Praise Him our God, Creator, Saviour, and Lord.  John 1:3 "All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made."  At Christmas we can be busy doing lots of things and then looking at what we have done with joy.  We have decorated the tree, made special food, and bought certain gifts.  Last night as I prayed and reflected on this Christmas I thanked the Lord for all the things that He has done for me.  Yes I have planted and watered but it's truly only God who brings good increase to what any of us have done.  Take a moment today to say over your life, 'to God be the glory for the great things that He has done.'
We have a busy weekend on the go.  Saturday morning @10 there is a choir practice at the church as they prepare for next weekend.  Then @12:30 there is a full Sunday School practice for the play that they will be performing Sunday morning.  After the morning service on Sunday there is another choir practice for 1 hour and there will be no evening service this Sunday.
Next Friday @7 our choir will be singing at the Mayflower Mall.  Also Dec. 24th Christmas Eve @10:15 am we will gather @ Loaves and Fishes to sing Christmas songs.
Continue to pray for those in need, lots of love, looking forward to seeing you, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Bless the Lord oh my soul and praise His Holy name.  I once read a book called, 'Falling Forward.'  It was about the fact that we all make mistakes and we all fail or fall as we are learning to walk the good walk of faith.  We need to know that in falling forward we fell in the direction of our goal and as we get up we'll be closer to our goal than when we fell.  Proverbs 24: 16 "For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again."  Success or failure is not found in how many times you fell but in how many times you got back up.  Falling can be hurtful and getting back up may require some effort from you and those around you.  This is why we are called a family and helping each other is what we do.  As I have walked with God, I've been helped by others and times when I've helped others to be encouraged to continue to fight the good fight off faith.  Let us today be God's hands extended as we help and bless those that are around us.
This Saturday, that's tomorrow night we're having our Family Christmas Banquet.  It starts at 6 pm at the church and you should come early to get a good seat as we celebrate that Jesus is the Reason for the Season.  Our guest speaker is Glen Tetford and he will also be with us for our 10:30 Sunday morning service.  Glen is really a down to earth guy with an up to Heaven message.  You will be blessed by his insight into the word of God.  There will be no Sunday evening service this week.
Continue to pray for those in need, looking forward to seeing you, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Friday 29 November 2013

Friday, November 29th, 2013

Praise the Lord for He is good.  What is salvation?  Is it making flawed people perfect?  No, it's making flawed people accepted into the family of God.  None of us are perfect...well most of us aren't.  There are some people who think that they are perfect and everyone else is flawed.  There are others who really know that they are flawed but they believe that someone they know is perfect.  The balance is knowing Romans 3:19 "there is none righteous, no, not one."  And Romans 3:24 "for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God."  Then accept John 1:12 "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name."  The promise is not to reach perfection but to have a real relationship with the living God.  Who I was and who I am has changed because who's I was and who's I am has changed.  Jesus is our Lord.
This is Family Sunday so bring some food and friends and come early (15 minutes early).  The food will be set up in the music room (across from the bathrooms) for the first time as we try to work with the seating in the service.  I'll be sharing a message entitled, "Ready To Sing."  Are you ready to sing even when it looks like you have nothing to sing about?  Today's Faith will cause you to be singing today about tomorrow's victory.  We will be serving Communion and on Family Sunday there is no evening service.
There will be no Church Bible Study on Wednesday until the New Year to make the hall available for Christmas choir practice.  Next Saturday 6pm is our Annual Christmas Banquet.  We have over 250 tickets out there which means that this will be our largest Christmas banquet ever.  Another history making moment, like last Sunday was when we opened the overflow for the first time.  To God be all the praise and glory for the great things that He is doing towards us.  Thank you for working together in love in the newness of this hour
Continue to pray for those in need, looking forward to seeing you, lot's of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Praise the Lord for His mercy and grace.  We thank God for the growth in the numbers of new people that are attending the church.  That being said, a growth in maturity within the church happened before the growth in numbers.  This is a true principle, even in creation babies can't give birth to babies but it's the mature adults that gives birth to babies.  It's the job of the  Holy Spirit to add to the church such as should be saved.  In the early church new people were added daily.  If daily 20 people got saved and they all came to church the following week, there would be 140 new people in the church each week.  That would be wonderful but it's the job of the Holy Spirit to first look at the church and as the church is mature enough to handle some babies, the Holy Spirit calls them and sends them along.  I encourage you to grow in mercy and grace and allow the love of God to be shed abroad in your heart.
Tomorrow at Chant's Funeral Home there will be the home going service for Marjorie Conrad who was a faithful member of our congregation.  From 12 noon till 2 is visitation with the family, the funeral is @2 followed by a time of fellowship.  We pray for Divine comfort to all of Marjorie's family and friends.
Sunday morning we will be having as special guest the Burke Family singing the songs of Christmas.  I will also share a message, 'Broken Pieces A New Day.'  Many times after we are broken down it's hard to be built up.  Jesus offers hope to broken people.  Sunday evening Pastor Mark with be sharing on, 'Kingdom Tension.'  There are many pressures today coming from many voices and we need to hear the clear word of the Lord and hold it tightly in our heart.
Next Sunday Dec. 1st is Family Sunday so plan to come early, bring some food, and some friends.
Continue to pray for those in need, looking forward to seeing you all, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Friday, November 15th, 2013

Praise the Lord Jesus for He is good.  Have you changed any in the last year?  I don't mean just in age where you got a year older but do you act and think differently?  Are you any different today than say you were five years ago?   As I was thinking about this question I wondered about others who were negative before and didn't get along with others, have they changed?  Sometimes we judge people based on who they used to be and over time they changed but we don't know about it.  We meet them and say, 'wow, they are sure different than they used to be.'  The Holy Spirit said to me,'That's one good reason not to hold a grudge for the old grudge may no longer apply to the renewed person.'  It's a new day as long as you don't drag hurts and grudges into your new day an wreck it. This is the new day that the Lord has made for you to enjoy so rejoice and be glad in it.
Don't forget that this is the last Sunday to bring in your Christmas Shoe Boxes.  Also please pick up your Christmas banquet tickets as soon as possible as we are reaching the max number for the room.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing on, 'Keeping Praise Alive."  Our praise makes a landing pad for God's Holy presence to fill the church.  Without praise and worship the church becomes empty and void of life.  I will enter His gates (the church) with thanksgiving in my heart and I will enter His courts (the inner place) with praise.  Sunday evening, 'Who Owns You?'  We say that we belong to God but we often worry about stuff that our owner Jesus, who is our Lord and Saviour is to be looking after for us.
Continue to pray for those in need.  Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

Friday 8 November 2013

Friday, November 8th, 2013

Praise the Lord as we walk by faith expecting great things to happen.  Expecting great things or good things or blessings to be waiting in your future, causes you to move forward into those expected things.  If you expect nothing good then why get out of bed in the morning, why go to church.  We used to sing a song, 'something good is going to happen to you, Jesus of Nazareth is passing your way.'  You may be disappointed with something in your life but the Holy Spirit has put in your future an appointment with a blessing. Psalm 30:5 "Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning."  Our part is not to create a miracle in our future but rather to walk expecting that miracles are going to happen in our future.  Walk into today expecting something good is going to happen today.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing, 'Lord Increase My Faith.'  There are times when we need more faith because we are walking into places where more faith is required.  If you don't increase in faith you will decrease in joy for joy is a sign that proper faith is present.  In the evening, 'Finding Out Where You Are.'  Life often leads us into places where we don't want to be and if we stay in the wrong place to long, we will begin to think that wrong is alright.
Continue to pray for those in need, lots of love, looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Friday, November 1st, 2013

Praise the Lord for another wonder filled day.  We had about 20 scary and some not so scary people at the door last night.  People pretending to be someone other than who they really are.  My thought this morning is, 'Halloween's over, it's time to take of the mask.'  The Message Bible Romans 12:1-2 "So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you."  Being real is hard if it means being rejected by this world.  It may be easy to put on a mask and make everyday Halloween but it will never lead you into maturity.  Be real about your faith and God will prove to you just how big He is.
Rachel Colford is having her first CD release tomorrow evening 7:30 @ the Holiday Inn in Sydney.  Everyone is welcome to come and celebrate with her.
This Sunday is Family Sunday so don't forget that we start early @ 10:15, bring some food to share with others, and invite a friend to enjoy the service.  On Family Sunday there is no evening service and there will be no early choir practice this week.  Monday evening @6 @ the Bible Study Hall Pastor Mark and Amy are looking for young people who would be interested in working together to do some special things for Christmas.
Don't forget to fill your shoe boxes and bring them in.  Also pick up your Christmas banquet ticket.  The Church room for the banquet can seat about 230.  We don't want to see anyone miss so make sure you get your ticket.  Bob and Lin Ryan have a table at the back of the church.  This year's guest speaker at the banquet is Glen Tetford from Newfoundland.  Glen as a child was healed of cancer and today is a very anointed speaker in the Kingdom of God.  He preaches, sings and plays at churches, conferences, and national leadership meetings all across Canada. Glen has a great sense of humour and has several music CD's.

Praise the Lord for the Friday email on Thursday.  Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."  Why is it so important what you think about?  Someone said that what you think about you bring about.  If what's in your heart you speak and if life and death are in the power of the tongue, we need to think right, to talk right, to walk right, if we want to end up in the right place.  A wondering mind comes before wondering feet.  Your mind is a wonderful gift from God that needs to be fed the right information.  We need to fix on mind or feed on mind on things above if we want to daily walk in heavenly places.  Take a moment to think about what you think about and apply the above verse to your mind.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing on, 'Dealing With Doubt.'  What do you do when living by faith becomes frustrating?  Where do you turn when what you thought was the way it was is not the way it is?  Sunday evening Pastor Mark will be sharing the word and he always has insight to reveal from the Holy Spirit.
A week from Saturday, that's Nov.2nd  at the Holiday Inn in Sydney @7:30 pm, Rachel Colford is having her new CD release.  The Lord has truly gifted Rachel with a great anointing to worship.  Everyone is invited to celebrate with her the songs that she sings from her heart.
Also a week from this Sunday, Nov.3rd it's Family Sunday.  Don't forget next week to invite a friend to come with you to Family Sunday.
Continue to pray for those in need, looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Someone said that the best place to look for a helping hand is at the end of your own arm.  I believe it means if you need help to solve a problem the first place to look is inward.  You can't expect others to help you with your problem if you are unwilling to help yourself.  People that present a problem but expect you to fix their problem become high maintenance relationships.  Jesus said to His disciples, follow me and you will be made into what God intended for you to become.  Jesus can lead us but it was up to us to follow if we want to become.  Someone else following Jesus doesn't fix me, I need to follow and as I do His strength empowers me to help me.  Be determined today to follow the Lord.
Tomorrow is the Loaves and Fishes Food Drive.  All those interested in helping can show up before 9:30 at Loaves and Fishes.  This Sunday morning I'll be sharing on, "A Lost Ministry."  What happens when you lose something important and how do you get it back?  Sunday evening I'll be sharing on "Spiritual Order."  God is the God of order and when things becoming confusing it's a sign that it's out of Godly order.  A sign that a person has found Christ will be the new way that they order their life and the things that are important on God's list, becomes what's important on our list.
Continue to pray for those in need, looking forward to seeing you on Sunday. lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Friday 11 October 2013

Friday, October 11th, 2013

Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus.  Alice and I were away for 11 days in Alberta and while there we visited my brother and his wife for 4 days and then attended the National Ministers Conference in Calgary.  The conference was very busy, leaving the hotel between 8 and 9am each morning and arriving back after 10pm at night.   I have discovered that going away doesn't mean that I had a rest.  God made everything in 6 days and on the 7th day He rested.  I have a strong belief that faithfully working is a great part of living a successfully and yet we also need to rest if we are going to renew our strength to work yet for another day.  Rest refreshes us and makes us more alert and less likely to make mistakes.  You can say things the wrong way when you're tired that you wouldn't say if you were rested.  God is our example of balance, He worked and He rested.  Some good old fashion hard work is wonderful but don't forget to also have some good old fashion rest.
This is Thanksgiving Sunday and I'll be sharing on, 'The Harvest Is In The Seed.'  Your present harvest is the result of a former seed.  If you have no seed then you can have no harvest.  It is God who provides our seed and the environment to grow the seed and we are to work together with God and receive our just reward.  I am thankful for past and present times of harvest and for the seeds that are in the soil of my heart for the future.  This is no evening service this Sunday.
Continue to pray for those in need.  Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice.

Friday 20 September 2013

Friday, September 20th, 2013

We shall bless the Lord at all times His praise should be continually in our mouth.  In life we learn about being either right or wrong.  We spend 13 plus years in school being corrected if we are wrong, fail if we are wrong, punished, mocked, embarrassed, laughed at, and belittled so we grow up looking at right as the right way to do everything  and wrong as not an option.  There is nothing wrong with being right unless you always have to be right.  Why?  Because we all make mistakes, we don't know everything, some of what we know is not right, and sometimes there is a writer way than our way.  Romans 11:33 "Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!"  There are some things about God that we don't know and even what we do know is revealed to us by the Holy Spirit.  None of us want to be wrong but all of us need to walk in unity and love.  At times we may even be considered wrong in the eyes of others and yet right in the sight of God.  Lighten up, give yourself some slack, if you had to always be right then you could never become the weather person.  Don't allow past wrongs to be your present problem but rejoice for His mercies are new every morning.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing on, 'Dealing With Loss.'  What do you do when you lose?  We fought well but didn't win, how do we get back in the game?  In the evening I'll be sharing on, 'Who Is Holy Spirit?'  When we look at the Holy Trinity we can have a hard time to understand who the Holy Spirit is and what part does He play in our lives.
Next week Alice and I leave for our National Conference in Calgary.  I am the area director for the Canadian Fellowship of Christian Ministries (CFCM) in Atlantic Canada.  This conference is held once a year to give an opportunity to come together with hundreds of other pastors and leaders from across the nation to be refreshed in the presence of the Lord.
Continue to pray for those in need.  Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Friday 13 September 2013

Friday, Sepember 13th, 2013

Praise the Lord as we come to understand that He works all things together for our good.  He works on us like making a special soup.  He takes some things that taste good and mixes them with spices that by themselves may not taste so good and when it's finished we taste and see that the Lord is good.  All the things that came to you worked together in you to produce the wonderful person that you are.  It's having the attitude of gratitude for what comes your way that reveals to those around you that you do understand that there is a process.  If the Lord promised to make you a winner, then believe that what you have is what God needs to make a winner out of you.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing on, 'The Power Of Silence.'  There is no degree you can receive that teaches you how to listen but without having the wisdom to listen you will never gain the understanding that you need to know when to speak.  Sunday evening there will be a Water Baptism Service at Maurice and Barb Tobin's.  We have 9 people who have asked to be Baptised.  We look forward to this event as people who have accepted Jesus as Saviour and Lord follow the Lord in this way.  We will have some food and fellowship starting at 5 followed by the Baptism at 6.
Continue to pray for those in need to be healed.  Looking forward to seeing you, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Sunday 8 September 2013

Friday, September 6th, 2013

Praise the Lord for His goodness towards us each new day.   The Bible tells us that we are to wait upon the Lord and our strength will be renewed.  The art of waiting or being still and listening is a hard thing to do.  It seems like a silent conversation is no conversation at all.  Let's move it along, tell me what You want Lord so I can do it for in doing I find my identity.  God on the other hand looks at us as being His children and it's not based on doing but rather on being.  Listening to the Lord or others is best done by those who don't already think that they know it all.  It's amazing the wisdom that I have gained just by listening to others who don't see the world through my eyes.  Today listen....just listen.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing on, 'Open Your Eyes.'  Do you know how to pray when you are confronted with a problem?  In the evening, 'God's A Giver.'  It's not a question about the God who gives but is there a receiving people?
Continue to pray for those in need.  Looking forward to seeing you, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

Sunday 18 August 2013

Friday, August 16th, 2013

Today is a great day to worship the Lord.  There is a part of the divine nature of Almighty God that responds to our ability to freely offer love to Him.  Psalm 22:3 "But You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel."  Worship that is from the heart is awesome in the site of God.  Psalms 147:1 "Praise the Lord! For it is good to sing praises to our God; For it is pleasant, and praise is beautiful."  Sometimes we may want to look real good for someone or some event and we dress up to look our best but in God's eyes praise makes you look beautiful.  So today rejoice put on your praise clothes and take of any spirit of heaviness. This Sunday morning I'll be sharing on, 'Giant Promises.'  We are always ready to receive a nice promise from the Lord but the trouble is not found in the promise but problems are hidden along the way as we advance towards the promise.  Sunday evening there is a change of plans and we will not be on the Sydney Boardwalk. Atlantic Jesus Fest is being held in Cape Breton on Sunday at the drive in theatre on Grand Lake Road.  It starts @4pm and ends around 11.  There is live music for the first 4 to 5 hours followed by 2 Christian movies. Alice and I will be away the next 2 weeks, Pastor Bruce will be looking after things while we are away. Continue to pray for those in need.  Really looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

Sunday 11 August 2013

Friday, August 9th, 2013

Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus.  There are some things about our faith in the word of the Lord that we need to obey just because it tells us to do it.  Jesus said you shall lay hands of the sick and pray for them to recover.  This is not a great suggestion but when we have the opportunity to pray for the sick we should pray.  It's up to us to obey the Lord and the more real God's Kingdom is to us, the more willing we are to follow His command.  Keeping it real is a challenge when the world around us seems to conflict with the God who is within us.  If you went to a bad place for a visit, you would not consider it to be normal but if you lived in that bad place, it would become your normal.  We are in this world but we are not of this world, we are just a passing through.  Don't allow the world's mess to become your normal but let's believe God for His Kingdom to come and His will to be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
I want to thank everyone for the great job they did last weekend to make our Biker's Blessing service such a great success.  The presence of the Lord was strong as everyone was as I like to say, NICE.  It makes me thankful to be a part of such a wonderful church.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing on, 'Stepping Out.'  There is always a moment when we receive a word from the Lord and then there is another moment when that word moves us and we see it come to pass.  God wants us to get ready for the word from a former season is about to come to pass in this season.  Sunday evening weather permitting @6 we're on the North Sydney Boardwalk.  Come out and enjoy the fellowship.
I was in to see Hazen Usher this morning at the Hospital and he is feeling much better and is hopeful to be getting out in the near future.  Continue to pray for all those in need, looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

Monday 5 August 2013

Friday, August 2nd, 2013

Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus.  Another great day to serve the Lord and in all our ways acknowledge Him.  It is often easy to be so busy with life that we don't take time to ask the Lord or commit to the Lord our ways.  In whatever direction we are going we have gone this way before so why bother God?  That would be true if God was bothered by us coming to Him but He looks to hear from us because He loves us.  His love towards us opens His ear to hear us so may He hear from us today.
This Sunday morning is Family Sunday & a Bikers Blessing.  We'll start at 10:30 on our church property Grand Lake Rd. with the main service followed by the Biker's Blessing.  We'll then be having a barbeque with lots of food and a bounce tent will be set up for the children.  On Family Sunday there is no evening service.
Continue to pray for those in need.  Lots of love, looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, blessings Pastor Kevin and Alice

Tuesday 30 July 2013

Friday, July 26th, 2013

What a wonderful change has been brought in my life since Jesus came into my heart.  Jesus coming into a heart is life changing and if you haven't been changed then somehow you only got religious while sitting in the sanctuary.  Faith to follow the Bible is the key to walking higher in the things of God.  There are good feelings when we are walking by faith but good feelings can't be the steering wheel for our life.  Feelings come and go and people that are led by feelings come and go also.  To be faithful is to be full of faith and in faithfulness we are to live, move, and have our being.  I may not always feel blessed but the word tells me that I always am blessed.  Deuteronomy 28:6 "Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out."  Are you going into something?  Are you coming out of something? Blessed is how you'll be even when blessed is not how you feel.  May you walk by faith today for you are greatly blessed and higher favoured.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing of, 'Fighting For Unity.'  Sometimes the battle is not over who's right or wrong but can we get along as we travel towards our victory.  How can two walk together unless they agree?  Agreeing together takes faith and even if you don't have faith for a miracle, God sees the faith you used to agree and gives you a miracle.  It's like your children are playing together real well and you decide to take them for a treat, they won't expecting a treat but their unity gave them a reward.  Sunday evening we're on the Sydney Boardwalk @6.  Come out and bring a friend as we share the good news with our community.
Continue to pray for those in need.  Hazen Usher is in the hospital after having gallbladder surgery.
Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

Friday, July 19th, 2013

Hello everyone, I had some Tech problems last Friday so hopefully we are back on track with the news letter.  We had a great prayer walk on Wednesday in North Sydney with much prophetic insight about the Spiritual needs in our community.  God is good and He is leading us and changing us along the way.  An egg turns into a bird and the bird in turn needs to learn how to fly.  If the egg doesn't turn out a bird then the bird in turn will never learn how to fly.  There is a process, birds fly and eggs don't fly.  What you were doesn't give you the ability to do what you are becoming.  It's as we walk with God that we develop, grow, and mature into who God designed us to be.    Mark 16:17-18 " And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;  they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."  Just as flying comes naturally to birds, miracles come naturally to growing maturing believers.  May you fly high today and experience a miracle in your life.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing on, 'Sanctify Yourself.'  Sometimes we can be quick to judge others and the work of judging others takes us away from the good things that we should be doing.  We can get catch up in what others are doing or not doing and it hinders us from becoming all that we could be.  Sunday evening we are back on the Sydney Boardwalk.  If you are not busy please make an effort to join us as it is encouraging for those who minister to see a crowd and receive your prayers.
Continue to pray for those in need.  Looking forward to seeing you, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Saturday 6 July 2013

Friday, July 5th, 2013

Praise the Lord for another day where it’s warmer here than in Florida.  There is one thing that is always true about the weather, it’s always changing.  It can be either wonderful and miserable depending on when you step outside.  For some people they are only happy when the weather is what they like but if it’s not then they’re not.  They have allowed their mood to be controlled by the changing weather rather than something more unchanging.  Jesus said to build your house upon the rock rather than on the shifting sinking sands of life.  Are you glad to be standing on the Rock of our Salvation?  1 Peter 2:7 “Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient. The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone.”  For all those that have accepted Jesus He had made room on the Rock for them to stand.  Thanks be to God for the unchanging promises of the Lord are yes and amen to those who believe.  Enjoy the great day for this is the day that the Lord has made.
This Sunday is Family Sunday and I’ll be sharing on, ‘Come Out of the Cemetery.’  The cemetery is the only place where no one is expecting anything to move.  If anything does move someone screams.  If you as a person get stuck on the issues of what could have been, should have been, or what may have been, you’ll never be empowered to move forward.  On Family Sunday we start @10:15 for breakfast, (bring some food) followed by the morning service, communion, and a building fund offering.  On Family Sunday there is no evening service.
Since the new year we have been praying and asking for support to replace the cargo van that we had to transport all the sound gear that we have to do our outreach services.  This week we received a donation of a truck to the ministry.  This truck is well able to do everything we need to do and more.  We will have the truck in front of the church this Sunday for everyone to see.  We want to thank them who donated the truck and praise God for answering prayer.  The money that was raise will cover the cost of a new cap for the back of the truck, insurance, and inspection.  This Wednesday from 7-9 pm at the hall where we hold Bible Study, Rachel and her mission’s group will be teaching on Worship.  Everyone is welcome to attend.  Next Sunday July 14th at 6pm we will be having our first Sydney boardwalk outreach service.  We need extra volunteers to help us with set up, tear down, setting up chairs, and passing out our magazine, if you can help see Pastor Bruce or Rolly.
Carl MacDonald is in the Sydney hospital dealing with an infection in his foot and leg.  He likes visits so if you are out and about drop in to see him. A lady in our church is recovering from surgery and is feeling much better.  Pray for all those in need as we believe in the power of God to heal.  Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

Praise the Lord Jesus for another wonder filled day.  The Lord is working to enlarge our world and in order to enlarge our outer world the Holy Spirit must first work to enlarge our inner world.  It’s seems that we can never manage and maintain outwardly what we haven’t enlarged and accepted inwardly.  Real change effects our attitude as well as our actions.  It’s possible to have the right actions but destroy things with a bad attitude.  1 Peter 3:8  “Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters.  Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude.” (New Living Translation)  As you work with God He works with you and a new level of love fills your world.
On this past Tuesday we received word that Rev. Monty Lewis went home to be with the Lord.  He was just with us this past Easter and he walked in a powerful anointing.  Growing up in New Waterford he lived a life of sin and was always in trouble.  Feared and hated, Monty ended up in prison, and while in the hole of a jail, a Salvation Army officer walked by and asked Monty if he knew that he was a sinner.  Those words went deep into his heart and Monty confessed his sin and accepted Jesus as his Lord.  Jesus in a moment changed Monty’s life and Monty has lived his life since then to rescue the lost, reach the hurting, and help the down and out.  Please pray for his family as the funeral service is tomorrow in Fredericton, NB.
This Sunday morning I’ll be sharing on, ‘Changing For The Better.’  In order to become a better person we must be shown a better way.  God always sends someone to you to point you in the right direction.  If you don’t like the vessel who carries the message then you won’t embrace the word that they were sent to give you.  Sunday evening we are hoping to have our first Drive-in service of the year. Weather permitting we will be on our church property on Grand Lake Road @6.  Come and bring a friend as Pastor Mark shares with us the word of the Lord.
Continue to pray for those in need, looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

Praise the Lord Jesus for giving us such a wonderful positive message of Salvation.  I was thinking about all the negative people in this world, all the people that see the glass half empty, all the people that see a 10% chance of rain rather than a 90% chance of sunshine.  Psalm 118:24 “This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.”  The very fact that we believe that it was our God who made today, that should be reason enough to start to rejoice and be glad.  We can all have days that we don’t want to repeat but even those days the Lord can work them together and make the end result come out for our good.  The sun is shining outside as I write this but even if it wasn’t out where I can see it, the sun is still shining just above the clouds.  Look to the Lord today and be positive for His message is still the best good news that there is.
This Sunday morning I’ll be sharing on, ‘Enlarge Your Vision.’  When you are praying for something you have to first see it in the realm of the invisible, then confess it by word and deed, then prepare to receive it into your world.  In the evening service I’ll be sharing on, ‘Keeping the Faith.’  It’s one thing to be saved by faith but have you been keeping the faith?  There is in all of us a place or a cup that holds current faith and we use current faith to believe for current miracles.  The cup is filled up by His Word or faith comes to us by us hearing His Word.  As we dip our cup into the river of His living water all things become possible.  It is by faith that comes from His word that we believe for salvation and it’s after salvation that we must continue living by faith in the river of His word.  That way our cup is always full and running over.  Have you stepped out into the river and dipped your cup into the water lately?
Continue to pray for all those in need, looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Praise the Lord, Acts 3:19 “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.”  There are times, times when refreshing or a flow of blessings comes from the presence of the Lord.  The question is, what triggers God’s hand to be extended towards us?  In this verse there is a connection between the sin that was in these Jews that Peter was talking to and the desire of God to bless them.  I was at the Correctional Center this week visiting an inmate and told him that everything has a system or a way that causes it to run smoothly.  Where he was in jail has a system, when he goes to court there is a system, at the hospital there is a system, in school there is a system and on earth, the God of love and order, has a system that I didn’t know much about until I repented and became born again.  Peter said repent and be converted and God’s Divine system will empower you to walk above the systems or the kingdoms of this earth.  Repent means to turn away from your past wrongs and be converted to Christ means to join His Holy Ghost system where Jesus is both the Savior and Lord of your life.  It’s here in this Divine system that times of refreshing are released from the presence of the Lord.  May you today receive a time of refreshing.
This is Father’s Day weekend and we will have with us the Lumber River Quartet ministering on Sunday morning.  They will also be doing a benefit concert at our church to raise money for the Christian School on Saturday evening.  On Sunday morning we do have some special plans for our dad’s and I will be sharing for a few minutes on, ‘A Father’s Word.’  God our Heavenly Father arrived into a world that was a mess and He spoke and it changed everything.  May earthly fathers follow the example of our Heavenly Father and know how to speak to messes and turn them into messages of love and grace.  There will be no evening service this Sunday.
Continue to pray for those in need.  Hope to see you over the weekend, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Friday, June 7th, 2013

Praise the Lord for another wonder filled week.  I received an email today asking if I could help them find out more about how to place their faith in God.  It’s not just in church that people are looking for answers but everywhere people are questioning their spiritual life and their need for help to be pointed in the right direction.  I say thank God for the Body of Christ and all those who have been preparing to be ready for what God is about to do.   On Monday and Tuesday I was in Ottawa to attend the National Prayer Breakfast.  There was a Monday evening meal together with Senators, government leaders from all parties, and the presence of Almighty God.  Tuesday morning was the National Prayer Breakfast and it was wonderful to hear our national leaders Hon. Jason Kenney Conservative, MP Joe Comartin NDP, and MP Justin Trudeau leader of the Liberal party read from the scriptures.  The Speaker for the Senate, Speaker for the House of Commons also shared with us, and they had General Lawson the Chief of National Defense close in prayer.  I came home with a new hope for our nation to see revival and a renewed burden to pray for our government leaders.
This Sunday morning I’ll be sharing on, ‘Overcoming Offence.’  We just finished a 4 week Bible Study with Joyce Myers on how to handle offence.  Once we learn something new the question is are we a hearer of the word only or are we a hearer and a doer?  It’s impossible that no offences would come your way but what do you do when they do come?  Sunday evening, ‘Success Is At Hand.’  God always wants us to move forward.  If we believe that the best is yet to come then we need to be moving forward into our future where the best is waiting for us to receive.
Next Sunday is Father’s Day and we will have with us the Lumber River Quartet.  This is just a great group who know how to sing with a wonderful message of hope and healing.  I was blessed to hear them live in Moncton last summer so if you can invite someone to come with you.  There will be no evening service on Father’s Day.
Continue to pray for all those in need.  Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

Friday, May 31st, 2013

It’s a warm Friday that feels more like a day in summer than the end of May.  We had our closing for the Bible Study this past Wednesday evening and I said that we always need to connect with others who have a positive influence in our life.  By doing this we maintain a fullness that can handle all the draining situations that come our way.  If we don’t have a fullness and someone needs us to share with them, we will have nothing to give.  This summer stay connected to God, His Holy Spirit, His Word, the Fellowship of His Saints, and prayer.
Here we are the first Sunday in June and that means it’s Family Sunday.  We start at 10:15 with some breakfast food followed by the morning service.  I’ll be sharing on, ‘How To Navigate Life.’  We may have a great desire but there is a right way and a wrong way to arrive at our destination.  God’s GPS (God’s Powerful Spirit) will lead us and guide us into all truth.  Invite a friend to come with you and share in the service.  There will be a building Fund offering and Communion, there is no evening service on family Sunday.
Continue to pray for those in need.  Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice.

In Matthew 4 satan said to Jesus if You are the Son of God then turn this stone into bread.  Jesus could have done what satan was saying to do but just because you can do something it doesn’t mean that you should do something.  Often we think that we should do everything within our power to meet our needs but there are times when we need to be still and listen for the Lord to give us divine direction to meet our need.  Jesus said in verse 4 “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”  There is a proceeding word that is always proceeding from the Throne Room of Heaven and we must listen for Him to speak rather than coming up with what we can do.  We can be guilty of trying everything that we know to do and then after we have exhausted all our resources, listen for God to speak.  We could save ourselves years of self effort if we would take moments in the midst of our needs to listen for His present voice, a now word that will lead us and guide us into all truth.
This Sunday is Mother’s Day and what a great day it will be.  Give honor to your mother for this is good in the sight of the Lord.  I’ll be sharing a special word to the Mom’s and there will be a baby dedication.  On Mother’s Day there will only be the morning service.  Make sure that you try in some way to show honor to your Mom.
Continue to pray for all those in need.  Lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

Praise our Lord Jesus for He is good.  Some people wonder what God is like and can He really help us when we have a problem.  Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”  When we are in trouble He comes to strengthen us right while we are in the trouble and also He gives us or makes for us a refuge, a safe place right in the midst of the troubled place.  We often want to escape trouble and God can do that but He can also create a safe place for you to be at peace even while you walk through trouble.  He’s a very present help today and at the end of the day we will rejoice and give Him all the glory for His presence goes with us.  Amen?
This is Family Sunday, the presence of the Lord has been so wonderful to us.  We start at 10:15 with breakfast followed by the morning service.  I’ll be sharing on, ‘Animal Behavior In Saints.’  If you know anyone who acts like an animal when afraid then this message from the Holy Spirit will help them to see the light.  We all become afraid at times but we all don’t react to fear correctly.  Let the word of the Lord help you to change your ways and be blessed.  There will be a Building Fund offering and we end with Communion.  There is no evening service on Family Sunday.
Continue to pray for all those in need.  Lots of love, looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Friday, April 26th, 2013

Bless the Lord Oh my soul and all that is within me, all that I can do, all that is possible for me to do, bless His Holy name.  It’s not always easy to give God the glory when things go wrong.  What happens when the dreams from yesterday run into the problems of today and destroy your hopes for tomorrow?  You were working the plan but you won’t planning for what happened.  Life landed you a sucker punch that caused you to see stars and brought you to your knees.  Someone blew out the light at the end of the tunnel and even if you do get back on track, which way do you go in the dark?
As I have watched and helped many people to recover by using the power of the Holy Spirit it’s been in special moments that suddenly the light comes on and a person makes the decision to move forward.  It doesn’t happen in days, weeks, months, or years but it’s in a Divine moment that the person decides for themselves that their future is not going to be controlled by some past mistake.  It may take some time to reach the moment but our biggest changes happen in moments when we feel the presence of God .  I call it a miraculous moment and may you today have a miraculous moment and be blessed.
This Sunday morning I’ll be sharing on, ‘Now Unto Him Who Is Able.’  When we have a need in our life we seek for someone who is able to meet that need.  There are some needs that are beyond human help and require us to look higher to find the answer.  In the evening I’ll be sharing on, ‘Dealing With Contradiction.’  As we walk with God the Lord answers all our questions but there is the time between having the question and finding the answer that can work to test our faith.
Continue to pray for all those in need, looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

Friday, April 19th, 2013

Psalm 102: “Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits.”  If we are asked to forget not then it must be possible to forget.  On the day that a benefit touches us we say that we shall never forget but down the road as time and life pass the memory of the event fades.  Another part of this forget not is to remember what we have learned about God and what He has done for others in times when they needed Him.  Don’t forget what you have experienced and remember to call on the living loving Savior in times of trouble.  So when we forget not it’s not just remembering the things that we have seen Him do for us but it’s also remembering all the things that we know that it’s possible for Him to do.
This Sunday morning I’ll be sharing on, ‘I Can.’  Until you confess I can you’ll never advance past where you currently are.  The next level for you must first become a possibility to you.  Sunday evening I’ll be sharing on, ‘Whatever Things You Hear.’  The word must inform you before it can transform you.  If you have an ear to hear then all things are possible.  If you pray to hear from God then it’s not the list that you take to God in prayer but it’s the list that forms while praying that counts.
Continue to pray for all those in need.  Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Blessings in the name of the Lord Jesus.  I was thinking how we often don’t know what we have or we don’t appreciate what we have because it’s right under our noses.  Some children I know are going to Florida and they are counting the sleeps till they go.  What about the children in Florida who live next door to Disney World, are they counting the sleeps until they get to go to Florida?  Not likely.  What about our Cabot Trail and the millions of people who come to see it and we who live here may not give it the time day.  I thought about church, serving the Lord, and worship.  We live in a country where we have the right to go to church, serve the Lord, and worship as much as we want but many who need to don’t bother.  Some have lost interest or don’t care but God will always have a ‘want to’ people.  Jesus in Matthew repeats the words of Moses and said, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’  Loving the Lord is a personal choice that must be kept burning in our hearts.  We are to fan the flames with joy, stoke the fire with acts of love, and add the fuel of our faithfulness.  Take some time today to talk to the Lord.
I was talking with a young man this week who raised his hand last Sunday morning in church and with tears he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior.  He said that this week has been so much better and he feels totally different.  He is now praying for his wife to accept Jesus also.   This Sunday in the morning I’ll be sharing on, ‘Whoever Can Have Whatever.’  There are many promises in the Bible that apply to us all.  Not just for some elite group but when the word declares that whosoever can have whatsoever then it applies to us all.  Are you a whosoever?  Are you willing to follow the Lord?  Then whatsoever applies to you!  In the evening Pastor Mark will be sharing the word and praying for the sick.  Come expecting a miracle.
Continue to pray for all those in need, looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Praise the Lord for His goodness towards us.  1st Corinthians 13:11 “When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.” As I was meditating about this verse this morning I asked myself, have we as adults put away our childish things.  Do we as adults act like adults?  When we talk with a child who’s having problems at school we tell them to tell their parents and let their teacher know.  We give them some personal direction but we do not position our self to take on their problem.  When we talk with an adult who is having a problem we are no longer talking with a child and adults are to receive advice and then act like adults.  An adult should know their boundaries and they hopefully have learned ways to handle problems and protect themselves.   Acting right is a learned process but the problem is we are often handed a problem before we know how to handle the problem.   We thus need to grow up while we process through the problem on our way to becoming mature.  A sign of maturity is the putting away of childishness.  The Lord has us all on a journey to our promises and in the process we shall become mature.  It’s not that we have reached perfection but we are hopefully less wrong than we used to be.
On Saturday, that’s tomorrow morning @9 there is a Men’s Breakfast @ Bethel Family Church in Glace Bay.  Sunday morning is ourSpecial Family Sunday.  Everyone invites a friend and @10:15 we share breakfast together.  The morning service follows and I’ll be sharing on ‘He’s Alive.’  The message places us between the resurrection and His ascension.  Jesus is back walking among His disciples and is there a difference in the ministry of Jesus?  Also on Family Sunday we serve Communion and there is a special Building Fund offering.  On Family Sunday there is no evening service.
Continue to pray for those in need, looking forward to seeing you, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice
