Proverbs 24:16 “For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again, but the wicked shall fall by calamity.”  We often judge people by their success when what teaches us how to be humble and handle success is failure.  We like to think that we are humble but it’s in the view of the bottom and the hope to go higher that we repent, rise up, and overcome defeat.  We all know what it is to fall down but when you decide to stay down, that’s when a past mistake makes your life a calamity.  A past mistake is not strong enough to keep you trapped in that mistake when you humble yourself and ask God to forgive you.  When you fail to repent it reveals that you are full of pride and that makes you wicked in the eyes of the Lord.  The righteous person must keep repenting because life is full of potholes.  When I look out and see you in church each week I thank God, not because you all have had a perfect week but because you have chosen in the midst of life’s problems to rise again, and again, and again.  You are a testimony both in the words you speak and in the deeds you do.  The Lord and I encourage you to keep getting up and keep moving forward for you are about to receive your miracle in Jesus name Amen.
This Sunday I’ll be sharing on, ‘A little Can Be More Than Enough.’  We often act like we need to have more in order to do more but in the Kingdom of God He uses our faith to do more than what seems possible for us to do.  This word could change your life so invite a friend and come expecting the Lord to move in you and change your world.

Good morning believers, this is the day that the Lord has made and our will is to rejoice and be glad in it.  This evening @6 starts a 36 hour prayer event at Munro Academy.  You can drop in anytime between 6pm today and 6am Sunday morning to pray.
It’s strange how we commit to follow Jesus and afterwards our commitment to Him is tested from time to time.  I guess that could be said about but other things like your marriage or raising children.  We start following strong by putting Jesus first but it’s not always easy to stay strong.  “let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”  Galatians 6:9
You would think that you could not grow weary doing good things but only grow weary when things go wrong.  This verse is warning us against growing weary when things are going good.  How does that happen when we have been appointed unto good works?  We should be doing good, good works is our calling card and yet we can wear ourselves out by doing so much good according to what others want that we grow weak, weary, and frustrated in our own personal walk with Jesus.
The old song said, I have decided to follow Jesus needs to be sung again.  Though none go with me still I will follow, the cross before me the world behind me, no turning back, no turning back.  My confidence in you is high and the Lord would say, ‘lift up those hands that hang down for a great door has opened before you and the time is now for you to rise up and enter in.  Have a super day today as you serve the Lord Jesus.
This Sunday morning I will be sharing on, ‘Are New Friends Your Enemy?’  God often using new friends to bring you into higher places but it’s how you see new friends that will determine your progress.
Continue to pray for all those in need, looking forward to seeing you real soon, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

Good Friday, the day of redemption, the special day we are to view the cross.  There was an action that was required, to pay for the wages of sin, to redeem the guilty and to give mankind the only way to be saved.  Sinless Jesus, the Holy Lamb of God who was slain paid the penalty and redeemed mankind back to God by dying on the cross and giving His blood as a sacrifice.  This blood paid our debt and Jesus stands today in the gap between sinful man and our loving God to offer whosoever will the opportunity to be born again.  Thank God this day happened.
Today Good Friday @ 10:30 there is a one hour service at My Father’s House (Bethel Pentecostal Church) in Glace Bay.  There will be a time of food and fellowship following the service.
Tomorrow morning at 8:30 is our annual men’s breakfast.  The men of our church under the leadership of Martin host this event and it brings men in from across the region to eat, rejoice, sing, and hear the word of the Lord.
Easter Sunday morning I will be sharing, ‘Easter Jesus.’  When Jesus rose from the grave He had completed His mission of redemption but it was a new day now for planet earth.  How does our living Jesus effect you?
Easter Sunday evening at 6 we gather at the Faith Baptist Church for food, fellowship, and a Water Baptism Service.  We have around a dozen people who have signed up to follow the Lord in obeying the scriptures in this area.  This service is so special, not only for those who are Baptized but for every believer in our church.
For the next couple of weeks at our mid-week Bible Study Rose Mary will be teaching us from the Word, ‘A Christian Woman’s Role In Life.’  Titus 2:3-5 Similarly, teach the older women to live in a way that honors God. They must not slander others or be heavy drinkers. Instead, they should teach others what is good. These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children, to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. Then they will not bring shame on the word of God.”

The Big Wagon Ride is tomorrow, see you there.
Why a Wagon Ride as a ministry within the church?  Well, as a Church we don’t only call ourselves a Fellowship Church but we host events for the sole purpose of outreach into our community and fellowship within our congregation.  Psalm 133:1 “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”  According to the Bible our Jewish roots reveal that fellowship with God and others went hand in hand.  1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.”  Fellowship at church is great but fellowship outside the four walls of the church is what helps us to grow together in unity.  Like when you invite someone for a meal its meant to build a greater relationship, our wagon ride is one way to live life closer together while building unity within the church family.  The early church in the New Testament seen great signs and wonders and they were very close in personal relationships which gave them a greater level of unity.  Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”  I know that some people can’t make the Wagon Ride for one reason or another and that’s OK.  We will miss you and hope that you can come to another event later on.  My confidence is high that God is building all of us to go forth into our world with power and might in Jesus name.
Tomorrow evening there is No Youth Service at the church.
This Sunday I’ll be sharing on, ‘Hidden In Plain Sight.’  Have you ever seen a picture within a picture?  It’s a hidden picture that you must search to find within the picture that you are looking at.  When you picture Jesus can you see all the hidden things that He placed within our salvation?
There is no Bible Study this week because of the busy schedule that we have on the go next weekend.  Good Friday we join with My Father’s House (Bethel Family Church) @10:30 in Glace Bay.  Saturday morning @ 8:30 is our Annual Men’s Breakfast at the Salvation Army Church in Sydney.  Sunday morning is Easter Sunday as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Sunday evening Faith Baptist has loaned us their building for a Water Baptism Service.  This service will start around 6pm with food and fellowship in the lower level followed by the service upstairs.
Continue to pray for all those in need, looking forward to seeing you real soon, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

Our Youth Group is on its way to New Glasgow today to join in a Youth Retreat.  Pray for them to have a safe trip and to be blessed with a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit.
Sometimes we need to close our eyes if we want to see clearly what the Lord is doing in our life.  When we close our eyes in prayer the invisible becomes visible and the impossible becomes possible.  Habakkuk 2:1 “I will stand my watch and set myself on the rampart, and watch to see what He will say to me, and what I will answer when I am corrected.”  It read, “Watch to see what He will say to me.” Shouldn’t it read, ‘I will listen to hear what He will say to me?’  Don’t miss this, when we pray we should be both looking and listening.  Looking for vision, listening for direction.  Ephesians 1:17-18 “that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.” I have great confidence in you to have wisdom from above to direct your feet here below.
This Sunday I will be sharing, ‘The Puzzle to Picture A Miracle.’  What are the pieces you need to join together to receive the answer to your prayers?
Next Saturday is our Fellowship Wagon Ride.  Check with Martin for details.
Continue to pray for all those in need, looking forward to seeing you soon, from your Pastor lots of love, Kevin and Alice

Long term success is not a place we find and then rest but long term success is a place for those who keep trying to be all that God called them to be.  Paul the Apostle did learn to become content but he never stopped moving forward.  Philippians 3:14 “I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
Coming into rest is when you have received inward confidence from the Lord.  Watch this; Confidence is not when you have studied hard and know all the answers but confidence is revealed when you are no longer worried about any of the questions.  It’s when you know who you are in Christ and you are no longer afraid of what others think about who you are.  I have confidence in you as I see the Lord releasing to you many areas of blessing.  Keep moving forward, it’s your season to shine in the name of the Lord Jesus.
When I first received Jesus I wasn’t married yet and I was very concerned about my family.  My mom and dad, brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, cousins none were saved and they were all deeply on my mind.   How will I reach them?  Who will ever tell them?  As I was praying the voice of the Lord spoke to me and said if I focus on serving the Lord He will see to it that I get to bring the message of Christ to them.  That promise was over 40 years ago.
Over the past 15 years many of my family have passed away with the request that I come and do their funeral.  I never thought when God gave me the promise that this would be the way He would fulfill it.  Who would have thought that the day would come when I would be standing in the office of a minister, sharing my faith with my family, plus many more.
Once again this past week when my uncle died Bobby died the family called and asked if I would do the funeral service for them.  I’m reminded of the faithfulness of God for that which He has promised He is faithful to bring it to pass.
Saturday evening @ 7 is Youth at the church and they are gearing up for their Youth retreat in New Glasgow next weekend.
This Sunday I’ll be away conducting a family funeral for my uncle and Pastor Mark will be sharing the word of the Lord with you here.  Come to church expecting your needs to be met in Jesus name.
Our Fellowship Wagon Ride is coming up on Saturday March 24th.  There are about 180 people signed up and the cost is 20 per adult, 15 per child, 15 per student or 50 per family.  If you haven't paid yet please have your money in on Sunday.
We are going to have a busy Easter Weekend; on Good Friday we will join with My Father's House Church in Glace Bay.  This is the new name for the former Bethel Family Church.  On Easter Saturday it's our annual Men's Breakfast.  Check with Martin for more details.
On Easter Sunday evening its our Water Baptism service.  @6pm we start off with fellowship followed by the service.  Once again we want to thank the Faith Baptist Church for loaning us their church building.  We already have many people who want to be baptized so let us know if you want to follow the scriptures in this area of your life.
Continue to pray for all those in need, looking forward to seeing you soon, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice.

I believe that there’s great power in us seeking Divine Wisdom.  This wisdom usually comes to us in seed form and once we receive wisdom seeds we can plant them into the actions of our daily life and those seeds will guarantee us a future harvest.  The more and more wisdom we sow, the more and more blessings will flow into our future.  The story of the prodigal son is one where the son messed up because he did not recognize or appreciate his father’s blessing.  Luke 15:17-18 “But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!  I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, and I am no longer worthy to be called your son.”  But when he came to himself he humbled himself and spoke wisdom over his life and those wisdom seeds took root and moved him towards a better future.  Today we will all reap from the wisdom seeds that we have planted in our past and that’s why we should plant wisely into today for it will ensure us many great blessings in our tomorrow.  With that thought in mind let’s go forth into today using the seed from the fruit of the Holy Spirit to be a blessing to everyone we meet.
Last week the Family Skate was a great success as several people who didn’t go to any church said that they would like to check out our church.  God uses our acts of love towards others and our lifting high our Lord Jesus to draw all manner of men and women to Himself.
Tomorrow at 7 is our Youth Ministry at the church and they are gearing up for their Youth retreat in New Glasgow.  Friday March 16th, 17th, and 18th.  The cost is $50.00 for each person.  Pastor Mark needs to know if you are going by this Sunday.
Get ready, get ready, get ready it’s Family Sunday.  We start at 10:15 with food and fellowship followed by the morning service.  I will be sharing, "Good Friendships."  We likely all have a friend of two but do we they true friends or are they just people we know?
Our Fellowship Wagon Ride is coming up on Saturday March 24th.  There are about 180 people signed up and the cost is 20 per adult, 15 per child, 15 per student or 50 per family.  If you haven't paid yet please have your money in by next Sunday.

James 1:27 "Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world."  When we use the word religion, the dictionary tells us that it's a set form of practices that people do to show their alliance to someone or something that they are following.  There are many religions in our world and many different ways that people practice their faith in their hope to reach and please their God.  To define the phrase 'the Christian Religion,' it's the things faithful Christians do or practice to communicate with our living Savior and Lord Jesus, the Father, and the Holy Spirit.  When we practice our faith in praise and worship, reading the Bible, witnessing, prayers, and going to church we are faithfully following the Lord in such a way to stay unspotted from the world.  I remember years ago someone saying to me that I was very religious.  Their meaning was, I really practiced in my life what it said in the Bible.  At first I was kind of upset with them, I said, 'I'm not religious I'm in a relationship.'  I am sure they didn't mean to offend me but my misunderstanding of what they said is what caused the problem.  According to the dictionary they were complimenting me but my lack of understanding of what it meant, being religious, was my problem.  Now in saying that there are still many believers who don't like being called religious because of the false religious things that they came out of.  That's OK, just don't lose your present relationship trying to defend the fact that you are not religious.  Jesus said the world would know that we were believers, not by our religious practices or the differences of doctrine but by our love one for another.  So keep loving, caring, believing, praying, reading your Bible, and above all the next time someone thinks you're religious and you don't like it... keep sweet.
Last Sunday we began a 10 week New Life Class at the church.  I believe the class is full but you can check with Charlene Petrie for more details.
Tomorrow evening is our youth service 7 at the Church.
This Sunday I want to share with you, 'His Spirit Speaks.'  Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth.  You can't lead someone unless you can communicate with them where you are leading them.  The question is, how does the Holy Spirit communicate with us?
Next Saturday evening Feb. 24th @7 our Church is hosting a Christian Family Skate.  All churches and all ages are welcome to join with us as we enjoy an evening of fun, food, and fellowship.  It's at the Emera Center Rink North Sydney.
Youth retreat in New Glasgow Friday March 16th, 17th, and 18th.  The cost is $50.00 for each person.  Pastor Mark needs to know if you are going by Sunday March 4th to make the final arrangements.
Our Fellowship Wagon Ride is coming up on Saturday March 24th.  There are about 150 people signed up and it's still a month away.  Cost is 20 per adult, 15 per child, 15 per student or 50 per family.  If you haven't paid yet please have your money in by March 11th.
Easter Weekend; on Good Friday we will join with My Father's House Church in Glace Bay.  This is the new name for the former Bethel Family Church.  We have always enjoyed being together with this congregation over the years and are looking forward to this special Easter event.
Sign up now if you want to follow the scriptures in this area of your life.
Continue to pray for all those in need as we move forward into this next season of super natural miracles.  Looking forward to seeing you soon, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice.

In Philippians 3:14 Paul the Apostle said, "I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."  In times of personal trouble and inward weakness the only choice we can make if we are going to move forward is not to quit and give up.  When the exit door to my past is closer than the reward into my future I must press towards the goal, the prize of His upward call.  The devil can't steal our prize but he can delay us in our journey and make it longer to get there than we thought.  The Bible says, "we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."  Romans 8:28   I declare over your life that gates and doors of opportunity will open before you.  Not just at the Fellowship Church but in every church, over every believer that calls Jesus Savior and Lord.  Confidence in you is high so stir yourself by the power of His Holy Spirit unto good works and believe that we will see the reward of the righteous in the land of the living.
Last Sunday was a great service with several people accepting Jesus.  As my heart rejoices within me I want to thank you all for making Family Sunday such a great success.
This Sunday at 9:30am Charlene Petrie begins a 10 week New Life Class at the church.  The classes are 45 minutes long and will reveal to you the principles of what it means to be a believer.  At 10:30 our church service begins and I will be sharing with you, "Thinking And Feeling."  I believe the greatest battles that we will face in life will not be with the adverse circumstances that surround us but rather the inward wrong feelings that consume us.
Youth retreat in New Glasgow is March 16th, 17th, and 18th.  Our team of young people will be leaving here on Friday and return home Sunday afternoon.  It will be a great time over March break for our youth to renew their strength.
Don't forget to sign up for the Fellowship Wagon Ride coming up on Saturday March 24th.
We have set a date for our next Water Baptism.  Easter Sunday evening @7pm and again we want to thank the Faith Baptist Church for loaning their church.  Sign up now if you would want to follow the scriptures in this area of your life.
Continue to pray for all those in need, looking forward to seeing you real soon, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice.

How you start your day will have a lot to do with how good your day goes but how you end your day will have a lot to do with how tomorrow begins.  When God was building creation He would said, 'it is good' and then the next day it was good and then the next day and it was good.  God took the time to mention how He found good things in each day even though each day wasn't perfect or complete by itself.  It was good and God would be back tomorrow to do more things good.  I believe the good things that we thank God for today will set us up to have a good day tomorrow.
Psalm 118:24 "This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it."   Psalm 118:1 "Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever."  God expects us to live one day at a time but you can in today by seeing and declaring how good God is, have a better tomorrow.  My confidence in you is high as you take time today to express how good our Lord is, you'll end today saying, it is good.
An announcement from Aroma Worship.  Their worship music has been uploaded for you to download from the I-tunes store.  This makes the music the Lord Jesus has deposited in our Fellowship globally available to the world.  I want to thank you for your support and praise the Lord for the great things He has done and is doing among us.
This Sunday I will be sharing on, 'The Next Level.'  I have been hearing in my spirit from the Holy Spirit about this New Year being a year of open doors.  2018 will be a year of blessing and increase that will lift us all to a higher level.  The Lord would say to you, 'Many of your past prayers will become a present reality this year.'  Don't be discouraged over the past delay but be encouraged for this is your now season.  Get ready, hold on, we are going higher together

I have discovered that there is far more to us than meets the eye.  In fact, we all may be something like an iceberg, nine tenth of who we are is under the surface.  The question is, how do we love others deeply when we have more about us hidden than there is exposed?  1 John 1:7 "But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin." By us accepting Jesus and agreeing to walk in the light, His light reveals the truth about us and it lights up those around us and exposes what they are really like also.  Daniel 2:22 "He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him."  In my calling to Pastor the Lord reveals things to me and I get to share them with you.  As we walk in the light together, deep hidden things will be exposed and deep hidden hurts will be healed.  My confidence in you is high as you continue to walk in His light today you will go to higher and higher levels of His Glory.
Saturday evening is Youth Group and there are plans being made for March Break.  All young people are welcome to attend, there are plenty of seats.
Get ready, get ready, get ready this Sunday I will be sharing on, 'Praising Or Complaining.'  Which one of the two do you naturally do?  When you are on the road of complaining there is no exit ramp to victory but when you praise God for where you're to, great things will God do for you.
Continue to pray for all those in need, looking forward to seeing you soon, lots and lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

Friday, January 5th, 2018

Happy New Year.  Looks like we got some rain rather than all snow in our Nor'easter.  Pastor Mark and the team must have been singing, 'There's a Nor'easter blowing.'  I think the storm can be a test to see if we will either complain about the rain or thank God for our roof.  Complaining seems to come natural but praise and thanksgiving seems strange to flow out of us.  We did say that we are going to try harder to be more thankful and give God thanks so enjoy the day.  I truly believe until we learn to give thanks where we are we will not advance any farther and enjoy life any better.  So risk an AMEN!
It's our first Family Sunday of 2018, to think that we started Family Sunday back in 2012.  It's so wonderful to say, 'look what the Lord has started by us working together.'  Each one of you as a church family will receive an eternal reward for your labour that you invested into this event.  We start at 10:15 with food and fellowship followed by the morning service  This Sunday morning I will be sharing on, 'Willing and Obedient.'  We are willing to receive from God but are we willing to obey the One who we are willing to receive from?
All of the weekly Bible Studies are back up and running this week.  There are 2 men's Bible Studies, 1 ladies Bible Study, 2 house Bible Studies, and our mid week church Bible Study in Sydney River.  Youth also meet on Saturday evening at our church location.
Our new life class that was set to start next week from 9:30 to 10:15 will be put on hold due to sickness.  A later date will be set and we will let you know.
Its winter time and we could have some cancelations.  Please let us know how to contact you encase we do have to cancel sometime.  We will have cancelation on our web site, our face book, and we'll send out an email.  You could also call us or send us an email if you have any questions.
Continue to pray for all those in need, lots of love, looking forward to seeing you soon, Pastor Kevin and Alice.

Friday, December 29th, 2017

Since I've been saved the end of the year always causes me to think forward into the coming year.  What will the Lord be doing in my life in 2018?  Who will come into the church, hear the gospel, and be saved?  Will it be one of your children or one of your friends?  Who in bondage will declare freedom and what sick person will declare that they have been healed?  What past promises from God will be fulfilled in 2018?  The Lord does great things every year but who will receive this year?  Who in God's calendar will this coming year be their season for increase?  Psalm 37:3-5 "Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass."
This will be a great NEW Year for us as we see a great increase in signs and wonders and miracles.
This Sunday will be the last day of 2017 and we will have both a 10:30 morning service and a 7-9 evening watch night service.  The evening service will have worship and praise, testimonies of past victories and future hopes and dreams.  There will also be a fellowship time with coffee and tea and if everyone could brings some sweets for us all to share.
A call to fast.  As I was praying about having a united time of fasting for the New Year I felt impressed by the Holy Spirit to ask you to join with me in a 40 hour fast.  Not 40 hours straight but starting Tuesday Jan 2nd and ending Friday Jan 5th.  Each day 10 am till 8 pm (10 hours) Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.  In a time of fasting we don't eat any food but you may have liquids.
Next Sunday Jan. 7 is the first Family Sunday for the New Year and our Bible Studies will begin the following week with a new 10 week Bible Study in Glace Bay at the home of Cathy Sams.  Dave Forrester will be teaching a 10 week course on the book of Romans.

It's almost Christmas, the day of our Savior's birth.  I wonder what our Lord thought when He opened His human eyes for the first time.  The wonder of Him having a huge Divine plan and to find Himself wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.  The plans of Heaven meeting the prayers of the saints, unfolded that first Christmas morning.  God in flesh appeared but He didn't come in a giant package but a tiny baby.  He delights to start things that are going to grow and become big with small seeds.  Hiding His greatness in lowliest of places.  Adam in the Garden of Eden had to tend to the Garden, tend to grow the things that God put in his garden.  We also are reminded that Jesus has come into our heart and now we are to tend to our garden and grow in us His seeds of love, faith, and unity.  To share His message of hope and peace to all mankind.  My confidence in you is He will continue to grow in you and your best days are just ahead.
This Sunday is Christmas Eve and we are looking forward to an exciting exalting morning service.  There will be special music, communion, and I'll be sharing, 'Finding God In Strange Places.'  I was going to call the message, finding God in strange people.
We won't be having a Christmas Eve evening service but we will have a New Years Eve evening service to testify about the goodness of God in 2017 and our faith in God for 2018
Continue to pray for all those in need, looking forward to seeing you soon, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice from our home to yours Merry Christmas.

Friday, December 15th, 2017

Everything we do is done by a choice and everything that we become is done after we make a decision and declare it by faith into our world.  I know that's a deep statement right?  Deuteronomy 30:19 "I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live."   Joshua said in chapter 24:15 "And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
Whatever seems right to you, so it's just as easy to choose to be mean as it is to be kind, to love as it is to hate, to care as it is not to care, to give as it is to be greedy but what you choose to do will have different outcomes in the world around you.  Often we depart into doing wrong things when we no longer trust God to bring about the right thing.
If you go to the Mall shopping you can complain about the busyness or you can say with this many people I will likely see someone I can talk to about God.  I can complain about all the traffic or thank God I have something to drive.  It's a choice so choose wisely today and live large in the Lord Jesus so your future will be good.  My confidence in you is high as you are highly favored and greatly blessed.
Last evening at the Mayflower Mall Aroma Worship gave the shopping audience some wonderful Christmas music.  Due to scheduling Aroma Worship will not be singing at the Mall on Saturday evening as previously announced.
Tomorrow, Saturday, the Sunday School will be having a full rehearsal for the Children's Christmas Presentation.  The children of the church are always so pleased to minister to the adults and it prepares them for a future of ministry.
Sunday morning is the Sunday School's Children's Christmas Presentation.
Continue to pray for all those in need, looking forward to seeing you soon, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Have you ever seen a one man band?  The person may be gifted to play several instruments but they would never make as great a sound as several gifted musicians playing together.  Also a one man band would be limited to what the one man could do.  It's true that you can do things that I can't do and I can do things that you can't do but the greater truth is together we can do far more wonderful things than neither one of us could do along.  God is really big on us being a loving working together family.  Ecclesiastes 4:12 "Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken."
The second picture is a large orchestra, which picture do you think looks more like the true church?  I believe as we come together in love and unity we shall make a sound that calls Heaven to come and join with us.  Each new person helps us to grow in the grace and the knowledge of the Lord.  In 2018 we can expect greater things because Jesus said if two of you on earth shall agree as touching anything it shall be done for them.  My confidence in you is high as we march together into the future we shall declare, to God be the glory for the great things He has done.
Tomorrow @6 is our annual Christmas banquet.  We are looking forward to hosting our largest crowd even and we have opened another area to place more tables so everyone will have a place.  Aroma Worship has their first CD ready for the Banquet and it will be for sale on Sunday for $15 per CD.  They will also be singing Christmas music at the Mayflower Mall @7pm on the 14th and 16 on this month.
Sunday morning I will be sharing, 'Having The Right Hope.'  There are many places for people to put their hope but wherever you invest your life you expect to receive your hope.
Our children's Christmas Concert is next Sunday the 17th of Dec.  There will be a rehearsal for the concert on Saturday Dec. 16.
There will be no Wednesday midweek Bible Study until the new year,
Continue to pray for all those in need.  We're looking forward to seeing you soon, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

God is good all the time.  Being a part of the local church is an awesome thing.  As we join together we are called the body of Christ, the family of God, even a holy nation.  1 Peter 2:9 "But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light."  I remember when I first came to church I was like a man reaching out and grabbing hold of something.  I was holding onto them but I didn't feel that there was anyone there reaching out to me.  What made me feel connected and welcome was when some people in the church started to reach out an held onto me.  Let me say it this way; picture a husband and wife walking together and one needs help so they grab a hold of the other person for support.  Then picture the husband and wife walking together, hand in hand lovingly supporting each other.  Which picture is the church?  I thank God for our growing church as I see you offering your hand of love and support to others.  It's then that we together can proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
There will be no breakfast served this Sunday but we will return to having Family Sunday on Jan. 7th 2018
This Sunday I will be sharing, 'We Are All Filled With Stuff.'  What's in you as a person is what you draw from to cope with life.  If you don't have the right stuff in you then you end up drawing from the wrong stuff and going in the wrong direction.
This Wednesday is the last mid week Bible Study until the New Year.  It will be part two of how to build loving relationships.
Next Saturday Dec. 9th @ 6pm is our annual Christmas Banquet.  It's a time of eating and fellowship but it's also a time when we as a church express our love towards different groups in our community that help to make our community a better place to live.
Aroma Worship plan to have their first CD ready for the Banquet and they will be singing Christmas music at the Mayflower Mall later in the month.
Our children's Christmas Concert is Sunday the 17th of Dec.  There will be a rehearsal for the concert on Saturday Dec. 16.
Starting on the 14th of Jan there will be a New Life class, from 9:30 till 10:15 (before the morning service).  These classes are for anyone who is new to the church and would like to learn more about some of the basic reasons for us placing our faith in Jesus.  Charlene Petrie will be the instructor, Charlene comes as a career teacher from our educational system and a great woman of faith.  She is looking forward to helping you reach higher heights in the Lord.

Good morning, and let me say that you are going to have a great day.  There are some people who have made it their mission in life to be nasty.  They go through the day complaining and when there's nothing to complain about, they take out their magnifying glass of darkness and look for something to complain about.  For us who believe we are reminder in Psalm 118:24 "This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it."  As Christians we should go about today looking for good and should a dark cloud pass by, we are to be looking for the silver lining.  John 10:10 "The thief does not come (everyday) except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come (everyday) that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."  We are examples of who we follow and we are making examples of those who are following us.  This day is waiting for you to arrive, my confidence in you is high that you will be a blessing and receive a blessing everywhere you go.
This Sunday I will be sharing, 'Stumbling Or Stepping Stones.'  As we do life we are all passed stones that offend us.  The stone itself is not the problem but it's what we do with the stone that changes our life.
We have cancelled the breakfast time for the first Sunday in Dec but we are looking forward to starting the New Year with Family Sunday.
Our mid week Bible Study has just finished a study with Pastor Robert Morris and for the next two Bible Study's I will be sharing on, 'Building Loving Relationships.'
Our annual Christmas Banquet tickets are now for sale.  The banquet is Saturday Dec. 9th @ 6pm.  We have a limited amount of seating so please pick up your tickets as soon as possible.
Aroma Worship plan to have their first CD ready for you on Dec. 9th.
Our children's Christmas Concert is Sunday the 17th of Dec.  There will be a rehearsal for the concert on Saturday Dec. 16.
Starting on the 2nd Sunday in the New Year, from 9:30 till 10:15 (before the morning service) there will be an 8 to 10 week New Life Class.

Psalm 91:1-2 "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”  There is a secret place that the Lord has for you to live in and in that place you will have divine protection.  I believe only Heaven will truly reveal all the times that the Lord has protected you from evil.  His shadow protected and blessed you for acting Godly when you had a choice to act another way.  His shadow covered you for staying in faith rather than straying from the Word of the Lord and acting ungodly.  I have found that His protection is like an umbrellaThe umbrella doesn't stop the rain from falling but it keeps you dry while others who walk in the same circumstances get wet.  I pray that you hold high your umbrella of faith in Jesus today.  Hold high His peace that passes all understanding, His love that bares us up in every season of life, His grace that covers all of our sin, and His mercy that's new every morning.  I believe that our best days are yet to come.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing, 'I Can See Clearly Now.'  For those who want to follow the Lord we must keep our eyes fixed on Him who is the author and finisher of our faith.
This is the last Sunday for your Christmas Shoe Box to be returned.
Our annual Christmas Banquet tickets are for sale.
I want to thank all those who help bring our CBU students to church each week.  They are doing a great job as we see more and more and more students come to the Fellowship.
All of the weekly Bible Study groups are reporting that good things are happening.
We are still 6 weeks away from 2018 and yet the Lord has been whispering in my heart that we are going to see great and mighty things coming our way

1 Peter 5:8 "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour."  As believers we are to be peacemakers who walk in love but there are some people who did not come our way to befriend us or to be kind to us but they have come to devour and destroy us.  John 10:10 "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. (Jesus speaking) I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."  How do we enjoy abundant living while walking among those that are out to get us?  Galatians 5:22-23 "the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law."  The work of Adam in the Garden of Eden was to tend the Garden and grow things.  Our work as Christians is to grow the fruit of the Holy Spirit.  I believe as we work to grow the works of God in our lives we will have the wisdom to give no place to the devil.  We will be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might and the roaring lion will not be able to destroy us.  You cannot be the devil's friend nor can you stop him from roaring at you but you can... "submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you." James 4:7
This Sunday morning I will be sharing, "Investing Before You Begin."  The Holy Spirit gave me a Word about how we can become overwhelmed, grow weary, and lose our joy.  It has to do with our commitment before we begin rather than the problems that we encounter along the way.
Last Sunday was Family Sunday and we had 280 plus people in the service.  Thank you all for making Family Sunday such a success.
Tickets for the Christmas Banquet (6 pm Dec. 9th) are on sale at the church.  Its $15 per person and for a family of 4 or more it's $50 total.  There are only 300 tickets available and other years we have had a full house.  Please buy your tickets as soon as possible so you are not disappointed.
Don't forget to bring in your Christmas Shoe Boxes this Sunday.

We all get to go through life but how we go through life, our outlook and attitude is up to us.  The person who begins their day with prayer, walks through their day by faith, will end their day with praise.  I have discovered that the hard things that we go through remind us to strengthen ourselves in the inner person so we might walk outwardly upright.  We are like a caterpillar who struggles to get past the problem in the cocoon to come out with the strength to fly as a butterfly.  The struggle to escape the cocoon was a gift from God to empower them to do well at the next level.  Proverbs 24:5 "The wise prevail through great power, and those who have knowledge muster their strength."  The knowledge that we are moving forward, advancing to the next level, and going beyond where we've been causes us to muster, stir, and be provoked for our victory is just ahead.  My confidence in you is high so press on, your gaining ground and receiving your wings to fly higher than ever before.
Wait for it.....its Family SundayWe start at 10:15 with food and fellowship followed by the morning service.  We have a special guest, Pastor Bruce Morrison and his wife Marlene.  Pastor Bruce was my Pastor in the New Glasgow Fellowship Church before we moved here to Sydney in 1990.  He was the main influence both here are around the Maritimes to raise support to help our fellowship church receive a rebirth.  He is still the senior Pastor in New Glasgow and has a strong vision to help churches find success.  In 2001 at 9/11 in New York City he rushed to ground zero to work as a chaplain to comfort those who were hurting after the terrorist attack.  He delivers the Word of the Lord with a strong conviction to see the Word become life and the power change your world.
Don't forget to fill your shoe box and bring them back to church.  Thank you all for allowing the Lord to use you and as we work together may we advance His Kingdom in our church and divinely touch our community.

Last Sunday evening the worship was outstanding and we rejoice to see the goodness of God in the land of the LivingThank You Holy Spirit for your anointing.
Around the world the most looked up verses in the Bible are found in Psalm 23.  In verse 3 of Psalm 23 we read, "He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake."  In order to restore our soul (mind, will, and emotions) He leads us and we follow.  He tells us that His paths are righteous and that doesn't always mean that it's easy.  What we need to remember is the reward of following His path is personal restoration.  We should never become too happy or comfortable in a sad and uncomfortable place.  If we find pleasure staying in the wrong place it will hinder us from moving forward to the right place.  Why should we trust the Lord and follow?  His vision sees what and where we can't see.  His power can deliver us from enemies that we can't defeat.  His wisdom tells us things that no one else can tell us.  The light of His love will guard us through dark places and bring us safely to the other side.  Jesus said to His first disciples, 'Follow Me and I will make you...'  Take a moment and ask the Lord to guide you today and may you be restored to the glory of God in every area of your life.
This Sunday I will be sharing, 'Step By Step.'  He leads all of us from where we are to where He wants us to be.  We are not all in the same place in the beginning but we all must step from where we are towards Him.

Often as we are following God we will need His advice about how we should advance in a certain direction.   For me, I have heard the Holy Spirit give me three different answers.  The first one is the one I was hoping to hear, 'The Lord says, 'Yes, Now is the time.'  This is great news as I feel that I have the full support of Heaven.  The second answer that I have been given is, 'no, you are not ready.'  It's not that my direction is wrong but His answer means that I'm not mature enough yet to handle the issues that will arise from the direction that I'm going to take.  I have not been denied but I will be delayed until I am prepared.  His third answer is, 'Wait, now is the wrong time.'  This answer is the hardest to accept because we can't see into the future and thus we can't see what He is protecting us from.  As we all are His present day disciples we don't get to pick which answer we like but we are to accept and obey each answer He gives.  May we all grow stronger in every area of life and be able to give thanks for all things.  My confidence in you is high as the Lord is pleased to release greater and greater blessings to you and your house.
This Sunday morning Dr. Ann Gillies will be sharing with us the word of the Lord.  Ann has helped many people recover from many forms of trauma and dysfunction.  Sunday evening 7:30 Aroma, which is a part of our church worship team will be ministering songs of praise and worship that they have been anointed by the Lord to write.  This will be professionally recorded by Little House of Faith Productions.  All are welcome to attend this history making event.

Jesus said in Luke 15:1 "...It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come!"   An offense is more often the result of the way something has been said rather than the facts of what has been said.  Ephesians 4:15 "speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head Christ."  The bare truth can be blunt, harsh, abrasive, and sting like a bee.  Many of the hurts that occur in our personal relationships are the result of facts spoken without love.  Later when we are trying to deal with the hurts we can miss the fact that feelings have been wounded.  Jesus died for our sins which are a fact, but the underlining truth about God is, God is love.  No matter how He deals with us about what we need to fix, we know He loves us.  1 Peter 4:8 "above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.”  We say the truth shall set you free but freeing truth is divinely connected to love.  John 13:35 Jesus said, "By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”  Go into today with a loving heart for people, whenever and wherever you meet them.
This is Thanksgiving Sunday, I will be sharing on, 'Keeping Thankful.'  It's one thing to give thanks for something that you received and it's another thing to keep in thanks to God for all things that come your way each day.
Next Sunday we have a special guest in the morning, Dr. Ann Gillies.  She is a national leader with the Franklin Graham disaster relief foundation.  She has been here in Cape Breton several times dealing with the flood we experienced last year and the follow up connected with the flood.
Wait for it....Oct 15th Sunday evening @7:30 members from our church worship team (Aroma) will be holding a live concert to record songs that they have written to worship and praise the Lord.  Other churches have also been invited and as our praises go up may His glory come down and may many people receive a fresh touch from the Holy Spirit.

When we speak our words contain power and we release that power into the world around us.  Proverbs 18:21 "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit."  The trouble is it doesn't say that 'life and life' are in the power of the tongue but it declares that death and life are in the power of our tongue.  We have the ability to choose what words we will speak but once we speak, our words have the power to fulfill their assignment.  Isaiah 55:11 "So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it."  Life words will bring light and light has the power to dispel the darkness.  Death words will bring darkness and darkness is the realm where our enemy works.  Our assignment and prayer for today Psalm 141:3 "Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips.  Hebrews 13:15 "Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name."   My confidence in you is high to speak wisely and have a blessed day.
This Sunday is Family Sunday and the Holy Spirit has been using this event to draw many people to the Kingdom of God.  Please invite a friend and bring some food as we start at 10:15 with Food and Fellowship followed by the morning service.  We provide name tags for everyone to help us all get to know each other better.  Thank you for being a part of our growing church.  Our last Family Sunday we had around 270 people in the service and I have been praying that we will soon reach 300.
