With Christmas right around the corner shopping is in full swing.  Everyone is looking for that perfect gift, which may be an expensive gift, but the goal is to make the other person happy.  I thought that some of the best gifts are free but then as a thought about it even the free gifts will cost you something.  Jesus said (without spending a dime) give the gift of forgiveness to your enemies.  To give your neighbors and your friends your love.  To all those around you and especially your children be a good example.  To give God your worship and give yourself respect.  These are 'free gifts' yes, yet to freely give them reveals a heart that's been changed by the greatest Christmas gift of all....Jesus.  While you are out shopping don't forget to give to others what Christ has freely given you.
Tomorrow (Saturday) morning @9 is the Children's Christmas Concert rehearsal.  If you have any questions please call either Anndelynn 902 562-5393 or Antoinette 902 562-1251.  Then on Sunday morning it's our annual Children's Christmas Concert.  A Celebration of Christmas with love from our children to you.
Next Saturday Dec. 24th starting @6 pm will be our Christmas Church Service.  I will be sharing on, 'Twas The Night Before Christmas.'  I don't know where I came up with the title.  You know before everything changed it didn't seem like anything had changed.  Twas the night before Christmas.
There will be no church services next Sunday.
Continue to pray for all those in need, looking forward to seeing you soon, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

Matthew 2:1-2 "After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”  The wise men had seen a star appear in the sky and they made a decision to follow the light to Jerusalem.  John 8:12 "When Jesus spoke again to the people, He said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”  I thought about these wise men and how in life they likely had made plenty of mistakes but we are not told about their faults but we are told that when the light appeared they made a choice to follow it.  I talked with a woman at church and she said that the last decision she had made was a bad one and she didn’t know how to get over it.  I said it's true that if she died today her family would likely remember that last bad decision but if she would make her next decision a God one and a good one then the wrong would fade from the memories of those that know her and she would be known for doing good.  We call them wise men because when the light appeared to them they followed it.  We would be wise also to follow Him, the light of the world, and ask for His help in all the decisions that we have to make today.  My confidence is high in you, for you are greatly blessed and highly favoured.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing with you, 'I Want The Best.'  When we buy something we want the best value for the money we spend.  Sometimes we can pay a great price for something but not receive a great value.  What do you do when there is a no return policy (on your spouse)?
Continue to pray for those in need.  Looking forward to seeing you soon, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

When we are in the middle of something we only know half the story.  It's when we finish a thing that we can look back and declare the fullness of what the Lord was doing.  It's when we haven't crossed the finish line that we don't understand the purpose of the race but let me say that every race has a purpose.  Hebrews 12:1-2 "Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."  People couldn't see the purpose of the cross while Jesus was on the cross but afterwards it was truly the greatest victory known to mankind.  If you are in the middle of something today press on, keep going, my confidence in you is high, for your best days are still ahead of you.  You are one who is greatly blessed and highly favored.
This is Family Sunday, I hope you have invited a friend to join you.  We start @10:15 with food (don't forget to bring something) and fellowship followed by the morning service.  I will be sharing 'Are You One of Them?'  We are all one of something and our actions reveal what we understand and thus reveal where we stand.
Continue to pray for all those in need, looking forward to seeing you soon, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

Blessings to you in the name of our Lord Jesus.  Our annual Christmas Banquet is almost hereTomorrow morning @ 10 we need some helpers to set things up for the banquet.  The banquet begins @6 for an evening to share the goodness of God with our church family and our community.  We are expecting a full house and that will mean a full parking lot.  If you can use the lower parking lot it would be helpful.  Bishop Don Carpenter will be our guest speaker and he will also be with us for the Sunday morning service.
Three things to remember as we walk through life together.  'I belong to the wonderful family of God.'  At times our own personal world can be in trouble but we are not alone.  We have been jointly fitted together by the work of the Holy Spirit to His Church.  We are now many believers and yet one body.  2nd, 'I have value.'  The God of Heaven purchased me and though I was once worthless on the open market of sin I have now been redeemed by the perish blood of Jesus and the finished work of the cross.  3rd, 'I am able.'  Others may tell me that I can't do something because it's beyond my ability but I say it's not beyond God's ability and greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.
You are special, you are chosen, and you are a part of my family.  You were created to seek after the deep things of God and confidence is high that this day will be a great day of success for you.  Continue to pray for all those in need, looking forward to seeing you soon, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

Wednesday, November 9th, 2016

Hi everyone, I know I send this email out on Friday's but I'll be away this weekend.  My grandson Ben turns 9 years old on Saturday and he lives in Carbonear Newfoundland.  We are leaving tonight on the boat and coming back next Monday.  Pastor Bruce is available if you need anything.  Please pray for Alice and I to have good roads and good weather as we travel.
The US has a new president and we pray for his leadership.  Romans 13:1-2 "Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves."
I have been teaching on leadership at Bible Study and that learning how to follow and lead starts at birth.  Your home life prepares you to follow and lead long before you put on a white hat at a job site.  Following or leading is next about your attitude.   Do you live life in an, 'I want to mode' or 'I have to mode?'  Tonight we will look at the third ingredient that every healthy follower or leader should have.
Last Sunday was a history maker or at least a record breaker for us.  Before this our greatest attendance on a Sunday morning was 243 but last Sunday it was 258.  Praise the Lord and all the glory goes to God.  With growth comes growing pains and stretch marks as we expand our borders.  Growth also brings with it a certain amount of chaos so be nice, keep sweet, and act kind as the Lord sets the bar higher in us for greater growth around us.  I want to thank you all for your prayers, patience, work, and support in and around our church to make it what it is.  I believe in Christ we have what it takes so as we take what we have lets advance strongly into the future.
This Sunday Pastor Mark will be sharing the Word of the Lord.  Pastor Mark is an inspired speaker and he has a great gift to encourage the Family of God.  Come out and bring a friend.
The Christmas banquet is also drawing near.  Make sure you pick up your tickets.  You can pay later if you have to but with our limited space we need to know who's coming.  Thank you so much for your help.
Continue to pray for all those in need, looking forward to seeing you soon, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Times are changing and it's not just Saturday night when we set our clocks back 1 hour.  We are living in changing times as knowledge is exploding all around us.  As I look at our church I can see that Jesus is ministering to every generation.  We have many wonderful spiritual young people attending, entering in, and enjoying the goodness of the Lord Jesus.  God's message of love seems to bypass customs as He overlooks age barriers and generation gaps.  He doesn't seem to need religious settings or stain glass windows to express Himself but God is God all by Himself and He relates to every generation.  We can wonder if the next generation will respond to the Gospel like the last generation and receive Christ as Savior and Lord.  Luke 1:50 "And His mercy is on those who fear Him From generation to generation."  Thank God for He is saving all who call upon Him.
This is Family Sunday so we start at 10:15 with food and fellowship followed by the morning service.  I will be sharing with you, "Rise Up and Walk."  Often when a person feels down they need someone to help them to get back up.  Those that encourage others will see miracles.
Continue to pray for those in need.  Looking forward to seeing you soon, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice.

Friday, October 28th, 2016

Many people can look at life as a problem to be solved rather than a life to be enjoyed, loved, and lived.  When you spent your day looking for problems, other people will spend their day trying to avoid you.  It's not that we should pretend that there are no problems but when we move in love it causes us to have a momentum or a force that goes before us and problems are fixed by the power of love.  Don't be motivated to speak according to the problems you see but be motivated to speak by love.  Love God and love people my confidence in you is high.
This Sunday I'll be sharing on, 'The Will Be Done.'  These four words in the Lord's prayer can be easy to say in the good times and hard to say at other times.  Have you ever had any of those other times?  Times when His will didn't agree with your will.
Sunday evening service with Tim Neufeld has been cancelled.  Tim's 6 year son was taken to the hospital.  We do pray that God heals this little boy.
Next Sunday Nov. 6th is Family Sunday so don't forget to invite a friend to come with you to Church.
Continue to pray for all those in need.  Hope to see you soon, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

Friday, October 21st, 2016

Romans 14:17 "for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit."  His Kingdom is not about what you have but it's about how you live.  Right living brings peace and joy to you.  The question is if we don't have peace and joy what can we do about it?  We could just pretend that we have peace and joy when we are around other people.  We could redefine the words peace and joy so it looks like we have His peace and joy when we don't.  We could try harder to obey God's Word (to walk in the process of renewal knowing that we are not striving to be perfect) so His Holy Spirit could change us to live right before Him.  Life is a journey and at times we can seem lost.  The good news is we do have a GPS, God's Powerful Spirit.  My confidence is high in you that His Holy Spirit will bless you today.
This Sunday Pastor Bruce will be sharing the Word of the Lord with you.  May you be greatly blessed by his message.  I'll be away this weekend at the Moncton Victory Church conducting a Leadership Training Seminar.  Pray for me.
Coming up next Sunday Oct 30th @7 pm we are hosting the Tim Neufield concert.
Continue to pray for all those in need.  Looking forward to seeing you soon, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

Friday, October 14th, 2016

On Wednesday evening I was sharing at Bible Study some keys to successful leadership.  The truth is you can be a success in the home, in the church, and in the work place.  I was talking about how easy it is to offend others and how easily you can be offended yourself.  There is an automatic response that we all will reveal when we are offended and if you are wise you will see this response and act quickly to fix things before you have an offended brother.  Proverbs 18:19 "A brother offended is harder to win than a strong city, And contentions are like the bars of a castle."  God gives us wisdom and if we will combine His Divine wisdom with our right actions, we will find great success in life.
Tomorrow @11 at Chant's is the funeral for Arthur Spencer who's wife Heather has been attending our church the last few months.  Also tomorrow, get ready get ready get ready it's our Church Bus Tour over the Cabot Trail.  See Martin McCarthy if you would like to go.  A wonderful day has been planned for all who go on this trip around the beautiful Cabot Trail.
Sunday morning I'll be sharing on 'Great Faith.'  Our hope for things is often hidden while our faith for things is always needed to reveal our hope.  Sunday evening @6 is a water baptism service.  Faith Baptist church in Sydney has offered us their church for the evening.  We will also have a time of fellowship afterwards so if you would bring some food it would really help us out.
Next weekend I'll be speaking at a Leadership Conference in Moncton for the Victory Churches in Atlantic Canada.  I am expecting great things to happen.
In two weeks on Sunday evening @ our church @ 7 pm is Tim Neufeld & the Glory Boys.  Tickets before the event are $10 dollars and $15 at the door.

Friday, October 7th, 2016

Today is the 7th of Oct and seven in the Bible is a number of completeness.  God's creation took 7days to complete.  The number eight in the Bible is new beginnings.  Seven is complete but life is not over as we arise and enter a new season and begin again.  Thanksgiving is a celebration that the harvest is finished and the produce of the past season is gathered into the barn.   We rejoice for the labor of what was planted has been rewarded and we begin again.  In the Old Testament God required a sacrifice of an animal from the harvest, in the New Testament God request a sacrifice of praise for His goodness towards us who believe.  We are to bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord and with the fruit of our lips to give thanks.  "Lord we thank you for this past season and we trust You for the future as another new season begins."
Just a reminder that the visitation for Lin Ryan will be tonight from 7-9 at Chant's Funeral home with the Home Going Service tomorrow at 2pm.  Our prayers go to the family to be comforted by the Holy Spirit at this time.  In light of these events Martin McCarthy has postponed the Bus trip by 1 week and this moves the Bus Trip event to next Saturday Oct. 15th.  If you have booked for this week and can't go next week you will gladly be reimbursed.
This Sunday I'll be sharing on, 'Thinking of Thanks."  Sometimes we don't have to think about thanks for what's happening in a certain moment for that moment is great.  It's at other times, have you ever had any of those 'other times?'  Times when it can take a minute to find your thanks.
Continue to pray for all those in need, looking forward to seeing you real soon, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

Happiness is a by-product of love.  That's why doing what you love to do brings you happiness.  If you love going for a walk then walking makes you happy.  If you love going to church then sitting in church makes you happy.  One person can be glad to do something that another person fines hard.  To one it's a burden that causes them to complain and to another it's a joy that causes them to rejoice.  It can be the same job but it carries two points of view.  We are told to love God and love one another all the time because God knows that love makes our good days better and our burdens light.  If you hear someone complaining all the time about what they do then their love level for what there're doing is low.  Say to yourself, "I love life!"  "I love everything that God has blessed me with."  "I love everybody."  Love is the key that unlocks blessing.
This past week Shari MacKinnon went home to be with the Lord and she will be greatly missed.  Also Web Woodland left this realm to join with those on the other side.  To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.  May both families find comfort from the Holy Spirit at this time.
Tomorrow is Family Sunday so we start @10:15 with some food and fellowship followed by the morning service.  We have moved some things around so the way things are set up it will seat more people.  We are expecting some visitors and it's not too late to invite a friend.  I will be sharing on, "Gateway To heaven."  The Lord has lots of things to give us but He requires that we wait in the places where He shows up.
Coming up next Saturday there is a bus tour over the Cabot Trail.  If you would like to go please check with Martin McCarthy as there are only a  couple of seats left.
In two weeks on Sunday evening we are planning a Water Baptism service, check with Pastor Bruce for details.
Continue to pray for those in need, lots of love, looking forward to seeing you soon, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Friday, September 16th, 2016

Do you notice how people you love make you shine.  You see them and they light up your life.  It seems the more we love someone the quicker we are to forgive them.  Jesus our Savior is the light of the world and He put His light in us.  I was thinking that Christ is in us and we should strive to be the light in someone else's world.  When they see us coming it should brighten their day.  Then I was thinking that we are the light in our own world.  Do you love the fact that God made you?  Why should you love you?  People that don't like themselves have a way of taking past mistakes and using the memory of those mistakes to cast a dark shadow over their own life.  Poor me.... no it's not poor me but I am rich in love and filled with God's grace and mercy.  We should always remember to love God and love others but don't forget to love who God made when He made you.  Have a blessed day in Jesus name.
This Sunday morning I will be sharing on, 'The Right Place.'  Things always happen when we get to the right place and sometimes wrong things happen but they end up working together to get us to the right place.
This coming Tuesday @7 the ministry music of Double Portion will be at Munro Academy in Balls Creek.  This group is well worth the effort to come and hear.  Please try to attend if possible.  There will be an free will offering taken to support this ministry.
There is no midweek Bible Study this Wednesday.
Alice and I will be away next Sunday as we are attending the CFCM National Conference.  I am the Atlantic Canada Director for this ministry and each year that we attend the National Conference we are refreshed hearing about what God is doing across the nation.

You will likely enjoy most days more if you can avoid complaining about the little things that go wrong.  The little aches and pains, the little red traffic lights, the little things that others try to turn into big deals.  Solomon 2:15 "Catch us the foxes, The little foxes that spoil the vines, For our vines have tender grapes."  It's in the tender places of our heart that little things going wrong can spoil our day.  On the other hand Psalm 118:24 gives us some insight into how we can have a better day, "This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it."  Try this verse on for size and apply it to your day.  A change in your attitude will result in a change in your altitude.  Don't sweat the little stuff but walk through today with the Lord for He is setting in Heavenly places.  Psalm 5:11 "But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; Let those also who love Your name Be joyful in You."
This Sunday I'll be sharing on "Gravity."  Gravity is a pull that one thing can have on another thing.  When we make a decision to bring something close to us it can have a pull on us.  Bringing God close puts a Heavenly pull on us while bringing evil close draws us away from the things of God.  Do you know the gravity of your decisions?
Next Wednesday is Bible Study @7 pm at the Spanish River hall in Sydney River.  I will be sharing again on, 'Understanding Spiritual Dreams.'
Coming up a week from next Tuesday Sept. 20th @ 7 pm the music ministry, 'Double Portion' who are doing a tour in eastern Canada will be at Munro Academy.  They are a family ministry that you will really enjoy.  Our church is hosting this event but we will be using the Munro school.  (we will need some helpers)
Continue to pray for all those in need, confidence is high, looking forward to seeing you soon, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice.

When we speak about our best days being the days that are in front of us we are believing that things will get better in the future for us.  Don't get me wrong, I enjoy today for this is the day that the Lord has made but I believe by faith that there are better things ahead.  If you can't look far into the future and believe by faith for good then try having faith for the rest of this daySay that this day will be great, good things are coming my way, God put things in today to bless me and I will receive them.  You are paving the road ahead of you with a heart that's full of faith.  When you made excuses why today won't be a good day you place potholes in your path and with each bump you say, 'I knew this would go wrong.  Nothing good ever happens for me.'  If you were counting up from 1 to 100 each time you go to the next number it is higher than the last number you just said.  Counting up is like looking up and believing that I am going higher and higher.  Excuses are like counting backwards while trying to move forward.  Believe with me that today is going to be a great day and good news is coming your way today.
This is Family Sunday and we are expecting new people to be in our service.  We start @10:15 with food and fellowship followed by the morning service.  My message, 'The Volunteer'.  We can do many things but what is the attitude of our heart.  The right heart makes all the difference in what you will receive from the Lord.  We will share in 'Communion' at the end.
Bible Study will start again next Wednesday @7 pm.  We meet at the Spanish River hall in Sydney River.  I will be sharing on, 'Understanding Spiritual Dreams.'
Coming up on Tuesday Sept. 20th @ 7 pm the music ministry, 'Double Portion' who are doing a tour in eastern Canada will be at Munro Academy.  They are a family ministry that you will really enjoy.  Our church is hosting this event but we will be using the Munro school.  (we will need some helpers)

Friday, August 12th, 2016

Matthew 7:1-2 “Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you."  The biggest work we have is not to make the world see Jesus clearly but it's to make Jesus clearly seen to ourselves.  If we can clearly see Jesus in us, we can clearly explain Jesus to others.  Isaiah, when he was called to be a great prophet said in Isaiah 6:1 "I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple."  Once we clearly see Jesus and learn how He deals with us, we can then correctly measure out advice to others.  Keeping our eyes on Jesus and learning to focus on Him allows us to see this world from God's point of view.  In verse 6 of Matthew 7 we read, “Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces."  There are times when we have said the right thing but we declared it in the wrong place.  May you know what to say, how to say it, and when to say it and may you be a great witness for Jesus.  May you know the difference between being given an opportunity to speak for Him and you making an opportunity to speak for Him.  Today keep your eyes on Jesus and allow Him to reveal Himself in you and through you to others.
This Sunday I will be sharing the word of the Lord with you.  'Disciplined To The Call.'  Everything the Lord does is on purpose for a purpose.  We are all called by Him to bring Him glory and it's our mission in life to do life according to His will for us.  Not my will but His be done.  There are some things that we are all called to do and there are some things that each member is personally called to do.... wisdom is knowing the difference.
There are those who have asked about being Water Baptized.  If that is your desire please see Pastor Bruce and we will work on having a service for you.  Also remember to pray for Pastor Bruce this Sunday as he has been asked to be the guest speaker in Glace Bay at the Bethel Family Church.  This church needs our prayers as it seeks the will of the Lord for its future.
This coming Wednesday Alice and I will be going on vacation for two weeks.  If you have any concerns please call Pastor Bruce 562-1312 or Pastor Mark 562-1637

Friday, August 5th, 2016

This is tomorrow's e-letter today.  Proverbs 17:22 "A merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones."  A merry heart and a broken spirit both point to how we feel on the inside.  How we feel in our heart and our spirit will have an outside effect on those that are around us but the biggest effect will be internal.  If you have a headache you can be grumpy with others but the greatest one who is being hurt is you.  The internal headache may drive others away from you leaving you hurting and alone.  On the other hand a merry heart works like a medicine on the inside to help you feel better about yourself and causes you to treat others better also.  Have you ever laughed and said, "I haven't laughed like that in years."  The Holy Spirit has given us the book of Proverbs (Wisdom) to help us live a more abundant life.  Find something clean and funny to laugh about for a Godly merry heart lives inside a happy, hopeful, wonderful person.
We had a great outdoor service last Sunday night.  Pastor Mark shared a great message and we even had ice cream at the end.
This Sunday is ....get ready, get ready, get ready... It's Family Sunday!  We start @10:15 with food and fellowship followed by the morning service.  I will be sharing, 'Are You Ready To Run?'  We all are running somewhere for something but are we all running in such a way that pleases the Lord?  The reward is not only the prize that we receive but it's the love, joy, and peace that we receive from reaching the prize in a Godly fashion.  Have you ever worked hard to receive something but it didn't give you any love, joy, and peace?  It may not be the fault of the prize but the fault of how we ran to obtain the prize.  There is a right way to run.
Continue to pray for all those in need.  Looking forward to seeing you soon, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

Friday, July 29th, 2016

Proverbs 18:24 "A man who has friends must himself be friendly."  Often we want friends but we fail to act friendly.  The need or the desire to have friends must be expressed properly.  We all walk through open doors but exit when the door is locked.  If we are going to have true friends in the church then we must be open.  Not just with the words that we use but in expression, tone, our body language, hugs, and handshakes.  Proper communication should make a person feel loved, respected, and safe.  I know that finding friends can be met with rejection.  Some of the rejection comes because of our approach and some rejection can come because some people don't want any friends.  I work on me and I try not to be discouraged by others.  Jesus is a true friend and we are to follow His example.  Today, in all that you do be friendly and make others feel loved, respected, and safe when they are around you.
This Sunday morning I will be sharing, "An App for Success."  An app on your phone allows you to do things that a phone without that app can do.  The scriptures reveal apps or gifts from above that will allow us to do things that those without that app can do.  The Bible says, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13
Sunday evening @6 it's Drive-in Church on our church property Kytes Hill, Grand Lake Rd.  We are on the left one KM past the May Flower Mall heading towards the CBU.  Worship and praise, word and revelation, food and fellowship.  Join us for a great time together in the Lord.
Next Sunday is Family Sunday so invite a friend to join you.
Continue to pray for all those in need and pray for wisdom for our church leadership.  Looking forward to seeing you soon, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

Friday, July 22nd, 2016

Proverbs 8:1-2 "Does not wisdom cry out, and understanding lift up her voice? She takes her stand on the top of the high hill, beside the way, where the paths meet."  Does not wisdom cry out?  There are times when wisdom needs to say something.  Not revenge, not anger, not jealousy but wisdom speaks.  Times when silence is not golden but like John the Baptist there is the voice of one crying out in the wilderness, prepare yea the way of the Lord.  Times when we understand that it is wiser to say something than it is to walk away.  I believe the Holy Spirit trains us for years in the ways of wisdom for moments of opportunity to speak for Him.  Where the paths meet is where people cross your path.  At the intersections of life as we rub shoulders with others we can speak wise words that bring life.  As you go about your business today and interact with people be mindful that wisdom speaks.  May you say things today that will change people for eternity.
This Sunday I'll be sharing on, 'Daily Favor.'  How we act daily towards God reflects daily favor from God.  If we are hit and miss when it comes to favor then we need to examine our daily walk according with God.
Next Sunday July 31st we will have our regular morning service and Sunday evening (weather permitting) @6 Drive-in Church on our church property Grand Lake Road.
Continue to pray for those in need for prayer does make a major difference for those you pray for.  Pray for our church leadership to have the mind of the Lord in all that we do.  Looking forward to seeing you soon, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Friday, July 15th, 2016

We all will have our share of battles where we will feel that we have lost.  On that day we will feel that we were beaten and things look dark.  Our Faith is the internal light switch that turns on the power of the Holy Spirit so we can take that one bad battle and not allow our flesh to darken every battle that we ever fought.  We need to walk in the light and refuse to attend our own Pity Party.  Paul told Timothy that he needed to stir himself and move forward.  2 Corinthians 4:7-8 "...we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed."  Yes we face battles but we never face them alone.  Confidence is high, it's a way to early to quit, your best days are yet to come.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing on, "Who Is Truly Blind?"  Jesus asked this question to His disciples, "Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember?"  Jesus healed the eyes of those who were blind but the hardest eyes to had to heal were those who could already see.  The eyes of their understanding were closed.
Continue to pray for those in need.  Thank God for those in the church that have given themselves to pray more and more.  Looking forward to seeing you soon, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Happy Canada Day to all the saints.  With all of the turmoil in the world it's a good day to remember to pray for our nation and those that rule over us.  There was, is, and will continue to be, as long as sin remains, both wicket and righteous leadership.  In the beginning there was darkness ruling over the earth and then God spoke, 'let there be light.'  Everything began to change and in a few days the earth was a different place to live.  Many times what we face in life is spiritual darkness.  It's a darkness that can hide in the shadows of our heart at noonday.  It's a darkness that can hide in others when all seems bright.  God set the example when He said to darkness, 'let there be light' and we need to speak to any area of darkness that confronts us, 'let there be light.'  Let light come to our hearts, homes, churches, and communities as we declare Jesus is the light of the world.  Jesus is the answer for He reveals the hidden things and brings unseen things into the light.  May we bring Jesus, our light, into everywhere we go today.... Happy Canada Day!
The Youth Laser Tag event went well this past Wednesday night and more youth events are being planned for the summer.  Check with Pastor Mark for details.
Get ready, get ready, get ready, it's Family Sunday and we begin @10:15 with food and fellowship followed by the morning service.  Our guest speaker is Pastor Ted Yuke from the Rock Church in Lower Sackville and Ted has been a spiritual overseer for us for years.  Ted is no longer the senior pastor at Rock Church but he is being used around the world to encourage the Body of Christ.
Continue to pray in faith for all the needs that are around us.  Looking forward to seeing you soon, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

In Matthew 16:19 Jesus said, "And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."  Jesus used the word keys and not the word key.  There are many keys in the Kingdom of God because there are many doors in His Kingdom with different locks.  Also there are doors that appear in one season that were not around in a former season and there will be new doors in future seasons.  Jesus has all the keys to every door and He is willing to give them to us. Luke 11:9-10 "So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened."  Years ago I received a vision of a parking lot filled with different cars and trucks and on the wall where I was standing were lots of keys hanging and each key was marked to match one of the vehicles.  A voice in the vision said to me, "pick one on the keys and take it for a ride."  As I reached for a certain key that was marked red hot sports car the vision paused and the voice asked me, "Why did you pick that one?"  I replied, "That's the one I liked the most."  The voice said, "that's the way it is in My Kingdom, I offer all the keys to My Kingdom but people only pick what they like the most."  The vision ended and I pondered for many days the insight that the Lord was trying to reveal to me.  I understand now that I have been given all the keys and the key that I need is the one that will open the door that's before me. I may not like the look of the key or the car but if it's the one that takes me to the next level of faith, then hop in we're going to the next level.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing on, 'Preparing A Gallows.'  What we prepare for others is often what we have to deal with ourselves.  Prepare good things for others and good things will come back to you.
Coming up next Wednesday will be a Laser Tag event for the youth.  Check with Pastor Mark for details.  Next Sunday July 3rd is Family Sunday and we will have with us Pastor Ted Yuke from the Rock Church in Lower Sackville.  Ted has been a spiritual overseer for me and our church from the very beginning.  When I have had questions that I didn't know the answer to I would call Pastor Ted for some advice.  Ted is no longer the senior pastor at Rock Church but is being used around the world to encourage the Body of Christ.
Continue to pray in faith for all the needs that are around us.  He who has friends is friendly so be your wonderful self and be friendly to the many new people who are coming to our church.  Looking forward to seeing you soon, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

We all have a measure of faith and we all have hope towards a better future.  Faith and hope are to work together but they are not the same thing.  Faith needs to be first and as we hear from God our faith raises up within us and we declare the thing that God revealed.  Our hope believes that whatever God said will surly soon come to pass.  On the other hand we all can have hopes that are not connected to us hearing from God.  We can hope for a nice summer, hope it doesn't rain tomorrow, or hope to go on vacation.  We can declare these hopes without us hearing an active word from God first.  Thus every good thing is not a God thing even though it's not a bad thing.  Thus for us in the Kingdom of God, faith is required to come first if we want God to work on our behave.  Romans 1:17 "For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”  I pray that everything we have faith for will quickly come to pass.
This is Father's Day Sunday and as much as we should celebrate our earthly dads I believe our Father which art in Heaven is also worthy of our praise.  As we honour God on this Father's Day may His Heavenly love be poured out upon all of us.  Get ready, get ready, get ready for sharing the word of the Lord with us will be Doctor Emanuel a faithful member from our congregation.  I know that Emanuel is a great dad to his children and he will have many words of wisdom that come from his relationship with the Lord.
Coming up on July 3rd we will have with us Pastor Ted Yuke from the Rock Church in Lower Sackville.  Ted has been a spiritual overseer for me and our church from the very beginning.  When I have had questions that I didn't know the answer to I would call Pastor Ted for some advice.  Ted is no longer the senior pastor at Rock Church but is being used around the world to encourage the Body of Christ.

Friday, June 3rd, 2016

Hope you are having a blessed day.  I have always felt that a healthy home and a healthy church require the same things.  Family verses Church.  When a group of people come together who are seeking the purposes of God we could call it family or church.  Keeping together is a process where we learn to love each other for who they are.  Working together happens as we learn to lean on each other to fulfill His purposes.  Staying together is called unity and it will require maturity on the part of each member.  2 Corinthians 4: 16-17 "Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.  For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal."
Get ready, get ready, get ready as we are having another great Family Sunday!  We start @10:15 with food and fellowship followed by the morning service.  With us will be the Lumber River Quartet to share their gift in music.  I will also be sharing, 'Prepared for Success.'  Success is a prepared place and we can't just want success but we must be prepared for success.  Don't forget to bring some food and invite a friend.
An update; We have had yet another delay in our endeavor to purchase the former St. Anthony  Daniel church.  It seems our requirement for enough parking is the problem.  We made this item very clear in the beginning that not enough parking would be for us a deal breaker and it seemed to be clearly understood.  Since then there have been other interest within their organization about the use of the property that have come into play.  We don't feel that anyone has done anything wrong or misleading but all the information about the internal plans they had for the land were not clear and it took this process to find these things out.  We do feel that God will in the next few weeks either open the door and we will proceed with joy or with joy we will move on to something else that the Lord has for us.  Our God is bigger than anything that we can or cannot see.  James 1:2-4 "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.  But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing."

Isaiah 41:10 "Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."  It's interesting how the promises of God can be applied to all of us, regardless of our circumstances.  The revelation of His Word is that it's been written to help us, lead us and guide us as His children.  As long as there are any of His children on the earth His promises are yes and amen to those that believe.  The battle to walk in peace is not found in believing that God can help, but the victory is discovered when we truly believe God will help us no matter what!  May the Prince of Peace walk with you today.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing, 'Do You Have A License?' It's hard to stop doing something wrong when you feel that you have a license to do it.  I'm a police officer so I can speed if I want to.  I was hurt as a child so I can be in a rage if I want to.  What's in your wallet?
Next Sunday is.... get ready get ready get ready FAMILY SUNDAY.  We start @10:15 with food and fellowship followed by the morning service.  Bring some food and invite some friends.  We will also have with us on Family Sunday 'the Lumber River Quartet.'  And yes this year there will be four of them singing.

Friday, May 20th, 2016

Good morning to all the faithful.  Have you ever met someone who was having a bad day?  They were under a cloud and it had been raining.  I think Noah and his family knew what it was to have a rainy day but when it ended God sent a rainbow as a sign that the rain was over and a great change had taken place.  Ezekiel the Prophet heard from God after he was reminded about the rainbow.  Ezekiel 1:28 "Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. So when I saw it, I fell on my face, and I heard a voice of One speaking."  When you meet people who are under a cloud could it be that God has brought you to them for you to be their rainbow?  Could it be that you are their breath of fresh air and God uses you to make them feel that the sun, His Son, is breaking through?  I believe that God does this all the time so may you brighten and give hope to everyone you meet today.
This Sunday I'll be sharing on, 'I Can See Clearly Now.'  When I look back at where I've been I can see clearly that God has always been with me.  I can see that all that I know has been deposited in me along the way.  Invite a friend to hear a revelation from Heaven.

The Bible tells us that the joy of the Lord is our strength.  It's His joy in us that strengthens us so we can move forward without fear and trembling.  When we think about all the people affected by the fire in Fort McMurray, we  pray that they find His strength in the midst of their stress, His peace in the midst of their problems, and His hope for their future in the midst of the loss of the things that are attached to their past.
There are times when we all face things, that's life.  The trouble for each of us is the limited amount of personal strength that we have to fight the battles that are before us.  Sometimes... the best that we can do is not enough to make a difference and if it had not been for God, where would we be?  Thanks be to God for His joy is our strength!  Our Confidence is high, rely on His joy to give you strength and have a blessed day in the Lord.
This is Mother's Day weekend and Sunday morning I'll be sharing on, 'A Shift Into Motherhood.'  In life we are always moving forward and the question is; are we prepared for the next level?  We say get ready get ready get ready but are you ready?  Change is coming and may we shift well into all that the Lord has for us.
Continue to pray for all those in need, looking forward to seeing you soon, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice.

When Jesus was around 12 years old He was in the Temple amazing the scholars with His teaching.  The trouble was He never told His parents where He was going or what He was doing and they went searching for Him.  When they found Him He said in Luke 2:49-50 “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?”  But they did not understand the statement which He spoke to them."  Jesus said that He was about His Father's business and they did not understand.  Not everyone understands those that are in the business of serving the Lord.  The Good News business is one where we work together with the Holy Spirit to bring dying people into a living relationship with God.  Today, everywhere you go, may you be about your Heavenly Father's business.
Tomorrow at the school, noon till 2 our ladies are hosting a community Ladies luncheon.  Evangelist Anita Pierce will be piercing the darkness and shining the light of Jesus.  Anita is full of faith and her confidence is high that good things are about to happen for us.  She will also be ministering for us on Sunday.
Saturday evening @7 there will be a Coffee House at Grace Fellowship to raise money for a mission's trip to Germany.
This is Family Sunday so get ready, get ready, get ready.  We start @10:15 with food and fellowship followed by the morning service.  This is a great time to bring a friend to experience the love of God.
On Monday evening at the Bethel Presbyterian Church in Sydney @7 Suzanne Doane will be hosting a musical evening as a fund raiser for Lifeline Syria.  Silver collection will be received.
Next Friday @7:30 am is the Annual Prayer Breakfast.  If you would like to go you can see Pastor Bruce for a ticket.  Tickets are $25.00

Jesus was teaching His disciples about His Father's Kingdom and how it was often very different than the world that was around them.  Jesus points out that the Religious leaders would often teach the right stuff but they were not living the right lifestyle.  In the world it would be those who had the most servants that were the greatest but Jesus said, "he who is greatest among you shall be your servant.  And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted." Matthew 23:11-12
Being a servant in attitude and action has to remain the main focus in the Kingdom of God.  I marvel at those who truly have this servant thinking working in their lives.  They do not boast in who they are or what they have but are humble to show honor to others.  We are truly a work in progress as we learn humbleness in our journey through the many levels of servant hood.   May we please the Lord Jesus with our attitude and actions today.
This Sunday I'll be sharing on, "The Real Action Heroes."  Jesus is the light of the world and His light often reveals the areas of our lives where we need to change.  The good news is His light only reveals those areas that are possible to change.  It's illumination from His Word that brings revelation to our heart that brings transformation to our lives.
Coming up on Saturday April 30th noon till 2pm at the Sherwood Park is a ladies lunch with Evangelist Anita Pierce.  She will also be speaking to us on May 1st Family Sunday.
Continue to pray for all those in need, looking forward to seeing you soon, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice.

Wasn't last Sunday services great?  The morning service was filled with the anointing and presence of the Lord and in the evening 16 people were Baptized.  Praise the Lord!  At Bible Study we were talking about how to change and become better at living out our faith as we walk with the Lord Jesus.  The Bible tells us that we perish for lack of knowledge so we need Knowledge of the Word of God, Knowledge about who we are, and knowledge about those that are around us.  Armed with the right information we then need to have the desire to please the Lord and change.  After the Bible Study ended it was said, 'change is not painful but it's our resistance to change that's painful.'  My parable; if you said something mean a couple of times and the Lord said, 'stop doing that.'  You could obey the Lord without much resistance.  On the other hand if you were saying something mean every day of your life to everyone you talked to and the Lord said, 'stop doing that.'  Your personal resistance to change would be greater and harder for you to accomplish.  The truth to change for both is equal but the person's personal resistance will be different.  May we all be strengthened in the inner person to lovingly allow His Holy Word to change our world.
This Saturday evening I have been invited to be the guest speaker at the annual Cape Breton Bible Camp Banquet in Millville.  It is always an honor to share a revelation from God with other believers.
This Sunday morning I'll be speaking on, 'The Real Life of A Leader.'  A real leader is someone who God prepares for leadership before they ever become a leader.  Invite a friend to join you in church this Sunday.
In December the church leadership decided due to many circumstances that we should stop having Sunday evening services for 3 months.  The circumstances that were in place then haven't changed but we are in the process of having our own church building.  Once we are in our new church we will look at our weekly schedule to see how things will work.  Thank you for your support for all the things that we do.

When we play games like hockey or baseball there needs to be a home plate or a net to score in.  Imagine if there was no home plate or no net, you could endlessly play the game and never have a winner.  By never winning there would never be a celebration of victory.  As Christians we need to have goals in life or we will endlessly work for the Lord and never have a victory.  In the beginning when God was creating things He would say at the end of the day, 'it was good.'  It was good as far as He got even if it wasn't finished.
It is a good life to serve the Lord and we should celebrate each day with thanks for the goodness of God.  Psalm 118:24 "This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it."  When I think about our salvation I rejoice for Jesus has crossed the home plate and won the victory for all of us.  Celebrate your salvation and have a blessed day today.
This Sunday I'll be sharing on, 'Being Fed in The Famine.'  The Lord always has spiritual food to satisfy our hungry.  No matter what valley we are going through His Word will provide inward strength for all of us.  Sunday evening we are having a Water Baptism service.  The Faith Baptist church has once again offered us the use of their church to hold our service in.  This is always an exciting time for us as we watch people make a step into the water as they obey the scriptures and follow the Lord Jesus.

How long do we keep hoping that something that's been broken can be fixed?  King David had a hope that his infant son would not die.  He prayed, hoped, cried out to God and then when he was told that the baby was dead he cleaned himself up and moved on.  His servants thought David would be worse when he heard the bad news but he said that while the child lived he still hoped but once the child died he dropped the matter and began again.  In talking to couples about a broken relationship I have advised them that they need to quickly forgive each other.  If they don't the problem may seem impossible to fix and someone will decide it's dead, it's over, there's nothing more I can do and move on.  If we want all of our relationships to last a lifetime then forgive those that trespass against you.
Get ready get ready get ready it's Family Sunday and that means we start @10:15 with food and fellowship followed by the morning service.  I will be sharing, 'Living At the Next Level.'  There are many levels to live life on and the Lord always calls us higher.  Get ready to move to a new level of faith as Jesus calls us upward and onward.
Continue to pray for all those in need and continue to pray about the new church building that everything would go smoothly as we move forward.  Looking forward to seeing you soon, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Friday, March 25th, 2016

Praise the Lord for we know the great victory that was won at the Cross.  The blood of Jesus paid in full the wages for all of our sin.  The song writer penned, 'My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought! My sin, not in part but the whole, Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more, Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!'  It's strange how we view the test of our faith before we see the fulfillment of His promise in our life.  Jesus prayed for the cup of what He had to endure to be passed from Him.  Have you ever prayed for a problem to go away?  Looking back it's been at those crosses that we had to bare that we came to a crossroad and God used the cross to point us towards a new day.  Good Friday is not our greatest defeat but alas it's our greatest victory.
Today @10:30 there is a Good Friday service at Bethel Family Church in Glace Bay.  Then tomorrow evening @7 is The "Passion of Christ."  This will be held under the direction of Mary MacLean and is at our church location, 500 Terrace St.  Everyone is welcome and there is no charge.
Easter Sunday morning I'll be sharing on, 'The Force Awakens.'  The force of all creation could not be held in the grave but He's Alive!  Invite a friend to join you this weekend.
Continue to pray for all those in need.  Looking forward to seeing you soon, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

Friday, March 18th, 2016

When we take the time today to repair the mistakes that we made yesterday, we are then prepared to walk successfully into tomorrow.  The love and forgiveness that we express to each other is a reflection of the love and forgiveness that we have received from God.  When we don't love each other it's a sign that we are not as close to God's love as we should be.  James 4:7-8 "Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.  Draw near to God and He will draw near to you."  When we are far away from God it's easy for the devil to bug us.  Loving and forgiving others is a natural response for those that are spiritually close to God.  If you need to love people more then you need to stay close and not stray away from a closer walk with the Lord.  Enjoy the day and keep smiling as goodness and mercy walk by your side.
Get ready, get ready, get ready, for tomorrow morning @8:30 is our Men's Breakfast at the Salvation Army Church in Sydney.  This event has been a highlight of the year for the men who attend.  Pastor David McGrew will be our guest speaker and he will also be with us for our Sunday morning service.   David is the National Director for CFCM (Canadian Fellowship of Churches and Ministers) and he speaks as one who sees clearly into us having a true relationship with the Lord Jesus.
Next Weekend is Easter and we will be joining with Bethel Family Church in Glace Bay @10:30 in the morning for a Good Friday service.  Then on Saturday evening @7 is the "Passion of Christ."  This will be held under the direction of Mary MacLean and is at our church location, 500 Terrace St.  Everyone is welcome and there is no charge.

Friday, March 11th, 2016

In life when someone points out our flaws we quickly learn how to make excuses rather than learn how to make improvements.  If we do own the flaw, if the flaw is how we act then we should try to change.  Philippians 3:13-14 "Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."   Say our problem is to be negative all the time and we make an excuse like, 'I'm just a perfectionist.'  We are in fact holding onto our problem and if we are going to move forward then we can't keep excusing it.  Paul's advice was to keep pressing, keep changing for the prize of God is before you.  Have a super day and don't forget to move your time machine ahead 1 hour tomorrow night.

This Sunday morning I'll be sharing on, 'Are You Still?'  Are you still trying to become who you committed yourself to become.  I have found that I need His Divine help to empower me to reach the places He wants me to reach.

Next Saturday March 19th 8:30 am is our annual Men's Breakfast at the Salvation Army church.  Our guest speaker will be the National Director for the Canadian Fellowship of Christian Ministries Pastor David McGrew.  Pastor David will also be ministering on Sunday the 20th of March in our church.

Coming up on the Easter Weekend Mary MacLean has been working hard on a drama presentation.  It will be performed on the Saturday evening of March 26th, more details to follow.

We now have several requests for Water Baptism.  We are planning for the evening of Sunday April 10th at the Faith Baptist Church.  If you need to be water baptized please contact Pastor Bruce for more details.

Friday, March 4th, 2016

Today maybe just another ordinary day for you, but on the other hand Psalm 118:24 says, "This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it."  Our duty each day including today is to rejoice and be glad.  Don't complain, don't argue, don't fight, and don't be depressed for those things will rob you from reaching and enjoying the good things that the Lord has put into today for you.  The Lord tells us how to walk through today because He knows that the right attitude in us will cause us to recognize His blessings that are around us.  So go ahead and smile, God is on your side.

This is Family Sunday and we start @10:15 for breakfast followed by the morning service.  I will be sharing, 'Don't Sell Yourself Short.'  If we could see our full potential we would never be empty of grace, hope, and love.  Invite someone to come with you and may we together encounter the power of God that changes lives.

Then on Saturday March 19th 8:30 am is our annual Men's Breakfast at the Salvation Army church.  Our guest speaker will be the National Director for the Canadian Fellowship of Christian Ministries Pastor David McGrew.  Pastor David will also be ministering on Sunday the 20th of March in our church.

Friday, February 26th, 2016

Every year we experience 4 seasons.  We know that it's winter now but spring is right around the corner, followed by summer, and then we'll have the fall.  It's important to have good past memories from former seasons for it's often our past memories that move us into our future blessings.  If we forget all the good things that have happened we may get stuck in a bad season for years.  Joshua was crossing over the Jordan and the Lord told him to pick 12 stones from the river and pile them up on the Promise Land side.  Why do such a thing?  Joshua 6:6-7 "that this may be a sign among you when your children ask in time to come, saying, ‘What do these stones mean to you?’  Then you shall answer them that the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord; when it crossed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. And these stones shall be for a memorial to the children of Israel forever.”
This event of crossing over the Jordan was to be remembered for the years ahead.  In tough times, hard times, bad times, and sad times they could look again at the stones and remember that God is good.  Let's us remember that in the past the Lord has provided, helped, healed, and made a way where there seemed to be no way.  Choose your memories wisely for we do not know what tomorrow holds but we do know the One who holds tomorrow.  If He did it before then He will do it again.
This Sunday is the last Sunday of Feb. and I'll be sharing on, "It's A Miracle.'  We need to expect a miracle and be ready to obey the Lord to receive a miracle.  Often it's the way that the Lord tells us to travel that hinders us from receiving a miracle.  We like the miracle but we may not like the box that it came wrapped in.
Get ready, get ready, get ready we are a week away from Family Sunday.  Invite someone to be with you and may they encounter the power of God and their life be changed forever.

Friday, February 19th, 2016

Life is like a two thousand piece puzzle.  I remember my mother doing large piece puzzles as a pastime when I was growing up.  She would open the box and spread out the pieces that would cover the dining room table.  It could take her a few weeks or even a month to come up with a finished product.  I asked her what if all the pieces won't in the box to start with or if in the time it took to fit it together pieces got lost?  She didn't seem to be too concerned as she would do her part to fit each piece in its proper place.
For us who are in God's family each piece of the puzzle is like someone we know and only by working to fit us together do we get the picture of what Christ is doing on the earth.  Ephesians 4:15 "speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love."
The trouble is we all have a free will and our will may fight with God's will for where He has placed us.  We must surrender ourselves to be faithful to allow His Holy Spirit to knit us together.  Ephesians 6:13 "Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."  Continue to stand and to be faithful for the Lord will change your world and others will see your good works and glorify God in Heaven.
This Sunday morning I will be sharing a life changing message, "Falling In The Wrong Place."  We all make mistakes but how our mistakes impact us can be different according to who is around us.  Do we make our mistakes among friends or do we make our mistakes among thieves?
This coming Wednesday 7pm for Bible Study we will be showing the movie, "The War Room."  This is an excellent heart warming family movie about the power of God to change our lives.  It centers around a troubled family and how the Lord uses certain things to heal their broken relationships.  Please join us.
Next month on Saturday March 19th 8:30 am Martin McCarthy and the men's group (with the help of our ladies) will be hosting our annual Men's Breakfast.  We have already booked the Salvation Army church for this great event and are expecting the Holy Spirit to work to help us to become all that we should be.  Our guest speaker will be the National Director for the Canadian Fellowship of Christian Ministries Pastor David McGrew.  Pastor David is a man of profound wisdom and God has given him a great ability to impart that wisdom to people everywhere.  David travels much throughout Canada ministering in the strong Apostolic gift that God has given to him.  David and his wife Jeanne currently serve as Pastors of Keystone Victoria Christian Ministries in Victoria, British Columbia.  David will also be ministering on Sunday the 20th of March in our church.
We have recently had two request for Water Baptism.  We are working on a time to provide this ministry and if you would desire to be water baptized please contact Pastor Bruce for more details.

Psalm 40:3 "He has put a new song in my mouth— Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, and will trust in the Lord."  There are times when you need a new song because the enemy has attacked us in some new way.  If you have been following the Lord Jesus for awhile it may not be an attack with a new problem but it's often an old problem that shows up in a new way.  Like Jesus healing the sick, He would use different ways to heal those that were sick.  When we are faced with different problems we need new ways and new songs of praise to uproot the enemy and cause him to flee from us.  I have had different problems that came my way and the Lord would give me a song in the night.  The song was a spiritual weapon for me to use.  We need to put new songs of praise on our lips for the new song comes to stir our faith which will enable us to put our trust in the Lord.  This is the second month of 2016 and there is a growing feeling in my heart that God is going to do great things for us this year.  Psalm 96:1 "Oh, sing to the Lord a new song! Sing to the Lord, all the earth."
This Sunday lands on Valentine's Day and in the morning I'll be sharing on, 'Our Love One For Another.'  What does it take to make a relationship work and what can destroy it?  Sunday evening we have a Sweet evening planned with guest electric violinist, Trevor Dick.  Trevor will play and share his testimony.  Please bring some sweets along with your sweetheart and we will provide coffee and tea.

Yesterday's failures work to produce many of today's fears and tomorrows worrisome expectations.  There is a man that I know who has suffered with inner ear problems for years.  Recently he found out that when he worries it triggers his health problems.  Walking in a place of God's peace requires that we not only start of in faith but we need to maintain our faith.  "Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." Philippians 3:13-14  There are some things in our past that we can't explain, we can't answer, and we can't change so we must forget it if we ever want to get over it.  Move on today in faith for your best days are yet to come.
This Sunday is Family Sunday and we expect to have lots of food, fellowship, and friends.  Our guest speaker is Pastor Matt Carpenter from Fort Kent Maine.  Matt is a Pastor to his church in Fort Kent and works as an Apostle to many ministries in the US.  We start @10:15 for food and fellowship followed by the morning service.  Invite a friend and let's believe together that the Lord will touch their life.

Blessings to the family of God.  Paul wrote in Ephesians 3:14-16 "For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man."  It's wonderful to consider that once a person accepts Christ they join the family of God and it's only one family whether you live in Heaven or earth.  We can often divide ourselves by thinking that we belong to the family of God on earth and when we die we join the family of God in Heaven.  God only sees one family Hebrews 12:1 "Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us."  This present cloud of witnesses that are around us are the past saints that have gone on before us.  We can now run this present race knowing that in the realm of the Spirit there is a great number of past saints cheering us on.  Be encouraged today you are never alone.
This Sunday Lord willing and weather permitting I'll be sharing on, 'He's For Me.'  There is a fundamental or a basic level of faith that we all need to understand about God...He is For me!  If you know that He is for you then you won't credit God with giving you things that are not good for you.  Invite a friend to come to church with you this Sunday.
Carl MacDonald who was a long time Board member of our church has joined the eternal great cloud of witnesses this week.  Carl was a faithful member and friend.  Visitation for Carl will be on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 at Curries Funeral Home in Glace Bay.  The funeral service will be 2pm on Monday at the Funeral Home.
Chinese New Year will be celebrated at the CBU on Thursday Feb. 4th 6-8 in the evening.  Tickets are free but you need one to attend. E-mail ChineseNewYear@cbu.ca and they will help you obtain a ticket.
We are only one Sunday away from Family Sunday and we will have as our guest speaker, Apostle Matt Carpenter from Maine.  He is a man that believes in the Super Natural with signs and wonders.

John 8:12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”  This reminds me of the old song, 'this little light of mine, I'm going to let it shine.'  We were all born into this world like an unlit candle.  We were born into a world of darkness and did not have the ability to light ourselves.  Jesus is God's eternal flame that comes to us and offers us salvation.  His salvation comes as His light touches us and our internal wick bursts into flames.  We are suddenly no longer children of the darkness but we now walk in the light as Jesus is in the light.  As you travel through today let your light so shine before men that they see your good works and your light points them to come to His light.
There is a open to everyone Coffee House tonight @6:30 for Angela Barlett at Munro Academy. (the Christian School)  Angela is a young lady from our church who is going on a Mission trip to the Dominican Republic.  There will be refreshments and entertainment.  If you can't make it to the Coffee House tonight you are welcome to give something in the offering on Sunday towards this Mission.
Get ready get ready get ready... This Sunday morning I'll be sharing on, 'The Battle Before You.'  The Lord leads us through the battles we face and onto victory.  The evil that the enemy was hoping to do in attacking us God gives us advice and it turns out for our good.

Adam in the Bible walked with God.  I think that must have been something to walk with God.  The disciples walked with Jesus.  That must have been something to walk with Jesus.  Then I understood another truth, when I accepted Jesus into my heart, Jesus now walks with me.  That's good news but there can also be a problem.  It's possible for someone to walk with you and not be noticed by you.  We can become so caught up in our world that we forget that He is right there with us.  We need to focus and rely on the fact that Jesus is always with us.  Even when we are faced with what seems like an impossible circumstance, we are with God, and with God all things are possible.  Remember today that the Creator of Heaven and earth, the Almighty God walks with you.
This Sunday I'll be sharing on. 'What's the Big Rush?'  We can be in such a hurry to become a successful Christian that we miss being faithful in the little things.  Jesus wants us to make the journey safely rather than quickly.

2016 is here and the race is on.  What race you ask?  Well it's the race we're running as we keep the faith and press towards the good things that are set before us.  Not only are we to keep holding onto the good things we have but we are to avoid carrying any of the bad things that happen to us.  Hebrews 12:1 "Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us."  This new year let's not carry any grudges, let's lay aside the need to get revenge, and let's walk in the freedom of us having a renewed mind.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing on, 'The Voice of Perfection Is Deception.'  When we feel that we need a certain thing and then life will be perfect we have been deceived.  What we should be seeking is balance and acting mature in less than perfect circumstances.  Invite a friend to come with you this Sunday to hear a life changing message.
Our live streaming is going very well and our podcast have had over 1000 download in the last 6 months.  God is good and God be praised.

Happy New Year, it's like another chance to get it right.  We used different words last year to bring us into different places and may we say the right words in all the days of this yet to be spoken New Year that will bring us closer into the will of our Heavenly Father.  A man in our church said that he used to think about different resolutions and then one year he said that his resolution was to get closer to Jesus and he said it's been working ever since.  I believe that his resolution is a revelation that leads us to having a great transformation and a blessed New Year.  Ephesians 4:21-24 "if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness."  May throughout this New Year the truth in your heart about Jesus be found in the fruit of your lips.
This is Family Sunday and a great way to start the New Year.  We need lots of food as we prepare our church to welcome lots of visitors.  We start @10:15 and we ask everyone not to go in the music room early to get something to eat or drink as others may think the breakfast has started.  I'll be sharing on, 'Newness.'  New is not something that is new as everyday is new but how do we embrace new with a clear understanding of where we've been?  We will be serving Communion and there is no evening service.

Friday, December 25th, 2015

Christmas 2015 has arrived and the birth of Jesus the Christ is being celebrated around the world.  Last Sunday the children did an outstanding presentation and we had a great day yesterday at Loaves and Fishes singing the songs of the season.  One man said to me, 'Thank you, you put a smile on my face and it now feels like Christmas.'  I hope that you and your family have been having a good Christmas day so far.  In saying that we should also remember to pray for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one, those in the hospital, or those that are lonely like some of our foreign students who are miles and miles away from home.  May we all have great hope for the New Year to see miracles, signs, and wonders and may many of our friends come to know Jesus as their Savior and Lord.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing on, 'Keeping Connected.'  How do we stay close to God while living in a world that's not?  We will also have a baby dedication for Chris and Violet Campbell who are home with their new baby.  In the evening, people will be testifying about what they learned in 2015 and what they hope to see in 2016.  Next Sunday is a brand New Year and our first Family Sunday for 2016.  Bring food and invite a friend and watch what the Lord will do for you.
