1 Peter 5:8 "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour."  As believers we are to be peacemakers who walk in love but there are some people who did not come our way to befriend us or to be kind to us but they have come to devour and destroy us.  John 10:10 "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. (Jesus speaking) I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."  How do we enjoy abundant living while walking among those that are out to get us?  Galatians 5:22-23 "the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law."  The work of Adam in the Garden of Eden was to tend the Garden and grow things.  Our work as Christians is to grow the fruit of the Holy Spirit.  I believe as we work to grow the works of God in our lives we will have the wisdom to give no place to the devil.  We will be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might and the roaring lion will not be able to destroy us.  You cannot be the devil's friend nor can you stop him from roaring at you but you can... "submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you." James 4:7
This Sunday morning I will be sharing, "Investing Before You Begin."  The Holy Spirit gave me a Word about how we can become overwhelmed, grow weary, and lose our joy.  It has to do with our commitment before we begin rather than the problems that we encounter along the way.
Last Sunday was Family Sunday and we had 280 plus people in the service.  Thank you all for making Family Sunday such a success.
Tickets for the Christmas Banquet (6 pm Dec. 9th) are on sale at the church.  Its $15 per person and for a family of 4 or more it's $50 total.  There are only 300 tickets available and other years we have had a full house.  Please buy your tickets as soon as possible so you are not disappointed.
Don't forget to bring in your Christmas Shoe Boxes this Sunday.
Continue to pray for all those in need.  Looking forward to seeing you soon, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice
