Praise the Lord for He is good.  What is salvation?  Is it making flawed people perfect?  No, it's making flawed people accepted into the family of God.  None of us are perfect...well most of us aren't.  There are some people who think that they are perfect and everyone else is flawed.  There are others who really know that they are flawed but they believe that someone they know is perfect.  The balance is knowing Romans 3:19 "there is none righteous, no, not one."  And Romans 3:24 "for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God."  Then accept John 1:12 "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name."  The promise is not to reach perfection but to have a real relationship with the living God.  Who I was and who I am has changed because who's I was and who's I am has changed.  Jesus is our Lord.
This is Family Sunday so bring some food and friends and come early (15 minutes early).  The food will be set up in the music room (across from the bathrooms) for the first time as we try to work with the seating in the service.  I'll be sharing a message entitled, "Ready To Sing."  Are you ready to sing even when it looks like you have nothing to sing about?  Today's Faith will cause you to be singing today about tomorrow's victory.  We will be serving Communion and on Family Sunday there is no evening service.
There will be no Church Bible Study on Wednesday until the New Year to make the hall available for Christmas choir practice.  Next Saturday 6pm is our Annual Christmas Banquet.  We have over 250 tickets out there which means that this will be our largest Christmas banquet ever.  Another history making moment, like last Sunday was when we opened the overflow for the first time.  To God be all the praise and glory for the great things that He is doing towards us.  Thank you for working together in love in the newness of this hour
Continue to pray for those in need, looking forward to seeing you, lot's of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Praise the Lord for His mercy and grace.  We thank God for the growth in the numbers of new people that are attending the church.  That being said, a growth in maturity within the church happened before the growth in numbers.  This is a true principle, even in creation babies can't give birth to babies but it's the mature adults that gives birth to babies.  It's the job of the  Holy Spirit to add to the church such as should be saved.  In the early church new people were added daily.  If daily 20 people got saved and they all came to church the following week, there would be 140 new people in the church each week.  That would be wonderful but it's the job of the Holy Spirit to first look at the church and as the church is mature enough to handle some babies, the Holy Spirit calls them and sends them along.  I encourage you to grow in mercy and grace and allow the love of God to be shed abroad in your heart.
Tomorrow at Chant's Funeral Home there will be the home going service for Marjorie Conrad who was a faithful member of our congregation.  From 12 noon till 2 is visitation with the family, the funeral is @2 followed by a time of fellowship.  We pray for Divine comfort to all of Marjorie's family and friends.
Sunday morning we will be having as special guest the Burke Family singing the songs of Christmas.  I will also share a message, 'Broken Pieces A New Day.'  Many times after we are broken down it's hard to be built up.  Jesus offers hope to broken people.  Sunday evening Pastor Mark with be sharing on, 'Kingdom Tension.'  There are many pressures today coming from many voices and we need to hear the clear word of the Lord and hold it tightly in our heart.
Next Sunday Dec. 1st is Family Sunday so plan to come early, bring some food, and some friends.
Continue to pray for those in need, looking forward to seeing you all, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Praise the Lord Jesus for He is good.  Have you changed any in the last year?  I don't mean just in age where you got a year older but do you act and think differently?  Are you any different today than say you were five years ago?   As I was thinking about this question I wondered about others who were negative before and didn't get along with others, have they changed?  Sometimes we judge people based on who they used to be and over time they changed but we don't know about it.  We meet them and say, 'wow, they are sure different than they used to be.'  The Holy Spirit said to me,'That's one good reason not to hold a grudge for the old grudge may no longer apply to the renewed person.'  It's a new day as long as you don't drag hurts and grudges into your new day an wreck it. This is the new day that the Lord has made for you to enjoy so rejoice and be glad in it.
Don't forget that this is the last Sunday to bring in your Christmas Shoe Boxes.  Also please pick up your Christmas banquet tickets as soon as possible as we are reaching the max number for the room.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing on, 'Keeping Praise Alive."  Our praise makes a landing pad for God's Holy presence to fill the church.  Without praise and worship the church becomes empty and void of life.  I will enter His gates (the church) with thanksgiving in my heart and I will enter His courts (the inner place) with praise.  Sunday evening, 'Who Owns You?'  We say that we belong to God but we often worry about stuff that our owner Jesus, who is our Lord and Saviour is to be looking after for us.
Continue to pray for those in need.  Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

Praise the Lord as we walk by faith expecting great things to happen.  Expecting great things or good things or blessings to be waiting in your future, causes you to move forward into those expected things.  If you expect nothing good then why get out of bed in the morning, why go to church.  We used to sing a song, 'something good is going to happen to you, Jesus of Nazareth is passing your way.'  You may be disappointed with something in your life but the Holy Spirit has put in your future an appointment with a blessing. Psalm 30:5 "Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning."  Our part is not to create a miracle in our future but rather to walk expecting that miracles are going to happen in our future.  Walk into today expecting something good is going to happen today.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing, 'Lord Increase My Faith.'  There are times when we need more faith because we are walking into places where more faith is required.  If you don't increase in faith you will decrease in joy for joy is a sign that proper faith is present.  In the evening, 'Finding Out Where You Are.'  Life often leads us into places where we don't want to be and if we stay in the wrong place to long, we will begin to think that wrong is alright.
Continue to pray for those in need, lots of love, looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Praise the Lord for another wonder filled day.  We had about 20 scary and some not so scary people at the door last night.  People pretending to be someone other than who they really are.  My thought this morning is, 'Halloween's over, it's time to take of the mask.'  The Message Bible Romans 12:1-2 "So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you."  Being real is hard if it means being rejected by this world.  It may be easy to put on a mask and make everyday Halloween but it will never lead you into maturity.  Be real about your faith and God will prove to you just how big He is.
Rachel Colford is having her first CD release tomorrow evening 7:30 @ the Holiday Inn in Sydney.  Everyone is welcome to come and celebrate with her.
This Sunday is Family Sunday so don't forget that we start early @ 10:15, bring some food to share with others, and invite a friend to enjoy the service.  On Family Sunday there is no evening service and there will be no early choir practice this week.  Monday evening @6 @ the Bible Study Hall Pastor Mark and Amy are looking for young people who would be interested in working together to do some special things for Christmas.
Don't forget to fill your shoe boxes and bring them in.  Also pick up your Christmas banquet ticket.  The Church room for the banquet can seat about 230.  We don't want to see anyone miss so make sure you get your ticket.  Bob and Lin Ryan have a table at the back of the church.  This year's guest speaker at the banquet is Glen Tetford from Newfoundland.  Glen as a child was healed of cancer and today is a very anointed speaker in the Kingdom of God.  He preaches, sings and plays at churches, conferences, and national leadership meetings all across Canada. Glen has a great sense of humour and has several music CD's.
