.  We are inviting other churches to join with us to work together that we will stir our hearts to be able to walk in a higher level of Christian unity.
Continue to pray for all those in need, looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

What a wonderful Easter weekend it's been as we have been enjoying the different events.  The Men's Breakfast was top notch and Martin and all the workers did a great job feeding and making everyone feel welcome.  Tomorrow morning is Easter and Family Sunday so we start at 10:15 with food and fellowship.  Everyone bring something good to eat for all of us to enjoy.  At the Men's Breakfast Pastor Cyril gave an outstanding message on 'I Need Your Donkey.'  I am sure that his message tomorrow morning will stir us all up to do greater things for the Kingdom of God.  There is no evening service on Family Sunday.  Alice and I will be away next week visiting family.  Continue to pray for all those in need.  Looking forward to seeing you in the morning, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Palm Sunday is here.  It's the time in history when Jesus the Son of God rode into Jerusalem on a donkey and the crowds cheered and waved palm branches.  When I looked at this event I always had a question; how do normal people bow down, wave, and worship and a few days later cry out crucify, crucify?  It never sat right in my mind as a normal story.  Something was missing, either the first part was wrong or the second part was wrong.  Maybe it's two different crowds or two different cities.  I have learned over the years that when I have a question, just hold steady and the Lord will answer when I am ready to hear the answer.  One day the Holy Spirit said this story happened as it happened but it seems strange because of the hearts of the people involved were hidden in the waving but reveled in Pilate's courtroom.  Their motive to worship was to receive an earthly king hoping He would assume an earthly kingdom.  When that didn't happen their true words were spoken and their heart revealed.  The caution for us is to be careful who applauds us and make sure that their applause lines up with the motives that are in our heart.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing with you about, 'The Donkey.'  Why did Jesus ride into Jerusalem on a lowly beast of burden?  Sunday evening Pastor Mark will be sharing with us.  Mark always shares with us a revelation from the Lord.  Invite a friend to join you.
Next Friday is Good Friday and we'll be joining with Bethel Pentecostal Church in Glace Bay.  This is a great time to show Christian unity in the Community as we join with other believers.  Saturday morning @ 8:30 am is the Men's Breakfast at the Salvation Army Church in Sydney.  If you are a student at the CBU and you need a drive call Martin 902-539-5355 and he will look after you.  Our guest speaker is Pastor Cyril Rogers from Corner Brook Newfoundland.  Then it's Easter Sunday and it's also Family Sunday so we start at 10:15 will food and fellowship followed by the morning service. Pastor Cyril will be our speaker.  We end the service with Communion and there is no evening service on Family Sunday.  The food we share is the good food that you bring so bring lots and let's have a wonderful time together.
Continue to pray for those in need, looking forward to seeing you.... lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

It's here, the first day of spring according to the calendar has arrived.  If you look outside it still looks a lot like winter.  I guess we need to ask God to update His Face Book Page or could all this snow be a lesson in faith.  The truth is Spring 2015 has come and the season has changed even if our circumstances haven't.  The outward appearance may look a lot like last season hasn't left yet but the inward truth declares it's changed and it won't be long before the truth turns the grass green and we hear birds singing.  Serving God is often like this, His Spirit informs us that it's a new day, season's have changed, the way it was is not the way it shall be and we look around and nothing has changed yet.  Faith is the inward voice that believes that change is coming to your house and you start to prepare for what's coming rather than complaining about what is.  Exercise your faith today and rejoice for in the days ahead the Lord will be doing great things for His people.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing on, 'The Middle Man.'  We all have to live life but how we view Jesus has everything to do with our success in life.  Sunday evening, 'Hearing From God.'  When we hear something it maybe good but does that make it God?  How do we know it's God when it's God?
Continue to pray for those in need.  Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Praise the Lord, it's a good thing to be standing on the Lord's side.  Psalm 5:12 "For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield."  To have the favor of the Lord upon us is to have doors of opportunity open before us.  There is also a second part of favor and that is to have the Lord encamp around about us to protect us like a shield.  The enemy would have hit you but you found favor in the eyes of the Lord.  The good news is we can often clearly see when doors open before us but we may not be as quick to notice when the enemy's plans have been destroyed before they ever reach us.  I expect the Lord to go before me to open doors that need to be opened and I also expect to walk in His Almighty Divine protection.  This protection means I may have to walk through something but I am walking through.  Favor means I don't have to fear, Yea though I walk through a valley there is a mountain on the other side of this valley with a door of great opportunity for me.  Today, lift up your head as you walk in the favor of the Lord.
This Sunday Lord willing and weather permitting in the morning I'll be sharing on, "Redeemed what does it mean?" God had a purpose when He redeemed you and brought you into His Kingdom.  We are to serve the Lord, what does that look like?  In the evening, "Hearing From God."  When we hear something it maybe good but it may not be God.  How do we know it's God?
Continue to pray for those in need.  Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

It's a great day to rejoice in the wonderful grace of God.  God's amazing grace is seen in His ability to look at us and give us mercy because we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord.  If He looked at everything else we've done all our righteousness is as dirty rags but He who sent His Son agreed that whoever receives His Son He would receive into His family.  Our goal now as believers is to faithfully lovingly follow Jesus.  How do we do that?  Jesus said John 14:21 "He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him."  Who did Jesus say loves Him?  How can we tell who is following Jesus?  It is those that love Him by keeping His word, even when keeping His word is different than following our own desire.  In pure love we lay down our will to follow His word.  The key then is not our perfection but to be in love with Jesus and those that love Him He reveals Himself in them with love, joy, and peace.  Today reveal His love and others will see your good works and glorify the Father in Heaven.
Tomorrow is the BIG Holy Spirit Christian Fellowship Wagon Ride at Two Rivers Wildlife Park.  The forecast is -2 or -3 so dress warm, take lots of pictures, and enjoy the day with your family and friends.  If you are on wagon rides 1 through 6 you should arrive at the Park around 11:30, if you are on wagon rides 7 though 12 you should be at the Park by 2pm.
On Sunday morning I'll be sharing with you, 'Wholeness Is Possible.'  We've all sinned and because of sin we have all been broken.  How is sin so powerful that it can hurt us all?  Is it possible to ever recover and be well?  Sunday evening I'll be sharing with you, 'Contending For the Faith.'  There are those that challenge our faith and there are times when we must contend for what we believe.  Come to church expecting great things to happen for you and those around you.
Next month is Easter and on Good Friday we are joining with Bethel Pentecostal Church in Glace Bay for a morning service.  On Saturday morning we're having our annual Men's Breakfast held at the Salvation Army Church in Sydney with special guest Pastor Cyril Rogers from Corner Brook Newfoundland.  Pastor Cyril will be also with us for Easter Sunday morning.
Continue to pray for those in need, looking forward to seeing you, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice.

Winter is passing and spring is just around the corner.  Depending on what you like this truth is good news to some or not so good news for others.  If you like the winter then it's a sad time as winter leaves us but if you like spring then it's a happy time.  In life the Bible tells us to everything there is a season and seasons do come and seasons do go.  The good news is in every season there is a divine purpose and when we find God's purpose for the season we can rejoice.  I was talking with a Pastor who had been very sick and he said he used to have his favorite season but now that he's alive and well he enjoys them all.  Sometimes we need to go through some things to appreciate the things we have.  When rough times are over we can tend to like anytime that isn't rough.  We can't always avoid the test but we can walk with Him who holds the answers.  We can learn how to lean on Jesus.  Let's not wish a season away but let's discover it's divine purpose and be glad in it.
Tomorrow morning 8:30 is the Men's Breakfast at Sydney Pentecostal Church.  It's always a good time to invite a friend.
This is Family Sunday and that means we start at 10:15 with food and fellowship followed by the morning service.  This Sunday I'll be sharing on, 'Unusual Resources.'  God has many ways to do the things He does and often His ways surprise us.  When we come to the end of our road and face a brick wall, He makes a way where there seems to be no way.  He opens a door for us to do much more than we expected.  On Family Sunday we serve Communion and there is no evening service.  If you would like to go out somewhere Faith Baptist is having an evening fellowship as they celebrate 60 years.
This Wednesday at Bible Study we'll look at the Lord's prayer.  There is the prayer as Jesus told it and there is the prayer as we have heard it.  Sometimes what we have heard limits what He has said.
Next Saturday is our Fellowship Wagon Ride at Two Rivers Wildlife Park.  The Church Men's group have been working hard to help make this event a blessing for you and your family.   There are almost 200 people signed up so make sure that you are there at the time you signed up for.  That means if you are signed up for 1 pm you have a half hour car ride from Sydney to the Two Rivers parking lot then another 5 to 10 minutes from your car to the wagon area.  Then another 5 to 10 minutes getting into your group and prepared for the events that will follow.  May the Holy Spirit bless you with great success.
Continue to pray for all those in need.  Looking forward to seeing you, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Psalm 18:30 "As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him."  Here are three great truths about God.  Have you ever heard the statement, 'No one is perfect.'  Well there is One who is perfect and He, the Perfect One, has proven Himself to be faithful and true and He is a shield to ALL who trust in Him.  Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths."  He can lead us or direct us in His way and His perfect way leads us into all truth.  Psalm 37:23 "The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way."  We can excuse ourselves from trying to follow the Lord by saying, 'No one is perfect.'  When we do that we fail to understand that the perfect One is God and not us.  We can only follow Jesus by putting our trust in Jesus and not in our perfection.  It's a matter of us trusting the Lord that He leads us out of all things that are evil and into all things that are good.  Trust the Lord today to work in you and bring you waves of His wonderful love, joy, and peace.
This Sunday the Lord willing and weather permitting Pastor Rob Jones from Faith Baptist Church will be sharing the vision for a Christian Radio Station with us.  Hope FM will cover our area so let's come prepared to give an offering to support this ministry.  Sunday evening I'll be sharing on, 'Ferris Wheel Christians.'  Going up, up, up, down, down, down, around and around and around, getting off where they got on, and seeing wow things.  Every church offers us a ride or every church has a form of Godliness but it takes the power of God to work the works of the Kingdom.  Without the power the ride doesn't work and there is nothing new to see.
Continue to pray for all those in need. Lots of love, looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Jesus and His disciples were walking through a grain field on the Sabbath.  His disciples picked grain and some religious people who were watching said, 'this isn't right.'  Jesus replied in Mark 2:27-28 "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.  So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath."  It's funny how we can become so religious that we feel that we are more in charge of things than God.  We become so use to the rules that the rules become more right than anything else.  Good rules are usually made at a certain time to meet a certain need.  When things change, so should the rules.  The trouble comes when rules don't change and the once good rules hinder us from moving forward into something new.  If things couldn't change then we would only have the Old Testament.  Jesus changed the rules on the cross and offers us freedom from sin.  Allow the Lord who made you rule over you with love, joy, and peace.

Zechariah 2:6 "Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from the land of the north, says the Lord: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, says the Lord."  They say there's a scripture that fits every situation and on days like this this verse must have been written for us and all the snow birds.  God is good and the cold on the outside can't change the heart warming song of the Lord on the inside.  There is within my heart a melody, Jesus whispers sweet and low.  Thanks be to the Lord that He is God all the time.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing on, 'Going Through.'  In this life we all get to go through stuff.  The good news is we are going though as the Holy Spirit leads us from where we are to where He wants us to be.  Sunday evening Pastor Mark will be sharing the word of the Lord.  Come expecting a miracle.
Next Sunday Feb. 15th in our morning service Pastor Rob Jones from Faith Baptist Church will be sharing with us a vision for a 24 hr Christian Radio Station.
