Praise the Lord, Acts 3:19 “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.”  There are times, times when refreshing or a flow of blessings comes from the presence of the Lord.  The question is, what triggers God’s hand to be extended towards us?  In this verse there is a connection between the sin that was in these Jews that Peter was talking to and the desire of God to bless them.  I was at the Correctional Center this week visiting an inmate and told him that everything has a system or a way that causes it to run smoothly.  Where he was in jail has a system, when he goes to court there is a system, at the hospital there is a system, in school there is a system and on earth, the God of love and order, has a system that I didn’t know much about until I repented and became born again.  Peter said repent and be converted and God’s Divine system will empower you to walk above the systems or the kingdoms of this earth.  Repent means to turn away from your past wrongs and be converted to Christ means to join His Holy Ghost system where Jesus is both the Savior and Lord of your life.  It’s here in this Divine system that times of refreshing are released from the presence of the Lord.  May you today receive a time of refreshing.
This is Father’s Day weekend and we will have with us the Lumber River Quartet ministering on Sunday morning.  They will also be doing a benefit concert at our church to raise money for the Christian School on Saturday evening.  On Sunday morning we do have some special plans for our dad’s and I will be sharing for a few minutes on, ‘A Father’s Word.’  God our Heavenly Father arrived into a world that was a mess and He spoke and it changed everything.  May earthly fathers follow the example of our Heavenly Father and know how to speak to messes and turn them into messages of love and grace.  There will be no evening service this Sunday.
Continue to pray for those in need.  Hope to see you over the weekend, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice
