Palm Sunday is here.  It's the time in history when Jesus the Son of God rode into Jerusalem on a donkey and the crowds cheered and waved palm branches.  When I looked at this event I always had a question; how do normal people bow down, wave, and worship and a few days later cry out crucify, crucify?  It never sat right in my mind as a normal story.  Something was missing, either the first part was wrong or the second part was wrong.  Maybe it's two different crowds or two different cities.  I have learned over the years that when I have a question, just hold steady and the Lord will answer when I am ready to hear the answer.  One day the Holy Spirit said this story happened as it happened but it seems strange because of the hearts of the people involved were hidden in the waving but reveled in Pilate's courtroom.  Their motive to worship was to receive an earthly king hoping He would assume an earthly kingdom.  When that didn't happen their true words were spoken and their heart revealed.  The caution for us is to be careful who applauds us and make sure that their applause lines up with the motives that are in our heart.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing with you about, 'The Donkey.'  Why did Jesus ride into Jerusalem on a lowly beast of burden?  Sunday evening Pastor Mark will be sharing with us.  Mark always shares with us a revelation from the Lord.  Invite a friend to join you.
Next Friday is Good Friday and we'll be joining with Bethel Pentecostal Church in Glace Bay.  This is a great time to show Christian unity in the Community as we join with other believers.  Saturday morning @ 8:30 am is the Men's Breakfast at the Salvation Army Church in Sydney.  If you are a student at the CBU and you need a drive call Martin 902-539-5355 and he will look after you.  Our guest speaker is Pastor Cyril Rogers from Corner Brook Newfoundland.  Then it's Easter Sunday and it's also Family Sunday so we start at 10:15 will food and fellowship followed by the morning service. Pastor Cyril will be our speaker.  We end the service with Communion and there is no evening service on Family Sunday.  The food we share is the good food that you bring so bring lots and let's have a wonderful time together.
Continue to pray for those in need, looking forward to seeing you.... lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice
