Praise the Lord in the land of the living and look what the Lord has done.  For Christians the Bible is our final authority as it is God opinion, advice, counsel, and direction for all matters concerning our life.  Psalm 119:89 "Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven."  2 Timothy 3:16:17 "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."  Where we can become confused is when our opinion contradicts God's word.  The good news is God's word is forever settled and our opinion can change if our heart is open.  We could be wrong about something today but we can learn, change our opinion, and move forward to line up with God's word. Psalm 119:105 "Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path."  When you feel confused and darkness has closed in around you, open the Bible and allow it's words to light up your path.
This Sunday is Family Sunday so we start at 10:15 with breakfast.  We ask people to bring some breakfast type food and now we are seeing more and more people on Family Sunday so could I ask you to bring a little more.  I will be sharing a word, 'Who Is Your Neighbour.'  Jesus said to love your neighbour.  Does that mean only those you like?  Is a stranger a neighbour?  Are other Christians your only neighbours?  Come Sunday morning to find out. Don't forget to invite a friend.  On Family Sunday we also share in Communion and there will be no evening service.
Continue to pray for those in need.  Looking forward to seeing you, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice.

Praise the Lord for giving us the power to make choices.  It's the best thing and the worse thing depending upon the choice we make.  How we make our choices reveals our feelings about the issue.  If you ask someone to invite a friend to church, they can say, 'I could never do that, I won't do that, I think I can do that, I'll try to do that, sure I can do that, I will do that today, or 'I already have been doing that.'  Their choice of words makes you feel glad you asked them or I will never ask them to do anything again.  I think for all of us anything different can seem awkward the first time we try.   Remember learning to tie your shoe laces?  I can't do it, I'll never get it, hold it a minute maybe I can, I almost got it, look everyone I did it.  Paul the Apostle who walked through some things wrote Philippians 4:12-13 "I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.  I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."  Make good choices today and may you find good success in all you choose to do.
This weekend; Tonight from 7-9 there is an open house at Suzanne Doane's 317 Cartier Street for Marielle Robinson who is moving to Calgary next week.  Tomorrow morning @ 8:30 there is a Men's Breakfast at Sydney Pentecostal Church and tomorrow evening @7 at our church there will be a Leadership training time with Pastor Ted Yuke.  Pastor Ted has spend a lifetime gaining wisdom in leading the church forward and helps those who want to move to the next level.  Sunday morning Pastor Ted will bring the morning message.  Pastor Ted has been asked to share his vision and revelation of Jesus Christ around the world so don't miss it.  There will be no evening service this Sunday.
Next Sunday is Family Sunday so invite someone and let's see if we can fill the overflow.
Continue to pray for all those in need, looking forward to seeing you over the weekend, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

'Just call me sweetheart I'm in love with you.'  Happy Valentine's Day.  There's something nice about that word sweetheart.  It projects a much warmer feeling than words like sourpuss, hardhearted, and cold-hearted.  Calling someone your sweetheart seems to be more of the way that we would talk about a current happy fresh loving now relationship.  When Jesus came into our heart He sweetened us and He gave us great joy.  Pastor Mervin Yuke my former Pastor told me time and time again, 'Kevin, keep sweet.' He seemed to tell me that a lot as I was dealing with sour people.  It's no secret, life tries to sour us all but the same sweetener that forgive the first time is always new and fresh every morning.  Psalm 89:28 "I will maintain my love to him forever, and my covenant with him will never fail."  To maintain our love for those we love should be our personal mission for life.  Go ahead, do something sweet for your sweetheart today.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing on, 'What Do You Do?'  The Bible says that we reap what we sow but what do you do when you are weeping over a reaping that you didn't plant?  Sunday evening Pastor Mark will be sharing the Word and Melanie MacDonald will be sharing about her upcoming mission trip.
Next weekend we will have with us a very special friend Pastor Ted Yuke.  Last year when Alice and I attended the CFCM National Conference in Calgary, Pastor Ted was the keynote speaker.  Pastor Ted travels the globe bringing a healing word of help and hope to the nations.  When our family moved here is 1990 Pastor Ted was one of the key people to promote the work of the Lord in this area.  Saturday evening Feb 22nd @7 Pastor Ted will be sharing with all those that work, help, and lead in any area of ministry within the Fellowship church.  Sunday morning Feb 23rd Pastor Ted will bring the Word and there will be no evening service so come out in the morning and invite 2 friends.
Continue to pray for all those in need, lots of love, looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Isn't it great to be saved and to be a part of the wonderful loving family of God.  The Lord not only saves us but He gives us a guide who is the Holy Spirit and a book called the Bible for us to follow that we might live a Blessed Life.  Have you ever gone somewhere and got lost?  Alice and I were driving to New Jersey once and we took the wrong exit on highway 95 and went into New York city by mistake.  It wasn't long before we were hopelessly lost.  Being lost didn't seem to stop me from driving and driving and driving, even when I didn't know where I was going.  We finally stopped and asked a man for instruction to get back onto highway 95.  He told us to go down three blocks and at the lights turn right, go two more blocks take a left, then go through four sets of lights, turn left and follow the signs from there.  I said, 'thanks a lot.'  He looked back and said, 'Listen, if you miss that first right....chop it up.'  In other words if you don't do the first thing right then the second thing and the third thing and the forth thing doesn't matter.  Our salvation is the first right thing to do to get back on the road of life.  If you miss salvation then all the roads and rabbit trails that you head down will never lead you to eternal life in Heaven.  You are greatly blessed and highly favoured.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing on, 'Along The Way.'  Whether we like it or not we must begin the walk by faith by beginning to walk even when we know that we have plenty of faults and failures.  Sunday evening I'll be sharing on, 'How's Your Vision.'  We all have 2 sets of eyes.  Our natural sight and our spiritual sight.  It's the eyes of our understanding that have to be opened to understand the Kingdom of God.
Coming up on Feb 22nd and 23rd we are having as a guest speaker Pastor Ted Yuke.  We are planning a Saturday evening 7 pm Leadership meeting.  Pastor Ted has worked with church leaders around the world and has given them some keys to leading that would be helpful for us all to hear.  This service is for anyone involved in helping out anywhere within the church.  Ushers, Sunday School teachers, choir, orchestra, greeters, set up, tear down crew, any leader is welcome or anyone looking to be a leader in the future should try their best to be here.  Pastor Ted will also be sharing with us on Sunday morning and there will be no evening service as we want to give everyone the opportunity to attend the Leadership meeting on Saturday evening.
Continue to pray for those in need.  Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice

Last Sunday evening I talked about the 3 levels of Spiritual growth within the family of God.  It's the way that we tend to think when we are handling the issues of life.  We can think like slaves, or like servants, or like sons.  The Bible tells us to renew our mind to become mature and one of the test for spiritual maturity is correction.  How do you act when you are corrected?  Do you act like a victim?  Why is everyone picking on me?  Do you act like a servant where I accept correction because you pay me and I can't afford to quit.  Do you act like a son where correction is received to make a better family.  Do you see others as those you love, like, or tolerate.  Son, servant, slave.  It's possible to be a son in every area of your life or to be a servant or a slave in every area of your life.  Jude 1:20-21 "But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life."  May today you think more like a son, a joint heir with Christ, serving the Lord with joy.
This Sunday is family Sunday so come a few minutes early to enjoy breakfast with your family and friends.  Breakfast starts @10:15 followed by the morning service.  I'll be sharing on, 'Personal Image.'  We all project an image to others whether it's good or bad.  Can we change our image?  Come and find out.  Don't forget to bring some food to help out with the breakfast and a friend or two to hear the gospel.  On Family Sunday there is no evening service.

Praise the Lord, even for the cold days.  Paula Bloise pointed out this verse in the Bible.  Job 38:22 "Have you entered the treasury of snow, or have you seen the treasury of hail?"  Cold weather is often something that we declare to be a negative thing and not a treasury.  In fact the colder is gets the more negative comments we hear about it.  Also at this time of year as you look to the sky you'll see thousands of Canadians fly south (not geese) to escape the bitter cold.  It's a great idea and people really enjoy the warmer weather.  The flip side that we learn about our human nature is, we will try if we can to escape anything negative.  Be it the weather, negative people, bad health, hell, and awful jobs we will go anyplace that's better than where we are.  King David had problems all around him when he wrote Psalm 27:5 "For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock."  It's in times of spiritual trouble that David found a place to escape to.  A secret and safe place of the soul where he could cast all his cares upon the Lord.  Today if there are negative things robbing your peace, escape in prayer into the presence of the Lord and allow Him to carry you.  Jesus loves you and gives you the warmth of His Grace to melt the coldness of life.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing on, 'His Kingdom Revealed.'  What does His Heavenly Kingdom look like on earth?  Jesus reveals ways to see if His Kingdom is in you.  Sunday evening Pastor Mark will be sharing the Word of the Lord.  Come out and bring your praise and worship into the house of the Lord.
Continue to pray for those in need.  Hazen Usher is in the Sydney hospital and Carl MacDonald is in the Glace Bay hospital, both are in need of a healing.  Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice.

Praise the Lord for He is good.  Isaiah 62:10 "Go through, Go through the gates! Prepare the way for the people; Build up, Build up the highway! Take out the stones, Lift up a banner for the peoples!"  This verse tells us to prepare a smooth way over rocky ground for others to follow.  We spend years in school preparing to spend a lifetime working.  The idea is the better we are prepared for life the less time we'll need to spend repairing our life.  Most of us have driven by the new exit ramp that is being constructed on the 125.  We see that they are removing rocks, putting in gravel, making it smooth, and getting it ready for pavement.  Sounds like the verse in Isaiah.  The hope is, the better that they prepare now, the less they will need to repair later.  2 Timothy 2:15 "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who (is prepared) does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."  Prepare yourself using God's Word and you will prepare a better way for others to follow.  Have a super day.
This past Wednesday we started a 7 week study with Robert Morris on the Lord's prayer.  If you have the time to join us it would be worth your while to attend.
This Sunday morning I'll be sharing on, 'His Kingdom Revealed.'  What does His Kingdom look like?  How do we know it when we see it?  Sunday evening, 'Keeping Your Confidence.'  What is the reward for us when we are willing to hold onto our confidence in God when life is trying to steal it away?
Continue to pray for those in need.  Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, lots of love Pastor Kevin and Alice
