Jesus said in Luke 6:45 "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks."  Jesus is saying, good or bad, what's on the inside comes out.  Sometimes it runs out, pours out, or spills out but all of it affects the world around us.  Even things we don't want out will somehow leaks out when we open our mouth.  For me it's not a matter of keeping what's inside locked up so it can't get out but it's a matter of me and Jesus working on the inside to have a pure heart.  When you have a pure heart you don't mind anyone looking at you because you have nothing to hide.  By walking in the light as He is in the light we can be honest and open for all to see.  Jesus has come with a Salvation that starts on the inside and changes everything as old things pass away and behold all things have become new.  Lift your head up for you are a child of the King.
Tomorrow night is our Annual Christmas Banquet 6 pm @ the church.  There are only a few seats left so we hope to see you there.  The guest speaker Glen Tedford will also be ministering in our Sunday morning service.  There will be no evening service Sunday night.
Continue to pray for all those in need.  Lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

In the Old Testament it says, "Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples!" 1st Chronicles 16:8  Jesus said in the New Testament, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." Mark 16:15  There are many jobs to be done for Christ in this world and God does call some to sacrifice more to do a certain job.  As a Christian you can wonder what job does God have for you?  In the above verses we are all given the job of telling others the Good News about God and the works that He's done in our lives.  Don't look at what you could be doing until you are doing what you should be doing.  I have discovered when I am doing what I should be doing He leads me to do things that I thought that I could never do.  Make it a point today to tell someone that God has been good to you.
This is the last Sunday of November and in the morning service I'll be sharing on, 'What's The Deal?'  When we are asked to buy into something new we like to know, what's the deal.  Give us the details so we can say yes or no.  The trouble is when God asks us to take on something new He expects us to add some of our faith rather than us knowing all the facts.  In the pm service I'll be sharing, "Doers Of His Will."  There is much to be done in the Kingdom so we must be about our Father's business.
Our Christmas banquet is coming up on Saturday Dec. 6th 6 pm.  Tickets are $15.00 and we have limited space so sign up early.  Glen Tedford who was with us last year is our speaker for the banquet and he will also be speaking in the following Sunday morning service.
There will be no Bible Study for the month of December.  I do want to thank everyone who helps to make our church fit and flow to make a difference in Cape Breton.
Over the Christmas Holidays many of our CBU foreign students have no family here and miss out on sharing a Christmas meal.  The last few years there have been around 10 or 12 students and this year we are hoping to have 5 or 6 families from our church to invite 2 students into their home to share with them their Christmas meal.  If your family would like to be a part of this very important ministry you can sign up with Pastor Bruce and we will pair you up with 2 students.
Continue to pray for those in need, looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

God is good and when we pray we are asked to ask for those things that we have need of that our joy might be full. Matthew 21:21 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ it will be done."  We are not to tell God to remove the mountains that stand against us but we are to speak directly to the mountains and tell them to move.  We are to say to those things that stand against us or we are to speak to them and tell them to go because we have been given the authority to move them.  I think there are times when our prayers sound like we are telling God to remove stuff, 'God do this and God please to that.'  The power of our salvation or our authority is to use Jesus' name and to know that no weapon formed against us can prosper.  Say to your mountains to go for they are not allowed to stay.  James 4:7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you."
Tomorrow morning 8:30 there is a Men's Breakfast at the Sydney Pentecostal Church in Sydney with Bishop Don Carpenter  and on Sunday Bishop Don will be ministering in both of our services.

What a great day to feel the love and kindness of the Holy Spirit.  There is something about the Holy Spirit who lives in us that reveals to us the goodness of God in the land of the living.  Without the Holy Spirit this world feels lost and hopeless but for those who know our God, He never runs out of hope, and He fills us with faith to believe that we can press onward and upward and move forward.  The Bible tells us not to be downcast or looking down about everything but we are to look up.  Our God is up.  I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills.  Talk to God today and look up as you pray.
Christmas shoe boxes are to be returned this Sunday.  Bob and Lin are ready to receive them.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing on, 'Rebuilding With Fruit.'  It's in the fruit on the spirit that we are able to restore our soul.  We live in days where we must know the difference between good and evil.  How do we tell?  In the evening service we will have with us Major Kent from the Salvation Army here in Sydney.  His personal story in one of being a total introvert where he wouldn't leave his house to finding the Lord Jesus and being called into the ministry.  His story is a modern day miracle of how far you can be mentally and emotionally trapped by the enemy to finding total freedom in Christ.
Next  Saturday Nov. 22nd there is a Men's Breakfast 8:30 am at the Sydney Pentecostal Church in Sydney.  Bishop Don Carpenter will be the guest speaker for the breakfast and then on Sunday Nov. 23rd Bishop Don will be ministering in both of our services.

Bless the Lord oh my soul and all that is within me bless His Holy Name.  I was thinking today about the mercy of God and how mercy given from one person requires honesty from the other.  If a person is dishonest, cheating, and lying the one with the ability to show mercy won't or shouldn't.  Jesus told the story of a man who was deep in debt to another man and was shown a lot of mercy.  Then the man that was forgiven much when out and showed no mercy towards another person that owed him only a little money.  Jesus said this servant was wicket for not showing mercy so the mercy that he received was lifted and full judgement was enforced.  Honesty is the best policy and should be our policy when we are dealing with all the issues in life.  Lamentations 3:22-23 "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."  No matter what we did yesterday, today is a new day and with every new day God reveals that His mercies are new so we can be honest and move forward today.  With the same mercy you received from the Lord, be willing to express His mercy to others.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing on, 'Desire Increases Confidence.'  The things that you desire the most, you are willing to advance towards even when you are not fully confident that you will find success.  Sunday evening, 'The Laying On Of Hands.'  The Bible is clear that we can transfer the things of God that we have in us by laying our hands on those in need.  Come expecting a miracle.
Christmas shoe boxes are out there and being filled and are to be returned to our church.  Bob and Lin are ready to receive them.
Next Sunday Nov 16th in the evening service we will have with us Major Kent from the Salvation Army here in Sydney.  His personal story in one of being a total introvert where he wouldn't leave his house to finding the Lord Jesus and being called into the ministry.  His story is a modern day miracle of how far you can be mentally and emotionally trapped by the enemy to finding total freedom in Christ.

What a wonderful day in the neighborhood.  I hope you are all enjoying this day as it is the day that the Lord has made.  The goodness of God in today is always greater and better than any event that happens within the day. The test of a bad moment, or the test of a bad day is to remember to remind ourselves about what we believe.  As we tell ourselves what we believe our words will put a different point of view on our circumstances.  I have learned that it is better for me to question my circumstances than to allow my circumstances to question my beliefs.  Faith declares what it is I believe and by faith I continue to believe until my circumstances change. Galatians 5:1 "Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage."
Tick tock the clocks go back tomorrow night so enjoy the extra hour's sleep.  This Sunday is...wait for it.....wait for it...it's Family Sunday.  10:15 we start with food and fellowship and the opportunity to get to know your brothers and sisters in Christ.  It's also the opportunity to invite a friend that they may hear the Gospel.  My message will be on, 'The Anointed Church.'  Why did Jesus say that He would build a church?  What is the church suppose to be?  There is no evening service on Family Sunday.
Continue to pray for those in need.  Please pray for Bill Sweet's wife Don and their family as Bill went home to be with his Savior and Lord this week.  Bill was a faithful church goer until his recent health issues.  He is now absent from us and yet he rejoices in the present of the Lord.  Pray also for Carl MacDonald and Charlene Petrie who are recovering.
Looking forward to seeing you, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

Give thanks to the Lord for He is good.  In order for you to give thanks, you must have it first within you to give it forth from you.  There are only two types of attitudes that we all have towards life.  One is, 'what's in it for me, what do I get.'  The other is, 'what can I give or what can I do to help.'  Matthew 6:38 "Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you."  It's like the statement, 'Ask not what can your country do for you but ask what can you do for your country.'  It's in helping others that the Lord looks to help you.  It's in giving that we receive.  It's in working to provide for others that the Lord will work to provide for you.  Look around at your world today and give something to encourage someone that God is good.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing on, 'At All Times.'  The event or the experience of our salvation should cause us to rejoice at all times.  Since I've been saved there have be trying times but at those times when I recall the blessing of my salvation I rejoice.  Things can be bad, times can be dark, storms can be strong but nothing has ever been so bad, nothing has even been so dark, nor has any storm been so strong that the glorious light of Jesus in my heart has gone out.  Sunday evening Pastor Mark will share with us the Word of the Lord.  Pastor Mark has great faith for God to meet your need.  Come out and be encouraged to receive your miracle.
Next Saturday in Halloween and we have 'tracts' that you can have to go in the children's treat bags.  Next Sunday is Nov. 1st and it's Family Sunday so don't forget to invite a friend.  Continue to pray for all those in need and pray for Charlene Petrie who is recovering from surgery.  I'm looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

What a great Thanksgiving service and dinner we had last Monday for our students from the CBU.  They all had a wonderful time and to see the fellowship between our helpers and them was a blessing.  Doctor DJ did an excitant job is speaking to all of us.  He told his personal story of how he grew up in a Christian home and how he had a determination to overcome any problems.  He shared how the Lord provided for him and how today he continues to pray, read the word, and believe for greater things.  Thanks be to God and thanks be to all those who helped make this day a success.
The Bible says in John 4:24 "God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."  ThenJohn 8:32 "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”  The more truth I have about God the greater my worship becomes towards God.  The outward expression of worship is a reflection of an inward truth that is burning in my heart.  Jesus healed 10 lepers but only 1 returned to worship because only one caught the truth about how he was healed.  Every time you catch a truth about Jesus it should bring you into deeper levels of worship.  The more areas of truth you receive the more you love God, yourself, and others. The truth you follow brings you into the levels of freedom that you enjoy.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing on, 'Hold Fast.'  There are some days when we are not moving forward and we refuse to go back so we hold on.  Having done all that we can, we take a stand.  There is something to be said for those people who just keep showing up.  Sunday evening, 'Now It Shall Come.'  There are some present promises that are heading to your house.  You shall be blessed in the right here and now.
Continue to pray for all those in need.  Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Psalm 103: Bless the Lord, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies,
Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
It's great to read verses that kind of pick us up.  When we don't feel 100%, when we made a mistake, when life lets us down, or when we need to be reminded just how good the Lord is.  You wouldn't think that we would ever need to be reminded about so great a salvation but life has a way of moving us away from the closeness that we once enjoyed.  The trouble is when we drift from our foundation, right and wrong ideas can mix together, black and white collide and we come up with a lot of grey areas and sound doctrine can have a tinny ring to it.  The good news is the Lord has promised to never leaves us nor forsakes us.  It's His Holy Spirit that's in us and when we read verses like this we feel encouraged to press on.  Yes, He is still building His Church and you are still a part of it.  Have a blessed day.
This Sunday is Thanksgiving and I'll be sharing on, 'The God of Variety.'  The Lord is building One Church but He is using a lot of different people to build it with.  Don't allow differences to divide you but see in the Spirit that this is the work of the Lord.  There will be no evening service this Sunday.
On Monday we have having a special Thanksgiving Dinner to celebrate with the CBU students from around the world, 'the Meaning of Thanksgiving.'  This is not a Thanksgiving dinner for the entire church but for the CBU students.  The Salvation Army Church in Sydney has offered us their building to host this event.  Volunteers need to check with Mary MacLean about your time to be there.  The students will be arriving around 11:30, service will start at noon, and the meal to follow.
Continue to pray for all those in need.  Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

God is good.  Have you even looked at someone doing something and in your opinion they were doing it wrong?  Do you think that there have been times when you were doing something and others looked at you as doing it wrong?  It's funny how we can think.  If I am doing something right and you do it differently then you must be doing it wrong.  There is an old expression that you don't hear anymore, 'there's more than one way to skin a cat.'  This old saying draws a picture in our mind that isn't very nice for the cat.  It's a good thing in creation that God didn't make one kind of everything but He made 1000's of kinds everything.  He didn't make a tree one way, one size, one shape and say that's the only right way to make a tree.  He didn't make a frog and make every frog the same.  There are over 12,000 different kinds of frogs that we know about on the planet.  No two snowflakes are the same, no two fingerprints are the same.  I'm not saying that we don't do anything wrong but I am saying that doing things different is not wrong.  Look around at your world and rejoice for the human eye sees life in over 100 million shades of colour.  Your HD computer is 16.9 million.  God gave us the ability to view life in super deluxe over the top fullness which is much more than black and white.  I pray that our eyes would be fully open to embrace others and we would live an abundant life.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing on, 'Learning To Lean.'  Where you lean is where you learn.  It's when we learn to lean on the Lord Jesus that we learn His ways.  Sunday evening, 'Your Character.'  Just as you can develop your natural body with proper food and exercise, so is it with your character.
Continue to pray for all those in need.  Pray for humbleness, forgiveness, and understanding within the Body of Christ as the Holy Spirit brings divine unity into our community.  Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

Friday, September 12th, 2014

greetings

12/09/2014

To: 'Pastor Kevin Mattatall'
Hi everyone, another wonderful day to serve the Lord Jesus.  Joshua 24:15 "And if it seems evil to you to serve theLord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."  Joshua looked around at the nation of Israel and he was in the midst of people who declared that they knew God but he could see that they were no longer serving God.  Even today we can look around at many who say that they know God but their lifestyle no longer serves God.  For many there life becomes one of self serving.  That means when I have a choice between what God would want me to do and what I feel like doing, I pick me.  The Holy Spirit is faithful to remind us that when we accepted Jesus as our Savior we were also to make Him our Lord.  Serving Jesus means that when I have a choice between what I feel and what He expects, I pick Him.  At the Fellowship Church we have decided to follow Jesus and as for me and my house we shall serve the Lord.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing on, 'Living In the Now.'  All miracles arrive in the now so we must be in the now in faith believing.  If you get trapped in yesterday's mistakes or long for some future blessing then you are not currently expecting.  We should be coming to church ready to receive a Divine encounter in any and every area of our lives.  Sunday evening I'll be sharing on, 'His Path Is Right.'  Jesus never leads us in the wrong direction to teach us a lesson. All the paths of the Lord are dipped in mercy and filled with truth.  He has a right way for us to walk in but it will require faith to stay and not stray from the path.
Continue to pray for all those in need, looking forward to seeing you, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

Praise the Lord for God is good and God is good all the time.  A person who orders their steps to follow His steps will walk in the blessing of God.  Psalms 1:3 "That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers."  Like a tree that bears fruit and has leafs that don't dry up, its a tree that is close to or connected to a stream or a water supply that is close by.  It's with the water supply of God's Holy Word or by the washing of God's Holy Word that we bear fruit and even abundant fruit as we live an abundant life.
This Sunday we are going to hold our 10:30 morning worship service on our Church property. ( weather permitting )  There is a slight chance of rain and in that case we will be going back to the school where we always meet.  The church property is located at 969 Grand Lake Road it's 1km past the Mayflower Mall on the left.  There will be a bikers blessing as a part of the service followed by a time of food, fun, and fellowship.  There will be no evening service.
On Monday Alice and I will be taking our daughter Jenny and her boys back to Newfoundland.  We will be away for the following 2 weeks.
Continue to pray for those in need, looking forward to seeing you on Sunday lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice.

Praise the Lord for the good old summertime.  Good memories are made in moments.  It's not all of last year that we remember but it's the moments in last year that were special.  It's not all of our childhood that we can recall but it's those times when mom or dad gave us a great memory.  Children don't need big things to remember great moments but it's in those tiny moments that you made them feel special.  You may want to be a great person but great people have the ability to make others around them feel encouraged and wonderful.  Have a great day today by making someone else feel special.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing, 'After The Event Is Over.'  What do you do when the event you planned to make you happy is over and it has left you empty?  Sunday evening weather permitting we'll be on the Sydney Boardwalkfor an outdoor outreach service.  Come out and bring a friend.
Next Sunday is Family Fun Sunday with a Bikers Blessing on our Church Property on Grand Lake Rd.  It's located 1km past the Mayflower Mall on the way to CBU.  You don't want to miss the food, fun, and fellowship.  Come out and bring 2 friends.
Continue to pray for those in need, looking forward to seeing you all on Sunday, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

Well, it's a beautiful summer day, just the kind of day that we dreamed about in those ice cold days of January.  It's funny how we arrive in what we dreamed for but it's now somehow warmer than we expected.  This is not to say that we are now dreaming about a cold day in January but the farmers are asking for us to pray for rain.  It seems like our human nature is never satisfied in the day we're in and yet the Bible tells us that this is the day that the Lord has made.  So look around and I know it's warm but be thankful, rejoice in this day for winter will be back soon enough.
This Sunday morning I will be sharing a word about, 'It All Started At The Wedding.'  It happens to be for Alice and I that it's our anniversary this Sunday and it all started at the wedding.  Jesus also began His public ministry at a wedding.  Why was He born in a stable and died on a cross and why did He start His ministry at a wedding?   There is no evening service this Sunday.
Continue to pray for those in need, looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Blessings that come from above are directly connected to the words that we speak below.  Proverbs 18:21 Death and Life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat it`s fruit.  Most of us know enough of the Bible to know this truth about our words but knowing and applying or hearing and doing can be 2 different things.  When you have a choice whether to speak death or life, speak life.
Tomorrow Friday, there is a work day at the Church land on Grand Lake Road from 9 till noon.  We can use lots of help so if you can make it out it would be great.
This Sunday in the morning I`ll be sharing, Oneness Brings Wholeness.  We can strive to be perfect and never get there or we can strive to become one and find wholeness.  Sunday evening we are on the North Sydney Boardwalkas we join with Grace Fellowship to have a special outdoor outreach community service.
On Monday and Tuesday evening there will be special Catch the Fire  services at the Highland  Arts Theater ( St Andrews church) on  Bentick St. In Sydney at 6:30

Praise the Lord for wisdom from above.  Last night with the Board of the church I said that the presentation of the Gospel is meant to bring a desire for elevation in our spirit.  We are to look up and from elevation we will receive a revelation in our spirit.  From revelation we stir in our faith and see a manifestation.  From manifestation we are then empowered to walk in transformation.  Presentation, elevation, revelation, manifestation, and transformation.  I hope you don't need an explanation.  The point is we want to see others transformed but it all begins with us presenting a Gospel that gives them the desire to look up.  Jesus said it this way in Matthew 5:16 "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."  A Gospel that can't be lived out before men shouldn't be preached out across the world.  It has to be doable before it will be receive-able.  Let's keep it real and really change the world.
This is, wait for it... wait for it....Family Sunday!!!!  We start @10:15 with good food and great fellowship so don't be late.  Then 5 minutes before the service starts we run a DVD, are you as smart as a Sunday School student?  The worship begins, announcements, offering, my message, 'There's Only One,' and we end with Holy Communion.  On Family Sunday there is no evening service.
Continue to pray for all those in need.  Looking forward to seeing you on Family Sunday, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

Praise the Lord for He is really good.  There is something for everyone to do and a place for everyone to fill in the wonderful Family of God.  The trouble is in the natural we often see sameness as oneness and so we try to conform others to our will.  The truth is the Spiritual church in not a natural place and until we see in the Spirit we will miss the vital part that each person plays to make us together the Holy place where God dwells.  Ephesians 2:19-22  "Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit."  You are special all by yourself and you have a special place in the Family of God that makes us together more complete.  I pray that you have a special day today in the Lord.
This Sunday morning we will have with us Rob and Fran Parker the founders and directors for the National House of Prayer in Ottawa.  Each year on the last Sunday in June we have received a toonie offering for this ministry so it's great that they can be with us to relate the concerns and victories in our nation this Sunday morning.  Sunday evening Pastor Mark will be imparting a word to impact your life.
Today Alice and I are on our way to the Abundant Life Church in Truro.  They have invited me to speak the word of the Lord with them this evening.  They have been praying and seeking direction for their future so pray for me.  Sunday morning I've been invited to speak at the Moncton Victory Church.  This is a church in the heart of Moncton with a heart to reach the world.
Next Sunday, July 6th is Family Sunday and as TD Jakes says..... get ready, get ready, get ready!!  Family Sunday is one of those God ideas that God Himself blesses everyone that takes part.
Continue to pray for those in need, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

There seems to be within our Christian walk an ongoing reoccurring event that happens between us and Holy Spirit.  It's when we receive or we catch a fresh revelation of God and we draw a line in the sand and say to ourselves, 'let's begin from here.'  We don't need to go back to the beginning when we received Christ but we begin from where we are as God leads us to where He's designed us to be.  This principle of starting anew because we received a new truth repeats itself over and over again.  As long as you are open to receive newness, you'll always be finding freshness.  May you walk in the fullness of being renewed and refreshed today.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing with you, 'Are You Awake and Renewed?'  Many are awakened to new life but they have never submitted to having a renewed mind.  They are saved in their heart and love God but they are weak in their head and thus lack the understanding that they need to walk with the God that they love.  Sunday evening, 'I Can't Get Over it!'  The things in your past that you can't get over are never far begin you.  They call out to you to look back every time that there is an opportunity to move forward.
Continue to pray for those in need, looking forward to seeing you soon, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Hi everyone, a little early for my Friday email but I wanted to inform you about Mary Lou's celebration of life service tomorrow at 11 at Chants Funeral Home.  The family of Mary Lou's has asked for our choir and orchestra to do the music.  If you are involved in the music ministry please try to be there at 10:15.  Mary Lou was a loved member of our church family and she will be missed here below but we know that we shall sing with her again one day.  She told me a few weeks ago when she was in the hospital that she wins either way.  She wins if she goes to be with her Saviour and Lord and she wins if she comes back home to family and friends.  Truly an amazing understanding in how to walk with Jesus.
Also letting the Men know that there is a breakfast at the Pentecostal Church Saturday morning and Saturday evening @ 7 the Lumber River Quartet will be ministering at our church location.  Sunday morning it's Father's Day with a special something for all the Fathers.  Lumber River will be singing, there'll be a baby dedication, and I'll be sharing a word, 'Ordinary Fathers.'  It's in the ordinary moments of life when God shows up that extra ordinary things happen.  There will be no evening service on Father's Day.
Continue to pray for those in need, looking forward to seeing you all, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

Praise the Lord Jesus.  We had called for a work day on the church land this morning but the weather is not co operating with us.  Matthew 5:14-16 "You are the light of the world.  A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.  Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp stand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."  You are a light with a choice to shine or not shine.  Once you accept Christ, you are a light because Jesus the light of the world lives in you.  Jesus said, 'let your light shine' or allow the Christ in you to illuminate the world around you.  Then as others see you and they watch you they glorify God and are drawn to Jesus.  So go ahead and let your light shine today.
This Sunday in the morning I'll be sharing on, 'A Crossroad.'  Life is full of intersections.  Roads or choices that lead us in different directions.  Making the right choice is all important.  In the evening I'll be sharing on, 'What You Need.' Fullness in life depends on who you have around you.  It wasn't good for Adam to be alone and it's not good for you.  What input do you need to be made complete?
Next Saturday evening 7 pm at our church we are having the Lumber River Quartet.  This is a community event and we have invited all the other churches to join us.  Next Sunday is Father's Day and Lumber River will be will us for the morning service and there will be no evening service.
Continue to pray for all those in need.  Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Praise the Lord for He is good.  With how busy things are getting I'm not sure if we are slowing down for the summer or speeding up to do greater things.  Being in Newfoundland was amazing.  I really felt that I had a word from the Lord for the churches that I spoke in.  I was in 4 different denominations across the province of Newfoundland as their guest speaker.  God spoke to me a few years ago about being a bridge builder between different church groups.  I am truly humbled as He continues to fulfill His word.
This Sunday is Family Sunday (risk an Amen) and we start with food and fellowship at 10:15 followed by the morning service.  I have a word to share with you, 'How Is Your Hearing?'  How you are in hearing, determines what you believe in doing.  There will be communion and on Family Sunday there is no evening service.  Don't forget to bring some food and friends and come expecting a miracle.
Continue to pray for those in need, looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

The sun is shining, it's Mother's Day weekend, and the Lord He is good.  Ephesians 5:13-14 "But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.  Therefore He says Awake oh sleeper and rise from the dead and Christ will give you light."  It's a day of blessing for all those who are awake and have an ear to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying.  If you are asleep then wake up for the day is great and you're missing it.  Spiritual slumber and sleep causes us to miss the warmth of the Son who wants to shine on us.  Maybe your man made bed side clock broke at 2 am and you awake to view the clock and want to go back to sleep but stir yourself, awake oh sleeper and don't miss the fact that the light of God's Son is flooding your room.  The last few years the devil has deceived so many people with a broken understanding and now they sleep in as the light of Jesus is bringing signs and wonders to the Church.  Look around you, Jesus is alive!
This is Mother's Day Sunday and I'll be sharing on, 'Mother's of Faith.'  God promises according to His Word to always make a way of escape.  The way of escape will always be according to His Word but He does not promise that we who follow His way will always like the way of escape.  Commitment and submission to His written Word will always be required in the way of escape from our problem.  There will be no Sunday evening service this Sunday as people take time to honour your Mom.
As many of you know I am the area director for the Canadian Fellowship of Christian Ministries (CFCM)  Alice and I will be away meeting with Pastor's and leaders over the next two Sundays.  I will be speaking next Saturday evening at a leadership rally in Harbour Grace, Sunday am in Victoria (PAON) church and Sunday evening CFCM church in New Harbour.  We will spend a few days with Jenny, Murray and our grand children in Carbonear.  The following  Sunday we'll be with Pastor Cyril Rogers at Son Rise church in Corner Brook.  Next Sunday here Pastor Bruce will bring the morning message and Louie Campbell the evening.  The following Sunday sharing the Word will be Pastor Mark in the morning and Pastor Bruce in the evening.  Pray for Alice and myself as we go to encourage and lift up the hands of our pastors.
Continue to pray for Mary Lou who is receiving treatments in Halifax as we pray for all those in need.  Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

How are we to walk straight looking up to Heaven while living down to earth?  As Christians we are to grow Spiritually to believe for greater miracles and still be able to relate honestly and lovingly to the world around us.  We have spiritual needs and physical needs that we need to juggle to stay in some kind of balance.  If we are going to walk according to the Word of God then we must know the Word of God.  To have a safe journey through life it's the Word that is able to guide us.  When someone tells you that there are parts of the Bible that no longer apply or it can't help us and guide us today they tell lies.
2 Timothy 3:16-17  "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."
Our society is no longer thoroughly equipped for every good work because they are no longer thoroughly convinced that the Bible is the owner's manual for life.  I believe it's the word of God that keeps us balanced to enjoy the presence of the Lord and the natural world around us.  Keep the Word close to your heart and the Word will keep you close to God.
This is Family Sunday and we start at 10:15 with food and fellowship followed by the morning service.  Remember to take some food and invite someone to come with you.  I'll be sharing a message, "His Divine Order."  It's easy to get saved but lining up to receive your marching orders can be difficult.  It's like we plan to get married but do we plan to be married?  We want to join the Army of God but then avoid boot camp.  There will be Communion at the end and on Family Sunday there is no evening service.
Continue to pray for those in need.  We believe in the God that Heals as we pray for Mary Lou and others who are looking for a Divine touch.  Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice

What a great day that the Lord has made.  Last Sunday morning I shared that there are three things we were created for.  To learn, to grow, and to walk with God.  Each day this week I have been more keenly aware of these three things.  This morning I was at the Prayer Breakfast and then I went to the funeral service for Valerie Lafitte's sister.  In both places the Holy Spirit spoke to me to listen to learn so I might grow and be able to walk with God better.  Why don't you take some time today to focus on learning and growing so you can walk with God in greater ways.
This Sunday in the morning I'll be sharing on 'Our Anointing.'  What is the anointing and what is it not?  The Lord wants you to experience the light of His powerful anointing that's in church on Sunday so you can take it home and into your world to dispel and overcome the darkness around you.  Sunday evening Ross & Dee MacInnes from Calgary who were the guest speakers at the Prayer breakfast will be sharing their story.  Invite a friend to church and enjoy the presence of the Lord.

Hi everyone, the Good Friday service in Glace Bay was such a blessing with a full house.  It's always so special to gather with the sense of family, love, and unity.  Coming up tomorrow is our Men's Breakfast @ 8:30 @ the Salvation Army Church in Sydney.  Great music, good food, wonderful friends, and the blessing of a word to men in the 21st century.  Then we have Easter Sunday morning with praise and worship to our risen Saviour.  I'll be sharing on, 'His Power and His Purpose.'  Take your camera and get some pictures.  We have a few special things lined up so don't miss it.  We should be streaming again as we had some computer problems the last 2 weeks.  There will be no evening service this Sunday.
Continue to pray for all those in need.  Hope to see you soon, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice
